Elephant Hawkmoth caterpillar in the rain on the patio, enlarging image shows numerous parasitic lice or mites on it quite clearly. After taking this picture I carried it into the wood, but did not even know it had passengers until I saw the picture on the computer screen. Taken 20/9/2011 in North Devon.
