Gordon's post has got me thinking about what I believe about the spirit world, and whether that belief gets in the way of what it's possible to do in that realm. The diagram is compelling in some ways, interesting in others, and very likely wrong in some fundamental way. The map is not the territory.

In the corner of the sky,
Tucked behind a cloud,
Is a place of unfathomable wonder.
There is one problem.
That is,
Where do you find a corner in the sky?
Perhaps easier to find is this -
The space under a levitating tree
If you are lucky,
You will find it.
For the tree will not pause,
Above the ground forever.
It will gently reach its roots
Back to the earth
And it will settle itself,
Grounded.
But,
Sometimes, when
There is a glitch in the Universe,
It will not settle.
And in that space,
Between ground and tree,
Amongst those gentle roots,
We will find a look
Into the place where,
Our imagination lives.
And we will take comfort
In knowing it exists.
And it will lead us to places within ourselves
Only before known, maybe,
To the imagination.

ChobeeWobee Village: brought by Kulturhaus. ChobeeWobee is a land of lands, curated to feed the soul; inspire creativity, community, and connectedness; and awaken the festival goers inner weird.
With my response to this assignment, I was interested in visualizing feeling sort of ghostlike within environments/surroundings and the tension that creates. I'm also always really drawn to interesting, unique lighting, and I wanted to incorporate that in some way. Adding the sacred heart added an element of contrast to the image that still played into all of the parallel lines included. All of these images are pieces of scanned negatives, prints, or pieces of my journal digitally composited together.
