capturing the essence of a friend in an unexpected moment over lunch. a simple scene transformed into something deeper through the interplay of light and texture. the tight crop and unusual composition pull us closer, revealing a hidden story in every line and shadow. his gaze seems to stretch beyond the frame, capturing not just the viewer’s eye but their curiosity as well. the portrait celebrates his individuality, his quiet strength, and the beauty found in the ordinary moments between friends.

The Brussels Palace of Justice is the most important Court building in Belgium and is a notable landmark of Brussels. It was built between 1866 and 1883 in the eclectic style by architect Joseph Poelaert.
The Palace is the most massive building constructed in the 19th century. It is bigger than St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The building is currently 160 by 150 meters and has a total built ground surface of 26,000 m². The 104 meter high dome weighs 24,000 tons. The building has 8 courtyards with a surface of 6000 m², 27 large court rooms and 245 smaller court rooms and other rooms.
Situated on a hill, there is a level difference of 20 meters between the upper and lower town, which results in multiple entrances to the building at different levels.
PS: The streets are really like shown above!

Evening Traveller
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
Sailing thru the deep
Somewhere there around
Hours to moment keep
Nowhere is still there found
Flowing away today
Page by page morning
On oceans wave play
With its weave of yearning
Dreams are there still
Coming to their light
With new hours to fulfill
At the seashore sight
Drifting there by along
Oceans waves in glows
In its magic on song
That no one still knows
Primes in to and fro
All through its hours
As these instant’s go
And new thoughts empowers
Dark in its leading shade
In freshly colors revolve
To each essential made
For new time to resolve
Royal Observatory of Greenwich is an observatory situated on a hill in Greenwich Park, overlooking the River Thames. It played a major role in the history of astronomy and navigation, and is best known as the location of the prime meridian, which gave its name to Greenwich Mean Time. The observatory was commissioned in 1675 by King Charles II, but there had been significant buildings on this land since the reign of William I. Greenwich Palace, near the site of the present-day Maritime Museum, was the birthplace of Henry VIII; the Tudors used Greenwich Castle, which stood at the top of the hill, on the same land that the Observatory presently occupies. The Castle was reportedly a favorite place for Henry VIII to house his mistresses, so that he could easily travel from the Palace to see them.

For those of us located in the northern hemisphere, today is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, which occurs when the North Pole is tilted farthest away from the Sun, delivering the fewest hours of sunlight.
With winter now upon us, work is winding down, and families will soon reunite to celebrate the festive season together. This year, I'm escaping the cold and wet days of London to hopefully catch some sun in southern Spain and document some of the local festivities there.

Also known as the Great Indian Desert or Marusthali (Land of the dead), the Thar Desert forms a natural boundary between India and Pakistan.
We reached the famous Sam Sand Dunes on camelback, in time to witness the stricking beauty of the soft and soothing light at sunset, when the sand turns to gold and the shadows begin to reveal the intricate patterns left by the wind.

This is most definitely composed ... "sit down, don't move, smile!!" is the normal way of catching a photo of little Joshua with his big cousin, Lewis!

Another walk, another bridge.
I went for some "silvertone" processing to create a wintery feel ... I'm envious of all the snowy pics I've been seeing.
...Dreaming of a sunrise composition somewhere...sometime...some how.
It's time to unplug myself from this dream and do it. ....But since it's been raining; having a cup of coffee in my dream helps when waiting. Until then; messing around in a somewhat creative way with photo editing. ;)

I shot this while working on a yearlong photo-a-day project which also coincided with a lot of changes in my personal life, reflecting on the important things, and setting new goals. There's nothing more helpful then taking time to walk the countryside and surrounding yourself with nature, in order to listen to your soul.

I grew up in Puyméras, a small village of Provence, a place where the pace of life is quite different. Whenever I feel stressed, riding the crowded London tube to work, I just close my eyes and drift back to the carefree days of my youth, if only for a few minutes, enough for my soul to take a deep breath. Photography helps me immortalize those moments of “fresh air”, taking me back in time, or to a different continent, and allowing my soul to breath again.

Located in London's Notting Hill neighborhood, Portobello Road hosts an incredibly interesting market, very popular with the tourists. The market began as many other London markets and sold mainly fresh-food in the 19th century; antiques and wares dealers arrived in the late 1940s and '50s, and gradually antiques have become the main attraction of this market, especially on Saturday mornings. The market seems to inherit the lively colors that make Portobello Road and Notting Hill such an interesting place to explore. This lonely leaf on an empty vendor's cart really caught my eye, adding a sense of season to my story of this colorful place.

No story behind this shot, which I captured during one of my photowalks to the colorful town of Villajoyosa, on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. The geometry and colors really caught my eye as I made this fun composition.

One of a great many flowers my mother received for her 91st birthday. This tulip broke off but is still being appreciated in its foreshortened form.

This is a tiny kitten I found in a street in Braives, Belgium. He was totally lost and scared. With a little help, he finally got back to his family safely... On the picture, I tried to give the baby a huge presence (emphasizing the eyes' expression) and make him look even more fragile... but still willing to survive.

Little by Little
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
There is always some sign
Giving me purposes letting me find
Little by little I will reline
Reaching my highway leaving behind
All that's nothing without or strong
Penny are wasted never again
Let there be something in this song
That gives me a heart not searching in vain
All or nothing is how I was born
Reaching my aim and my desire
Thoughts are wasted some are wind-borne
Taking their dream higher and higher
Here I'm wanting like everyone distinct
To go ahead cause I gotta find out
We have our time before we go extinct
What we can do what it's all about
Little by little I'm gonna look
Though I don't know exactly where
Aiming for something play by the book
Taking the steps that I might dare
Give what I can before it's too late
Reaching a goal reaching a dream
Isn’t life indubitable oh isn't it great
Everyone going ahead with their scheme

Mornings to Be
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
Coming in brightness
Mornings to be
Everything is fresh
For my eyes to see
Lighten up flowers
And everything beneath
Day breaking hours
White bridal wreath
A song called love
Awaken the trees
With breeze from above
To blow and please
A night to other day
Returning to shine
Wind with clouds play
At the horizon line
Welcome - give a kindle
Let life now awake
Darkness swiftly dwindle
On sunny side take
Gather into the mist
Colors from the wood
Beaming dismal gist
This in shadows stood
Sweet the morning comes
Ensign pale and young
The dark away strums
In blissful rousing song
Oh give regards to dreams
Those were in twilight
Castle clouds regimes
From star and moonless night

Listen to Me
A poem by Katie Gabrielle
Just an ordinary man
In an anonymous street
Tapping my fingers
To a familiar beat
Listen to me
I have something to play
Music is my soul
On this wonderful day.
I'm just a faceless man
In a hurry up street
Just stop a minute
And listen to me
I have something to say
That could make your heart
Happy on this wonderful day!
As I tap out a happy tune
You will be singing soon
And maybe you'll
Stay awhile
I'm just an anonymous face
On a hurry up street
Listen to my music
And dance to my beat.
Listen to me
You'll be glad you came
Music and joy
Are one in the same.
Today is Earth Day, a day of awareness and support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970 across the USA, Earth Day events are now held in more than 193 countries worldwide. On this date last year, the landmark Paris Agreement was signed, allowing for the implementation of the climate protection treaty. As Earth day nears its 50th anniversary, we must continue to fight for a clean environment with increasing urgency, as the ravages of climate change become more apparent every day...

Frozen Carillon
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
Everything hurts inside
Even the snowy snow
Dreams that tomorrow abide
As they come here and go
Everything falls to die
That was all living before
We have our laughter and cry
But nothing to reassure
Safe me from being wrong
I´m still so lonely here
Sadness in weak and strong
Everything goes to a tear
Love shall be aimless again
Inside from its afar deep
Dryness from its fountain pen
No words forever to keep
Broken arrow so miserable
Release my heart from hurting
All its steps conquerable
In its many ways asserting
Now love’s like cock-crow bliss
With the early light things on
Summer tributes reminisce
In its ricochet frozen carillon

Cedar fever is essentially a seasonal allergy. Pollen from the cedar tree, like many other allergens, can cause an inflammatory response in your body.
When you inhale cedar pollen, the substances in the pollen trigger your immune system.
Although the pollen itself is harmless, your immune system generates an inflammatory response to block what it sees as a potentially dangerous intruder. This is similar to how it protects you from viruses and bacteria. It very rarely causes a fever.

Under longest heatwave in 20 years, London parks offer the perfect places to escape the blazing temperatures. As I explored Regent's Park, I came across this semi-hidden corner, surrounded by trees, which seemed to be an ideal spot to disconnect from the city's busy streets and overpacked tube carriages. Right behind the trees is the park's open-air theatre, which is the oldest, professional, permanent outdoor theatre in all of Britain, a great place to listen to concerts or watch comedy plays in the summer evenings.
