2013 went by so quickly and there were many fun creative times which all enforced the fact that I love art and I love felt making and I really like to do it with my friends, family, and class participants....being together and being creative is all part of the fun!
patched the Girl's jeans by placing a bit of blue and yellow Liberty fabric from Joey under the jeans and randomly machine sewing it to the jeans. She's pleased ... says it looks like boxers! :-)
Creative Critters is closed. The building is on East Main Street in Coats, North Carolina in Harnett County.

t Ailand is ‘een eiland, gebouwd door vissers en gevoed door de zee’, en werd opgebouwd naar het idee van twee bijzonder gedreven mensen. Op de dijk in Lauwersoog creëerden ze een authentieke plek met eigen sfeer, een plek ook met een prachtig uitzicht over het wad en de Waddenzee, maar dat is bijzaak. Waar het hen vooral om gaat is bewust, eerlijk en lokaal eten vangen, leveren en serveren. Barbara Geertsema-Rodenburg en haar man Jan hebben veel oog voor de natuur en dragen het wad een warm hart toe. Daar was ik tijdens Natura 2000 bijeenkomsten wel van overtuigd geraakt. Zo werd jaren na dato mijn interesse gewekt om daar op een vrijdagochtend eens een kijkje te gaan nemen. Wat ik zie overtreft mijn verwachtingen. Kunnen zij ons dezelfde dag wel ontvangen, dat was voor mij de vraag. Het antwoord luidt een duidelijk ja.
Als ik op het afgesproken tijdstip binnenga zijn alle tafels op één na bezet. Die ene tafel staat naast een grote kast vol boeken over de Waddennatuur. Veel tijd om een boek in te kijken krijgen we niet. Het gerecht met rode poon staat in een handomdraai op tafel. De zorg die aan het eten besteed is betaalt zich uit, maar als de borden kunnen worden afgeruimd gaat het personeel juist aan tafel. De gezelligheid straalt ervan af. Het is tegen sluitingstijd. We kunnen blijven, maar de koffie laat nog even op zich wachten. We horen gesprekken in vele talen. Eten bij 't Ailand is meer dan een maaltijd bestellen en lekker eten. Het is een unieke ervaring.
