Bristol LS / ECW OBD 904 had been new to United Counties in June 1957 and is seen here at Luton's Castle Street Depot circa 1970 wearing the Tilling era cream and green coach livery. Whilst several of this batch were preserved, it appears OBD 904 was not so lucky.

The Comal County Courthouse is located in New Braunfels in the U.S. state of Texas. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in Comal County, Texas in 1976 and designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1993.
Comal County has had two courthouses. The first was designed by Wilhelm Thielepape and completed circa 1860, but had deteriorated in condition by the late 1890s. The current Romanesque Revival style courthouse was designed by James Riely Gordon and completed in 1898 by contractors Fischer and Lamie. Gordon, along with another San Antonio architect Albert Felix Beckmann, submitted bids to replace the courthouse designed by Thielepape. In addition to reviewing the bids, the county commissioners traveled to Gonzales to assess the architectural quality of the Gonzales County Courthouse, a work designed by Gordon and completed in 1896.
Although the current structure has been somewhat modernized, and the original roof replaced, the basic structure remains the same. At the entrance, the original wood door has been replaced by a modernized glass and aluminum door. The exterior is of native limestone, and the southwest main two-story circular entrance balcony is supported by pink granite columns. The rear entrances have three-story quarter-circular bays. The ironwork on the interior centralized open stairway is the original. Atop the three-story building is a corniced stone tower.
ROSWELL, N.M. Nov. 16-19, 2020. — U.S. Marshals-led Operation Washout led to 73 arrests, the seizure of 17 firearms and 5,955 grams of illegal narcotics. This 4-day violence reduction operation is part of a national initiative called “Triple Beam” aimed at both reducing violence and dismantling gangs in cities across the country.
“The high-impact initiative represents intense effort by all area law enforcement partners who are committed to making our communities safer and to aggressively reduce violent crime,” said U.S. Marshal for the District of New Mexico, Sonya K. Chavez. “The cooperation demonstrated in this operation clearly showcases what we are capable of when we work together to safeguard and protect the public from those who endanger it.”
Agencies participating in the operation included: U.S. Marshals Service; Roswell Police Department, New Mexico State Police, the Fifth Judicial District Attorneys Office, Chaves County Sheriff’s Office, Eddy County Sheriff’s Office, Lea County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, Lea County Drug Task Force and the Pecos Valley Drug Task Force (both are HIDTA initiatives), the Jal Police Department and the New Mexico Department of Probation and Parole.

We stayed in a small suite at Fernwood Farm near Ellison Bay. Owned by two marvelous people, Bill and Linda Kelly, the farm sits on 38 acres of meadow and trail-cut woods. Bill mows part of the meadow to allow for some easy hiking, but leaves the rest to the grasses and wild flowers.

Anyone for some home canned squash? We found this sitting it the doorway of an outbuilding near an abandoned farmhouse in Marion County, Georgia. It looks like someone found it back in the dark recesses, cleaned it up, and placed it there recently. I have no idea how old it may be. It's probably still there if some brave person wants to taste test it.
Northeastern Napa County. This is the road between Lake Berryessa and Clearlake, about 80 miles. Some 30 of those miles are primitive as seen here. It is a trip every landscape photographer should take.

This 1928 theater is the zenith of a particularly American, particularly exuberant, building type, the movie palace. Patrons enter the flamboyant Fox, designed by theater architect C. Howard Crane, through a five-story lobby, ascend a grand staircase guarded by plaster lions and dragons, and enter a 5,042-seat auditorium where monkeys, peacocks, serpents, horses, and strange deities cavort among Moorish arches under a “tented” ceiling. The décor and the sounds produced by the “Mighty Wurlitzer” organ with its 2,700 pipes make the feature attraction – no matter what it is – take second billing.

This is the new Banks County Courthouse located in Homer, Georgia. It was built in 1987.
"Banks County, in northeast Georgia, is the state's 129th county, comprising 233 square miles. The county was created from portions of Franklin and Habersham counties in 1858 and was named for Richard E. Banks (1794-1856), a circuit-riding surgeon who treated white settlers and Indians in the area, developing a good reputation among the Cherokees for treating smallpox. The land that became Banks County was originally held by the Cherokees, forming a border territory between the Cherokee Indian Nation and the newly formed United States of America. The western border of Georgia (from the top of Currahee Mountain to the southernmost branch of the Oconee River) was marked by a strip of felled trees, twenty feet wide, established with the Cherokees by the Treaty of Augusta in 1783. The northern boundary was the Chattahoochee National Forest."

The Banks County courthouse in Homer was built in 1987 to replace the county's original courthouse, which was constructed during the Civil War. The new courthouse stands on the block directly behind the site of the original courthouse. Banks County Courthouse Its first courthouse was built in 1863, reportedly with $6,600 in Confederate currency; it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Saved from destruction by a campaign to restore the old building initiated by a Banks County High School student, it now serves as a museum and community meeting hall, after a new courthouse was built in 1987. Homer, which replaced New Lebanon as the county seat, was incorporated in 1859, and is reported to have been named after Homer Jackson, an early settler."

On Friday, November 13th and Saturday, November 14th, 2009, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department hosted the 14th Annual Police K-9 Competition & Public Safety Fair at Harveston Community Sports Park in the City of Temecula. Police K-9 Teams from all over the Southwest United States including California, Nevada, the United Sates Marine Corps and the United States Border Patrol participated in the event. The competition lasted two days and included a narcotic detection competition on Friday and a patrol competition on Saturday. Seventy-seven (77) K-9 teams participated in Friday’s narcotic competition and fifty-six (56) K-9 teams participated Saturday.
