Many 'tiraniditos' look alike superficially. Modern specimens that include song, genetic and ancillary data (physiological, behavioral) are instrumental in disentangling the evolution of these organisms and their distributional patterns, and uncover hidden diversity in the tropics. Continue collecting of biological specimens and supporting research in museums is essential.

The three on the left are the types of Myiopagis olallai, the fourth is a female of an unnamed taxon in Myiopagis caniceps (sister to M. olallai), and the one on the farther right is a female M. caniceps cinerea

INTO INFINITY : an exploration of on and on and on and on....

dublab & Creative Commons invite you to explore the wide possibilities of forever! INTO INFINITY is an art and music exhibition built on audio loops and visual circles. These elements are open to in-the-moment manipulation and available for remixing and resubmission. INTO INFINITY is a creative movement that sends inspired echoes into the future. Stay tuned for live exhibition dates and website developments.

"EYE"

We distributed blank, white 12" paper circles to our wide community of inspired artists to fill with vibrant visions. These infinite loops have amazing potential to shine and blow minds.

"EAR"

We asked a diverse spectrum of music-minded friends to contribute 8-second sound loops with any ambience, tonality or texture they desired. These loops expand in open ears.

Two monks at the hilltop shrine of the Wat Tham Seua (Tiger Cave Tempel), Krabi, Thailand

Came in here, released under a Creative Commons licence.

These are "light paintings", made with the camera at low light setting, so a long shutter speed with movement creates all sorts of cool patterns. Most of the ones in this set were done the night we went driving around town looking at Christmas lights. I've already uploaded the set of "normal" Christmas light pictures. For me these are actually way more fun! I'm setting all of them as creative commons, they are VERY fun to play with. Some of my abstract or altered images started as light paintings, maybe combining aspects of several. If you use these a credit and a link back would be great. And if you could post your new image under the one you used as a comment, that would be way fun!

I do these on the highway at night too (as a passenger of course!) They're a fun way to pass the time and some of them turn out quite fun.

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Firefighters Association honored 36 year LAFD veteran Captain II Paul Egizi as their 2022 'Firefighter of the Year' at a well attended luncheon ceremony on April 20, 2023, at the landmark Biltmore Hotel.

Paul joined the Department on February 8, 1987, and held the ranks of Paramedic, Firefighter, Apparatus Operator, Captain I and Captain II. In addition to serving in fire stations throughout the City, he has worked in special duty assignments at the Training Academy and Air Operations.

Wanting to contribute even more to the City and his community, Paul served as an Explorer Advisor for several years. He is also a member of the LAFD's Field Incident Management Team as Air Operations Branch Director, and has been involved in key projects and essential development committees.
