What a “contrast” between when the euro was establish as a common currency and today. It seems that the entire concept of a “Europe union” is at risk. More than ever we can see how hard it is to balance culture, fiscal responsibility and political balance when the only thread is a monetary one.
“The most seductive thing about art is the personality of the artist himself. - Paul Cezanne”
Self Described Type “A” personalities: The theory describes a Type A individual as ambitious, rigidly organized, highly status conscious, can be sensitive, care for other people, are truthful, impatient, always try to help others, take on more than they can handle, want other people to get to the point, proactive, and obsessed with time management. People with Type A personalities are often high-achieving "workaholics" who multi-task, push themselves with deadlines, and hate both delays and ambivalence.

So excited with the Worldcup! As a Brazilian I fit the mold of a “crazy soccer fan”, or as know all over the world: Football! Not proud of so many crazy things leading to the biggest spectacle in the world finally held in my country after more than 50 years, but super excited to binge watch on one of the finest sports on the planet! COCA-COLA SIDE OF LIFE ART REMIX
Since its early days, Coca-Cola has played an eminent role in the visual culture of several generations.
By continually challenging artists and agencies to create images for its wide range of communication, Coca-Cola also functioned as a catalyst for creative expressions, right ideas at the right time…
The original Coca-Cola illustrations were drawn by masters as Haddon Sundblom or Gil Elvgren with their loving, magical touch. Some of the early Coke images are playful, romantic, cartoony, imaginative; others are trendy and stylized but they are always signs of their times.
The concept of the Remix project is simple. Every selected artist makes a “Coke Side of Life” Remix of historic Coca-Cola visuals and creates a new visual inspired by the brand and its soul, a thematic interpretation.

"Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. COCA-COLA SIDE OF LIFE ART REMIX
The Coca-Cola iconic artworks serve as a blueprint and inspiration for new design impulses. The creative potential of the Remix project aims to draw out the hidden child in all of us. Elements from early-day-visuals are picked out, cut and pasted into a new visual.
The combination of the iconic footage with the contemporary Photoshop / Illustrator styles gives the opportunity to rediscover these images anew. The visuals are recognizable as vintage Coca-Cola but yet have a fresh feel.
The work of the Remix artists reflects various styles, personalities and cultures and the project shows how vibrantly creative the collaboration of a design network can be.
The diverse backgrounds of the contributing artists have resulted in a multifaceted world of imagery that draws its freshness from the mixture of approaches. Their mission is to spread an optimistic look at the world and help people realize how contagious happiness is. By combining iconic Coca-Cola images with up-to-date illustration techniques and styles, the artists have given rise to a progressive style of visual expression.

Is she a Victorian pin-up, a girl next-door, a movie star, a party hostess, a factory worker or a swimsuit beauty? Her demeanor is radiant, vivacious and breezy. She exudes youthful energy and appears picture perfect wherever she goes, dressed up in the latest fashion.
When ‘Coca-Cola’ started in the 1890s portraying these independent women, it was still a uncongenial time for a girl with big ideas. Women were discouraged from thinking beyond household drudgery, and derided if they distinguished themselves. From these early days, ‘Coca-Cola’ has used the girl portraits in unique ways, always running miles ahead of the times. ‘Coca-Cola’ encouraged and inspired women to live their lives to the fullest and share life experiences.
Far away from the proper etiquette, the ‘Coca-Cola’ girl spreads her wings, chooses hobbies of the modern age and makes a lot of fun. She is traveling, sporting, sunbathing, inviting her friends over, flirting…
From the portraits of cheerleaders at the soda fountain to the ones of iconic actresses and women in flight suits: as a symbol of women’s emancipation, it could hardly be bettered.

Asa Griggs Candler, founder of the Coca-Cola Company, was also a real estate developer and banker and famous for his philanthropy. Born in 1851 as one of eleven children of a prosperous merchant and planter, Candler was brought up with strong religious beliefs and a firm work ethic.
Candler became a successful manufacturer of patent medicines, and in 1888 he bought the Coca-Cola production rights from founder John Pemberton. He immediately realized the business potential of Coca-Cola and acquired complete ownership of the Coca-Cola business for $2,300 by 1891. He changed the formula several times to improve taste, improve shelf life and insure he had a unique product, because several people had known Pemperton’s original formula. Within four years, Candler’s merchandising flair helped expand consumption of Coca-Cola to every corner of the United States. Using innovative advertising and distribution methods, Candler marketed this new product no longer as a medecine but as a soft drink. In 1908 the Coca-Cola script had been spread across 2.5 million square feet of walls and 10,000 windows displayed Coca-Cola signs.

In 1906, the ‘Coca-Cola’ company hired William D'Arcy, who set the tone of Coke's advertising for the coming decades. He held the view that "‘Coca-Cola’ advertising should create scenes that drew people in and made them part of the pleasant interludes of everyday life". D’Arcy showed pleasant people drinking ‘Coca-Cola’ while doing sociable activities such as shopping and playing games.
In the 1920s, ‘Coca-Cola’'s advertising began to reflect the prosperity of the times. Advertisements depicted the rising middle class participating in activities once reserved for the elite in society. An advertising poster shows a couple of friends, chillin’ outside at a party. An other cardboard shows a young girl being pulled on a board behind a boat. The advertisements created images that people aspired to emulate. And with the growing prosperity, such a dream was within everyone’s reach.
