Creativity refers to the invention or origination of any new thing (a product, solution, artwork, literary work, joke, etc.) that has value. "New" may refer to the individual creator or the society or domain within which novelty occurs. "Valuable", similarly, may be defined in a variety of ways.

I will be facilitating "Creativity Heals," a support group for people in any phase of cancer treatment (pre/during/post). The purpose of the group is to facilitate creativity as a coping mechanism.

Thanks go to Chronicle staff writer Nancy Kennedy and photographer Steve Lasko; LCSW and cancer navigator Wendy Hall, with whom I'm coordinating the group; and the Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute, which is hosting the group.

The doodle I'm photographed drawing can be seen here.

The "Art Gecko" T-shirt I'm wearing was done by Craig Swanson, a.k.a. Perspicuity.

I was drawn to this quote because I find it very true. Just as happiness is considered contagious, I believe creativity is as well. It was much easier finding the words and letters this time; I had many more options because I was able to zoom in and focus closer than before on my 35mm camera. Since it was a digital assignment, I was able to review my images and take multiples to make sure I had the correct images. I also did not crop any of my images. This is almost a "redo of the film assignment," therefore, I would say that I was able to redo any previous mistakes and fix them.
