Countdown to Halloween
“This is looking great,” Ursula said as she and Sam were admiring the decorations.
“I love it when a plan comes together,” Sam replied. “Soon the music and dancing can begin, the food will arrive for the party, and we’ll all have a good time. And all the cargo containers, including the decoy ones, had all the things needed for the party. Thanks for your idea of combining this party with the ghosts. I think they’ll have a spooky good time, too.”
“But what about Petty Officer Third Class Gozman? We can’t let him go without some kind of punishment. After all, he betrayed us.”
“That’s why he is still a Petty Officer Third Class. The Coast Guard will take care of any demotion in rank he will receive based on our report. In the meantime, he will be spending this Halloween in the brig entertaining the spiders, and a ghost will gladly guard and haunt him!” Sam breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that things have worked out to this point.
“But something seems to be bothering you, Sam. What is it?” Ursula could tell by observing Sam’s manner of reply.
“I can’t really say what is bothering me about this year’s Halloween party,” Sam slowly admitted. “I mean, it was fun doing this detective work to find the missing containers and all, to do the tracking, to catch the ghosts, and then joining them into planning this big party. But somehow something is missing.”
Ursula thought for a moment. “I think I know what you need, Sam. Come with me.”
The introductory song ended, the lights came up, and another great hit was introduced by the drummer, Wolfman. Soon the whole band joined in, playing and singing (and as for Llamaman, skating around). Once the lights did come on, everyone realized that the floor had been painted to look like a giant spider web.
“Again, Mr. Mitri did it again!” Marsha exclaimed. “These decorations are great. What a way to have Homecoming on Halloween night!”
“I agree,” Jeffry replied. “It’s like the old days when there was a committee to do all the decorating, but then they only had so much money to spend. I wonder how much this all cost.”
The music continued and Jeffry and Marsha danced, even having one part of the dance where they would hold hands. There seemed to be a bit of magic in the air at that moment, but there was also some other magic going on.
“I see Robby over there,” Marsha commented. “I do hope he’s enjoying the music at least. He wasn’t much for dancing.”
Jeffry glanced over his shoulder, but noted that Robby’s attention was directed behind Marsha. “I wonder what has Robby’s attention. He doesn’t seem to be really getting into the beat of the music.”
Meanwhile, Robby has been gazing across the gymnasium. He sees someone whom he had thought he had seen throughout the evening, but this time, it appeared as though he was seeing double.

Countdown to Halloween
“Okay, ghosts,” Ursula commanded. “What is the dock number?”
“Dock 13,” was the reply heard from all three of the ghosts.
“That’s a good number,” Ursula chuckled to herself. She contacts Sam Shoegum by radio to tell him the dock number.
“I’ll have the police meet you there,” Sam replied.
“But we need that container so we can have our Halloween party,” the one ghost said, almost crying. You could hear the chattering of ghost teeth as they shivered with fear. They were in fear of the helicopter’s propellers as they would be blown away quickly.
“We want our party too,” Ursula replied. Then she got thinking. “I may have an idea.”
Sydney Black, another newcomer to the world of cinema, is talking with Poppy Devine about his role in the epic Indie film, 'Afraid New World'.
Poppy : " Rumor has it that you were a bit surprised by all of this."
Syd: "Yeah ... who knew... I was just coming down here with a model friend of mine, Monaco, who wanted a part in the movie. To make a long story short, the director said I had 'The Look' and now here I am. It wasn't even supposed to make it big. And like everyone always says; I'm just happy to be nominated!"
Poppy : (laughs) " Well the movie sure did make it big! Good luck to you tonight. Who are you wearing, by the way?"
Syd: " Ah ... this is a friend of mine from home, Akis .... he's here tonight too."
Mr. Hangar, the high school Principal, calls everyone’s attention after they have gathered in the foyer of the old gymnasium. “Hello, everybody!” he called. But the talking continued as so many people started to greet and visit. “Hello, everyone!” he yelled. Still, everyone seemed to ignore him. “HELLO! EVERYONE!” he yelled even louder.
“Hey, guys, quiet!” Robby announced at the top of his voice. Still, no one quieted down. “It’s just like ten years ago,” Robby said to the principal. “No one seems to listen to you.”
“Sad,” Mr. Hangar replied. “I wonder, do you have any tricks up your sleeve that we can use to get their attention?”
“I think I do. Hangar on.” Robby kidded, knowing this always got Mr. Hangar’s goat.
With a few clicks on his keypad, Robby connected to the school’s public address system. Then, in a deep, haunting voice, he said, “All of you… Be…. Quiet…. NOW!”
In a matter of seconds, the talking stopped. Everyone was stunned.
“Looks like you got your dead silence now, Mr. Hangar,” Robby said loudly.
Everyone laughed. The talking continued. Now both Robby and Mr. Hangar are perturbed. Mr. Hangar only wanted to tell everyone how to get to the dance floor as there had been some damage done in the one hallway that led to the gymnasium. By walking another way, they could get there, but he had to give them instructions.
Robby had an idea, but he couldn’t tell Mr. Hangar about it. He hoped Mr. Hangar would catch on and take the opportunity to give his announcement. He clicked a few more keys on his keypad and the lights flickered. There was a sudden rush of wind, and then a deep voice, deeper that before, started laughing.
“Ha….Ha…Ha….Ha……” Now the talking stopped, The lights turned off completely. It was sudden darkness. Then the voice continued, “Listen, and listen well. Your life depends on it…”
Then the lights went back on, Robby nodded to Mr. Hangar, and he was able to have everyone’s attention. He gave the announcement. “Thank you for your attention,” he concluded. The talking resumed.
Mr. Hangar went over to Robby and thanked him for the special effects. “That got their attention.”
“Yes, it did, at least the sound of the voice,” Robby said, but began shaking. “The other effects, the lights and the wind…”
Mr. Hangar interrupted him, “Those were great. I didn’t know you could program that in your keypad.”
But Robby hadn’t.
Marina Bay is a bay near Central Area in the southern part of Singapore, and lies to the east of the Downtown Core. Marina Bay is set to be a 24/7 destination with endless opportunities for people to “explore new living and lifestyle options, exchange new ideas and information for business, and be entertained by rich leisure and cultural experiences”. It is here where the most innovative facilities and infrastructure such as the underground “common services tunnel” are built and where mega activities take place.
The URA Master Plan for Marina Bay aims to encourage a mix of uses for this area, including commercial, residential, hotel and entertainment, to ensure that the area remains vibrant round the clock. All developments in the area aim to promote the 3 premises of Explore, Exchange and Entertain:
Explore – New living options. Numerous high-end residential developments are in the pipeline, including One Shenton and Marina Bay Residences which will complement The Sail @ Marina Bay to provide a seamless work-live environment at the heart of the city.
Exchange - Hub for global business. When completed, Marina Bay will double the size of the existing financial district, further cementing Singapore’s position as one of Asia's leading financial centres. It will provide 2.82 million square metres of office space, equivalent to the office space within Hong Kong's main business district, Central.
Entertain - Kaleidoscope of activities. In 2010, the opening of Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort provided more entertainment options to the area, along with the other existing entertainment and shopping districts like Esplanade, Suntec City, Marina Square, Raffles City Shopping Centre.

Cheetz: “Where on earth have you been? We were worried about you!”
Clutz: “Yes, I was getting hungry again waiting for you to come back with that cat. So, where’s the cat?”
Playtz: “Yes, where’s that cat?”
Fritz: “Well, about that cat... It seems that two sisters were looking for that cat because it was theirs.”
Cheetz: “So you let them have it? You fool! That was our one ticket to getting a dragon for this year’s Halloween party.”
Clutz: “Does anyone want a piece of this sausage?”
Fritz: “But the good news is I ran across Tasha. She told me she could help me find a dragon.”
Playtz: “Please tell me you didn’t run into her again.”
Cheetz: “I remember the last time you and her got involved. It was a mess, with madness, mayhem, and mischief all wrapped in one.”
Fritz: “Yes, but she did promise to help us! You have to give her some credit.”
Playtz: “That’s up for discussion.”
Clutz: “Sorry, guys. I was hungry. I’ll have to cook another sausage if someone wants one.”
Cheetz: “I’m going to have to call my ‘business associates’ now. We can’t wait any longer.”
The countdown is on... a new year coming!
Enjoy bringing it in, and the very best to you all in 2014.

The first of the performers was Farmer Timothy Hay and his band, “Keyed Up”. They performed a few old Kenny Rogers’ hits, like “Coward of the County”
“The Gambler” was one song the crowd begged Timothy to sing, and he did well.
His final Kenny Rogers' song was his favorite: "Lucille."
But typical of what Timothy Hay would do, he would provide an encore. But it started out sounding like he was going to sing “Lucille” again, but then the audience saw the old tire on the stage, and then they heard the lyrics. Then they got it.
In a car in Minnesota, a rusty Toyota
He just got done fixing his flat.
I thought I’d get closer so I pulled on over
He just let it down off the jack.
He looked at the spare and said in despair
“I hope that those lug nuts are tight.”
And let me tell you, daddy, I’d like to drive a Caddy
Were the words as he got in and drove out of sight.
On the freeway I saw him and I closely watched him
His front wheel started to shake.
He did a one-eighty and hit an old lady;
She ended up in the lake.
He flew off the ridge and into a bridge
For a moment I thought he was dead.
But he stood a kickin’ just like a dead chicken
He turned to the old car and said:
You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel.
You should be bolted to my automobile.
My legs are broken that old lady’s soakin’
It might take me six months to heal.
You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel.
(Key Change)
After I left him I started to question
If I should be driving at all.
So I sold my car now I don’t go far
And sometimes I don’t go at all.
The heel was loose on my old pair of shoes
And finally one day it let go.
It happened so fast; I feel on my (***)
Now my butt’s in a sling, and there’s a cast on my toe.
You picked a fine time to leave me, loose heel.
I feel like I slipped on a banana peel
I don’t get much action lyin’ here in traction
How did I get such a deal?
You picked a fine time to leave me, loose heel.
The audience applauded with great laughter!

Wesson and Lugosi recover from their transformation and discovered they landed, in all places, in a cemetery. But not just any ordinary cemetery. It was right next door to the haunted house where the big party was being held on Halloween night!
By this time, Jack has joined up with Parker to tell her that he thinks he's rounded up all the ghosts in the neighborhood. "Outside of a few leftover skeletons, I think we'll be safe tonight." Everyone was relieved that this year's Halloween party would be better (and less spookier!) than last yer. But, wait a minute...don't we want parties to be spookier?
Now they had to decide who among them was going to go first. "Let's do the Rock-Paper-Scissors routine." Wesson had heard of this method to determine who would go first in a group of people.
After teaching them the moves and the rules, they all started to shake their fists. One--Two--
But then a creaking sound was heard behind them...

Countdown to Halloween
“What do you mean you don’t have the other container?”
“Well, I tried to get it before the boat ran aground, but people were coming and I could only take this one.”
“Do you know what that means?”
“I guess that they won’t have all the pieces needed for their big party.”
“NO! It means we can’t have our party! Now, contact your informant and find out where that other container is and get it! Time is of the essence.”
“Aye, Aye, sir!”
