9014 lights up the station on a crisp fall night at Jackman. 9014 gets short rest while the handoff of Job 1 takes place and the two crews have an exchange of words. It's 10:00 and soon both crews will board their new trains and head the respected ways.
An old photograph that I found as I set up a RAID. Each yacht club around Strangford Lough hosts an open race regatta. Then all the crews pile ashore to be fed sandwiches cake and beer at the host club. This was one well fed crew untying and heading home on a very misty day.
As a new crew for the P901-22 UP OCS gets ready to board at Stewart’s Crossing, a heavy eastbound B788-21 with a solid quartet of EMDs comes in for the Selkirk Receiving Yard from CP-FB.
The UP QNLBVJ with an ex-UP NS SD9043MAC, gets handed over to an NS crew at Villa Grove. They will take the train to Sidney, where it'll interchange with the NS and head east on the Lafayette District.
KCS 4807 leads the charge of the Eastbound CPKC I166 headed for interchange with NS at Meridian. We capture 4807 coming across the wooden trestle over Crew Lake.

The enginemen on 2996 'Victor' take a breather at Haverthwaite before moving off into the tunnel and returning bunker first to run around the train.
This was the most satisfying thing to build. I started with the large cockpit pieces and the traingular sign was the first part I tried to close the gap. It fits perfectly! The engine parts came immediately after and the harpoons filled the remaining spaces. All in all, only took several minutes to complete the exterior shaping!
It is a little smaller than would be realistic but I love it too much to change.
After a crew change at Cairo, Ohio, W030 heads north past the color position light signals at the north end of the Cairo sidings.
The crew on this concrete ship doesn't have much to do since being turned into a tourist venture. So, they like to buy peanuts, invite their scrub jay buddies over and watch the jays dull their beaks trying to hammer holes in the concrete to hide the peanuts. Gulls are mean like that!

The Fundy Predator takes a little jaunt out of the harbour. The crew is getting the vessel ready to drag for scallops as there was an opening the next day. Halls Harbour. N.S. Canada.
A westbound Union Pacific freight train rolls to a stop at Champ siding in Northeast Portland, Oregon. This is the Kenton Line, which bypasses Albina Yard. The train will change crews and proceed to Tacoma.
At Edmundston, New Brunswick, train 305 pulls up the the shops, where a fresh crew will continue the journey westbound to its next crew change at Joffre, PQ.

After getting back from our adventures with the Dodger and riding the Fort Smith Trolley we returned to Poteau where we would be spending the night again. With a couple hours of daylight left we lucked into a southbound train getting ready to depart and decided to give chase for our first look at Rich Mountain, the Kansas City Southern's own mountain railroad. Shooting trains on the KCS mainline was a core mission for our trip and the last two full days would be devoted to such.
From an elevation of about 500 ft the railroad climbs to about 1600 over the next 30 miles to surmount the Ouachita Mountains with the ruling grade topping out around 1.5%. This is not the most dramatic mountain crossing by a long shot, but it is a historic piece of railroad and challenging enough to put on a decent show worthy of a visit or two, particularly while it remains unchanged as the KCS.
Here is a MKCSH2 02 (second Kansas City to Shreveport manifest) on Main 2 paused beside the 1960s standard plan depot and yard office that are signatures of the original KCS. After a quick crew change they will throttle up for a quick run to Zoe before biting into the grade up to Page and Rich Mountain.

47773 makes a rare appearance on the Main Line hauling a 5Z47 Crew Training run that operated from Tyseley, heading out via Leicester and returning across the Castle Donnington branch on 23rd February 2023. The Spluttering Sulzer is seen ambling through Whitacre Heath on its return in some pleasant Winter Sunshine

Ook is Jaap nog voor controle naar Wpl Leidschendam geweest deze dag en blijft daar ook voorlopig, vanwege een familiedag.
De genodigden bestonden o.a uit mensen van werkplaats Haarlem en de sponsoren welke het afgelopen jaar hebben meegeholpen om de Jaap weer terug op het spoor te krijgen. Met deze allereerste rit met reizigers sinds jaren wilde Stichting CREW graag deze mensen bedanken.
CREW 2454 met ledig materieeltrein 70458 onderweg ter hoogte van Made naar Oosterhout om daar reizigers op te halen bij de Graaf Logistics.
