Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong

We’re experimenting with new ways to move animated creatures for our art projects and classes. Here’s a prototype of an animation stand I built with my associate Sarah Brewer, using laser cut wood and cardboard to make it move up and down, as if flying. My creative partner Jean Bolte is showing how we could add a pair of eyes to make the creature come alive.

This open-close mechanism was designed by maker HyunJoo Oh, who is working with PaperMechatronics.net and has graciously shared their detailed instructions with us. Much appreciated!

I have not figured out a name but they will be the focus of my two parter in my Doctor who brickfilm series

"CREATURE - the Dark Angel" is my newest 3D model for Poser5 + up. Here you see only a detail with my character "Old Man" (M2 / not available). I like to use M2 for crazy characteres. Allthough others look mor professional M2 is easy to deform and has an own trash-like scary look. More about this for renders including more figures it's easier to work and render.

"CREATURE" comes from the deepest space inside your hemispheres. There, where no word must be spoken and the souls will be weighed, you will get in touch with the last truth about human glory. Don't wish to go there. Only the innocents will be spared of this dreadful hell. For all others there's no way to escape.

purchased at the JJ markets in Bangkok. He (or she?? going by the flower on the ear?) doesn't have a name, and sits on my desk with a few other stuffed creatures that don't have names.

We're having family Christmas today, because by next Saturday, my sister and I will both be overseas. Mostly, I'm looking forward to drinking Moet.

I took these pics during the show "Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy," which played in Miami in March 2009. The show focused on four worlds, from the Disney movies "Cars," "The Lion King," "The Little Mermaid" and "Tinkerbell."
