Celebrating creativity and STEAM education and having fun with cardboard

The grouping for the Swap-Bot "10 Day Creativity Challenge." I had a great time -- it was really a push to make something different for 10 days in a row. A dear friend of mine died in the middle of the 10 days, and it was good to have a project to keep me busy. My partner gave me some great hints about herself on her blog, so I ended up doing an Amelie/gnome/mushroom theme. I really enjoyed the challenge!

The passion to fulfill the uttermost sensual desires of the self comes from the tangible and expressive qualities that emerge from nature. The abstraction of the pomegranate in this case brings soothing juxtaposition to human elements embracing the empolient connection with a natural element. The pomegranante, in a sensual, sexy way provokes a sense of desire, of creative, imaginative desire for a lust so forbidden. Yet the fruit of your desire is right in your grasp. All you have to do is look beyond the surface...and rub deep. You might be surprised what you discover!

Art is very effective in a specific area: it truly does change the way you think. This is something that is not easily explained or understood by somebody who isn't interested in the arts. Its true, artists look at the world differently than say,an athlete would, or a musician. Doing visual art forces you to think about how things look from different perspectives, at different angles, and to constantly make you question how you can improve a piece. It also tends to make you more imaginative in coming up with ideas and concepts for a work. Its simple, art therapy can open a whole new door of creativity to somebody who may not have seen the world in this light.
