a stop sign? berries? apples? nail polish? lipstick? a reflector on the end of a driveway? a rose? a fire hydrant? ugh. nothing. nothing inspired me for today's challenge...
until we went to dinner.
the lamp wasn't red, but the ceiling was...and i looked "afresh" at what we normally take for granted. see runner up in comments

I started with my photo of the breaker finishing one of his dance moves.
The image on the ground is one i took of two women crawling on the floor for a shoot. i used the polar coordinates on that image and blended it using the various techniques learnt. I used one of the watercolour effects we got in the bonus section and some light renders on it as well as zoom effect. I used topaz to bring in a ghost effect on it and just used some of it. I used another picture i had taken of a band with their lights and used that as at a low opacity to help as extra subtle lighting points through it all. I added a texture layer that i took of a frozen buddle with some stones and applied that as well! Finished with one of the frames from the bonus section

One of my business resolutions is to blog a bit more using Flickr. This last year (2012) Has been crazy. On a personal note there has been a baby wondering about creating havoc and wonder in his wake. On a more professional scale there has been shoot after shoot of wonderful work. The kind of work that when I joined flickr I could only dream of. Now I have come full circle January's chill gives me some much needed down time, some time to review my business practices and admin. but also some time to get in some creative shoots of my choosing. I shot this today and I am just going through the set. I couldn't think of a better image to start off 2013 with from a personal project.

The Story of the Gallery
The gallery was established in 1992 in Fuhais ( in order to activate the cultural movement in the small city, trying to make creative space concerns about place and people, by giving a priority of beauty, environment and enlightenment of the rural attractive region.
During the last years,the gallery has presented, and still is, a very important kind of activities, especially the exhibitions of plastic arts for the most famous local and Arab artists. It was expanded many times,in addition of preparing several both traditional and modern style halls, some artists consider the gallery as a museum of their indefectible art work, such as the Egyptian artist Bahgory.
Through its activities the gallery has presented many exhibitions for many Arab artists and sculptors, like:
Alfred Hatmal, Sakher Farzat, hussain Bakar, Ali Taleb, Fargaly Abd Al-Hafeez, Issam Tantawi, Ahmad Nawar, Wijdan Ali, Etab Horaib, Bahjat Othman, Hammodah Shantout, Nazeeh Abo- Afash, Fawzi Al-Dulayme, Mohammed Al-Jaloos, Sana Kayyali, George Bahgory, Ashly Maning, Salam Kan'an, Samah Hajawi, Monketh Sa'eed Birt Hairmens, Mohammed Al-Shamary, Hassan Mousa, Yousef Abd-Elky, Emad Hajaj, Mona Al-Sa'oody, Mohammed Mahr Al-Deen, Mohammed Nasser Allah, and others.
The gallery has also launched the "Synergy of rivers" cultural project between Arab countries, which represents a pioneer idea gathering between experiences of artists and writers from Egypt, Iraq, Syria with their colleagues in Jordan, the project produced a number of books, exhibition and activities.
The gallery's activity is not consecrated for Plastic Arts exclusively; there are also literature and music evenings, not to mention producing documentary films, all of this is organized in an atmosphere intimacy and familiarity.
The gallery is the home of the creators and art supporters from all over the world, it is visited almost every week by a writer or an artist.
In the archives of the gallery there are photos, writings, and visual audio testimonials of those who where charmed by the loving intimate ambience, and always return again.
مؤسسة رواق البلقاء ولدت في الفحيص في العام 1992 , وهي مؤسسة فردية فنية هدفها نشر الفن وثقافاته وفي الشارع العربي لترتقي به الى العالمية . وذلك من خلال أهتمامها بالتراث والموروث الحضاري مبتدأة بترميم البيوت القديمة وكل مايتعلق بها من تاريخ , والحفاظ علها من الأندثار والضياع بتوثيق القديم ليصل بصورة سليمة الي المتلقي مستمدة ذلك من شعار " الي ماله قديم ماله جديد " . فقد بدأت المشوار بترميم مجموعة من البيوت في منطقة الفحيص لتسمى فيما بعد بحارة الرواق وشملت على صالة عرض متميزة أستضافت عدد كبير من الفنانين العرب والاجانب أمثال : حسين بيكار , بهجت عثمان , الفرد حتمل , جورج بهجوري , أحمد نوار , فرغلي عبد الحفيظ , وجدان علي و يوسف عبدلكي , عتاب حريب , منى السعودي, متقذ سعيد , محمد مهرالدين , علي طالب , والكثيرين ممن وضعوا بصماتهم على لوحة الحضار. بالاضافة الى الندوات الشعرية والامسيات الموسيقية وعرض عدد من المسرحيات . بالاضافة الى محلات بيع التحف والخزفيات والكتب وكل مايتعلق بالفن.
الا ان الطموح لم يتوقف عند ذلك الحد وأستمر الي ابعد من ذلك ليصل الى اصدار الكتب الفنية وعددها ثماني كتب لفنانين عرب هم جورج بهجوري , فرغلي عبد الحفيظ , سناء كيالي , عماد حجاج وأمجد ناصر وافلام وثائقية " سيرة قرية " للمخرج معتز جانخوت و " لص اللحظة " للمخرجة راما كيالي وتصوير لقاءات ثقافية مع العديد من الادباء و الفنانين مثل : أدونيس , انطوان كرباج .... واستمر الابداع وقامت تلك المؤسسة بتجميل فندق الفورسيزنز- عمان باللوحات والخزفيات وكذلك فندق شيراتون معرة- صيدنايا حتى وصلت الى مرحلة تأسيس الفنان الشاب ودعمه ليرتقي بالمستوى الفكري في العالم العربي ويعمل رواق البلقاء على وضع اللبنات الاولى لتاسيس متحف في مدينة الفحيص بالتعاون مع بلدية الفحيص وسيبقى ذلك الابداع الي مالا نهاية .

patched the Girl's jeans by placing a bit of blue and yellow Liberty fabric from Joey under the jeans and randomly machine sewing it to the jeans. She's pleased ... says it looks like boxers! :-)
