Last fall, a friend of mine did a special scrapbook and she had to come up with words or ideas to describe herself for each letter of the alphabet. Since it's always good to exercise your creative side, I thought it would be great to do it here on the blog.

An exhibition showcasing Algeria's creativity throughout history was held on the sidelines of the WIPO Assemblies, which met in Geneva from October 3 to 11, 2016.
Algerian Minister for Culture Azzedine Mihoubi and WIPO Director General Francis Gurry inaugurated the exhibition entitled "A Past for the Future" on October 3, 2016. The exhibition featured artisanal creations, handicrafts and expressions of traditional knowledge including clothing, art and jewelry.

I upload this to thank you all for your understanding, sensitivity and creativity with which you so often regaled me.
I photographed this small corner of our garden; I enjoyed creating it, now I have the joy of seeing it. I love the way the light plays with the circles. The incoming leaves are left in the composition deliberately, nothing is ever 100% perfect, why should it, those small imperfections can make something even more endearing and worthwhile!

Biting and satiric as well as scatching 'nails on the blackboard' comedy over the 'new' avant-garde art world, creativity and commerce.
Director PARKER skewers modern art from 1960 onward while winking that real art ended with the likes of Matisse and crew. Or is he?
Incredible HUNKY Adam GOLDBERG is the (rich, handsome, & beautifully dressed ) avant-garde sound-performance muscian who struggles for recognition while his 'art garbage producing' brother is making it in the 'decorator art' world, be it behind his art-gallery owning 'girlfriend'. (Is she his girlfriend? Is it art? Is it a slap at the face of modern art? or not? hey, what the helll is going on anyway?) (and since when are performance artists dressed SO CHIC?...All ADDA's avant garde pals were destitute and on welfare.)
A huge 'drag it thru the dirt' and stomp on it over the modern art business world...with all the pretensions and delusions of the artists (visual & sound), and their art.
The audience at first laughed and howled over the shredding of the bizarre goings on of the 1990's-ish modern art world shenigans, then one could feel the audience did not like the constant 'raking over the coals' pretension of the film !
As most folks, on flickr and, well, almost everyone in the real world, it is hard for an artist who has a vision of something exceedingly different to voice their vision upon the world. Acceptance is almost zero. (ie, VAN GOGH, and well, many artists...we wont even go into ADDA's FOUND OBJECTs..haha)
After awhile, the film felt more of spite on the sucess of artists than a humorous take on the modern art world.
Of course, the film in itself was incredible story telling with great acting by the 'misunderstood artist' HUNKY ADAM GOLDBERG. Though it was hard to believe his charater would sleep in what appeared to be 'long johns' underwear. (A chance to see ADAM in bed, and what's this...he's wear 100% wool snuggies?)
The worthy of an Academy Award performance was by the wonderful MARLEY SHELTON who does a dry gallery owner to the absolute T. It was like MARLEY was channelling ADDA's NYC pal PAT (paaaaaaa-trich--cha) with the chunky glasses and his 'artist' pal...(nameless) but his famous quote was "That painting does NOT transend paint! !
Truely if ADDA had ACADEMY AWARD voting rights, he would nominate MARLEY SHELTON for Supporting Actress! She truely had all the quirks of the big city gallery art authority. Some of her scenes had her 'hold back' her words of anger and MARLEY was able to express her vindictiveness with her body posture & eyes. She was the cinamatic treat in the film. (Even though her charater was a total nullipara, at the Q&A, MARLEY, in black patent leather pumps mind you!, happily announced that she was pregnant!)
The successful 'decorator art' brother Eion BAILEY was played perfectly where one could imagine the delusions of the 'decorator artist' assuming he is a 'museum-worthy' artist because his sellable 'art' hangs on walls of hotels & malls.
Sadly, the wonderful set up of the film, petered out real fast, then the overtelling of the same situation in different forms got to the audience who left before the director and stars appeared on stage. A chance to see ADAM GOLDBERG in person...after the film...humm, maybe not.
At the Q&A the stars were nice and forthcoming...and ADAM GOLDBERG extremelly likeable and humorous. Unfortunately, the director put off many folks including the cast by telling them he was going to change the film's title to NO YOU SHUT UP. One could see the discomfort in the actors and one could not see if his sincerity was true, sort of just like his statements in his film.

I'think photography is one of the most creative and at the same time passive type of art. What is the most important thing in art? Create! Create something Original, something new, something never seen before. But for photography is more difficult than every other type of art, because it's only a reproduction of something that already exists. Where is art in photografy? It's in the Photographer! Art in photography is located in the sensibility of the Photografer, who after a long improvment of the camera, is able to take fast-Photo at everything that catch his or her attention, giving the color tridimensionality that he/she wants, and producing the volumetric effect that desiders.
I take this photo in a moment in which I've never seen a man photoed before, so I make it thinking making something new,something extrimely realistic and easy,and why not selfironic.
As you know, I have been using Correct's index cards. I think this is the world's best index cards. And now, it seems my love call finally arrived to the Correct. :)

HPD pupils have now completed the Design Assignment task. This commands 50% of the overall course award.
We found this year's tasks, to devise solutions for people affected by natural disasters like earthquakes and floods, to be challenging and thought provoking. Everybody had to think outside their comfort zones.
The work shown here simply illustrates our pupils take on the briefs issued by the SQA and most pupils opted for Task 1, the need for a 'transportation device' to allow transit for bags of grain and/or jerry cans of water.
Two pupils opted for Task 3 which was to create a teaching and learning solution in the form of a chair that would allow displaced youngsters between the ages of 5 and 8 the chance to be educated in a chair with a built in writing surface. Low-tech but all modern day designers usually tackle the 'chair challenge' at some point in their career.

When I completed my 365 in January of 2012, I wrote these words as part of my conclusion: "Perfectionism stifles creativity. I don't think I realized how much this tendency is alive in me. I'm learning that imperfection is part of the process and valuable in its own right." It's two years later and I STILL struggle with this. I can't tell you how often I procrastinate about shooting because I don't have time to do it "right". So my camera sits in its bag...again. I want to learn to reach for excellence without holding so tightly to that goal that I fail to try ANYTHING new and creative. I want to learn to embrace imperfection as part of learning and remember that the value is in the process and not the product. This is in fact a large part of why I decided to participate in the project again. There will be weeks when I know I will be too busy to devote much time to being creative. I won't be on time with every submission. But I hope I will learn from my mistakes. And I hope I will learn something about balance. And I especially hope to focus more on the joy of shooting without being so critical of my work.
