Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world.

Some things are meant to be separated, (such as government and religion), but too often people forget the rules and mix them up, which usually generates more evil than good. A second interpretation is another dangerous (and unfortunately not so unusual) combination: Money and Faith…

Probably one of the most important events in the history of Brazil the “Diretas já” movement was the beginning of the end of more than 20 years of a brutal Military Regime. You can read more about here:

Can you guess the artist? LOL.
When I used to live in Brazil I used to travel a lot for fun. Usually the trip had a beach for destination since I lived on the north east of Brazil and I used to scuba dive and spearfish a lot. It became a tradition between me and my girlfriend (now my wife) to start every trip with the Bob Marley CD Legend, for me one of the best albums of all times. As some of you probably know, the first song of the album is… yes you guessed right: Is this love… this is my interpretation for this week challenge!

Here is a funny one. Papai Noel means Santa Claus in Portuguese. Once I finished decorating this one my daughter asked: “Is he going to understand Portuguese? I think he will since he travel around the world, right Papai (dad)?

Like many families we have some traditions during Xmas. I always make sugar cookies with the girls so we can leave some for Santa. I roll the dough and let them do whatever they want, using our cookie cutters, or just their imagination. After baking them, I tried to help them decorate with red and green icing. Here is the result of our work. I hope Santa enjoyed the gift as much as I enjoyed making them with my daughters.

Last week my oldest daughter Juliana had a home assignment: Create her own bug so she can bring to school and explain about it. I love this kind of homework. I actually made an all-family exercise were all of us made our own bugs. I put on the table markers, wine corks, toothpicks, matches, egg tray, yogurt empty container among other household common items. What you see here are my bugs and memories that will last for a lifetime!
