These are "light paintings", made with the camera at low light setting, so a long shutter speed with movement creates all sorts of cool patterns. Most of the ones in this set were done the night we went driving around town looking at Christmas lights. I've already uploaded the set of "normal" Christmas light pictures. For me these are actually way more fun! I'm setting all of them as creative commons, they are VERY fun to play with. Some of my abstract or altered images started as light paintings, maybe combining aspects of several. If you use these a credit and a link back would be great. And if you could post your new image under the one you used as a comment, that would be way fun!
I do these on the highway at night too (as a passenger of course!) They're a fun way to pass the time and some of them turn out quite fun.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA - The men, women - and canines of the Los Angeles City Fire Department were actively deployed during late summer and early fall of 2020 to massive wildfires across the western United States. Among those sent forth have been highly trained LAFD members assigned to California Urban Search and Rescue Regional Task Force 9 (CA-RTF-9), including human remains detection canines Veya and Charli, seen here at the massive North Complex Fire in northern California that spanned Plumas, Butte and Yuba counties, to perform the dolorous task of safely and respectfully recovering those who perished in the flames.

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Firefighters Association honored 36 year LAFD veteran Captain II Paul Egizi as their 2022 'Firefighter of the Year' at a well attended luncheon ceremony on April 20, 2023, at the landmark Biltmore Hotel.
Paul joined the Department on February 8, 1987, and held the ranks of Paramedic, Firefighter, Apparatus Operator, Captain I and Captain II. In addition to serving in fire stations throughout the City, he has worked in special duty assignments at the Training Academy and Air Operations.
Wanting to contribute even more to the City and his community, Paul served as an Explorer Advisor for several years. He is also a member of the LAFD's Field Incident Management Team as Air Operations Branch Director, and has been involved in key projects and essential development committees.

En el parque de los niños. Los colores y las textura. Me parece que los detalles muestran un extraño mundo.

Happier than a pig in filth, Dirty Baby (TM) (Batteries not included) is guaranteed to look manky even after repeated washing!
There is something ineffably creepy about dolls. Unwanted and discarded dolls moreso.
This dirty besom was lying on the skip in the scrap yard.
After 9.30pm... empty seats on rides for little ones... they've all gone home to sleep. I'm sure I would have had nightmares with a green monster like that looking at me while I whirl round on a gentle ride. Sponge Bob was on the other side!

Most boats moored here face being sunk either by the 12 foot waves that come in off the sea during storms although the river floods (which exits through the harbour) are a greater hazard still to the ever optimistic mariners.
In loving memory of Robert Tait Little who died Sept 19th 1907 aged 85 years.
Also of Jane, wife of the above, who died July 26th 1917 aged 78 years. At rest.
In 1871 Robert Tait Little walked from Scotland to Exmoor, herding the first Scottish Blackface sheep down the droving roads on foot. He remained here with his wife Jane, and their children Robert, John, Ellen and Thomas.
