A good night's sleep is a very important component if you want to have a productive day, but unfortunately sometimes that rest is hard to come by... so, why not play with your camera?

From my Rediscover Your Creativity Through Making Jewelry eCourse

Yarn-bombing at Spark celebration at Mesa Art Center.

This was such an interesting process.

I started to write everything that popped into my head, and ended up with a page full of "definitions" of what creativity is to me.

In the end, this one idea kept repeating itself, and was pretty much the foundation of every other sentences.

I tend to restrict myself so much : to what I think I should be or should do, to what I think I can't do or is out of my reach.

The truth is that most of the time, I'm the one who chooses not to step out of these self-imposed boundaries, mostly out of fear. When I do step out though, whatever the situation, it just feels so right.

So, for me, creativity is allowing yourself to be everything you can be, everything you choose to be, embrace all the possibilities, all the different routes, go beyond the

boundaries of what should be or what is expected and walk the other path.

The one that's truly yours.

Natural habitat = on my desk, so when I look up, I can see it right there.

After much deliberation I have decided on a title. It was especially hard because I wanted it to contain a lot of information.

My project is about how creativity has changed over time.

The imagery is outter space images paired with hand drawn illustration and futura typeface. Outter space is my immediate connotation of creativity-- but i think im a little weird, so I wanted to link creativity with space in the title. The concept that space is "undefined" is the word I chose to make that connection.

Is it working?

The only information I left out is that I am taking a very western perspective on creativity-- but i think that can be spelled out in a short description of the events.

OK... if you come to my photo stream with any regularity, looking for my photo for the day, you are aware that i haven't posted anything in about a week (give or take) the reason for that? creativity. or rather, lack there of. I'm a pretty transparent person. i wear my heart on my sleeve, always have. sometimes it gets me into trouble, but i think it's the best way to be. it keeps you honest, because no matter what words pass through your lips, the truth is always there on your face, and in your actions, to give you away. i love my creative side, it's good for my soul. it makes me feel productive and free and proud... but damn if sometimes it isn't elusive. no way i can force it..... not even with a "hail Mary" shot of a pickle.( joke with a few friends of mine... if you can't find anything else to shoot..... shoot a pickle, so you at least have something to post) my creativity is either there or it isn't. plain and simple. black and white. no faking it, just like i can't fake anything else very well.

i do have a few tricks up my sleeve tho, things that clear my head of the mess that's sometimes there, so there is room for my creativity again. sometimes its solitude and nature.... sometimes it's music and a beer.

this time it was corona and a song called "best of you"
