Had this idea for a while but just didn't get around to doing it until now that is. Got this idea from a friend who was telling me about botox breakfasts ... though i'm sure its nothing like this :-)
WEEK 13 – Mansfield, OH, Target (IV)
Finally for today, now that we've made it past the optical and pharmacy departments, here's a peek into the remaining areas of the store that we've yet to cover in this long-lasting stour: cosmetics in the foreground and, excitingly, grocery just beyond that (then the exit). Just why is that exciting? Well, stick around for the next (last) photoset from this store coming up in two weeks, and you'll find out! :)
In the meantime, next week – wrapping up our tour of the old Southaven Books-a-Million before being able to move on to the new location...

The central part of the store, between groceries (to my right) and clothing (to the left), is somewhat of a hodgepodge of different items. Combined with the lower ceilings, the multitude of hanging department signs makes this area feel rather cluttered.

Remodel, Week 8
Last up from Walmart comes this scene – cosmetics without its makeup, so to speak (ba-dum-tss). The home reset didn't look to be finished – in fact, the main actionway from the left-side vestibule to the rear of the store is nonexistent currently due to so many dislocated shelves and pallets of stock – but the remodel crew is moving on anyway, what with this and sporting goods. Actually, in these cases it's more than likely store employees just carrying out the resets rather than a remodel crew, but you get my point!

Wooden cosmetic boxes
The lids of boxes attached at the back open to reveal compartments for cosmetics. The box could be secured by winding twine around the two knobs at the front.
The elaborate decorations of cosmetic boxes were intended to imitate more expensive boxes inlaid with ebony, ivory, and perhaps cedar or mahogany.

And to finish out the week here at the Bartlett Walmart, black décor signage I've not seen in any other new remodel before. Cosmetics is sandwiched between health & beauty and lawn and garden, along the front wall in this particular store. This is what would be considered the classic Walmart location of pet supplies, and even some pets themselves back in the day: "hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, cockatiels, parakeets, and zebra finches" among other animals, according to a comment posted by a former associate at this photo, in my former Sycamore view Wal-Mart photo series.
While the week-long celebration of the Bartlett Walmart grand reopening has now concluded, I still (like nearly always!) have many more photos of this store, and will very likely post some more sometime in July...

Thanaka is a yellowish white cosmetic paste made from ground bark. It is a distinctive feature of Myanmar seen commonly applied to the face and sometimes the arms of women and girls and to a lesser extent men and boys. Thanaka cream has been used by Burmese women for over 2000 years. It has a fragrant scent somewhat similar to sandalwood. The creamy paste is applied to the face in attractive designs, the most common form being a circular patch on each cheek, sometimes made stripey with the fingers known as patterned in the shape of a leaf, often also highlighting the bridge of the nose with it at the same time. Apart from cosmetic beauty, thanaka also gives a cooling sensation and provides protection from sunburn. It is believed to help remove acne and promote smooth skin.

This section looks pretty weird with only a couple things left...
Former Walmart #4342, Bedford, Ohio
This 207,000 square foot Walmart Supercenter store was open from March 2008 to January 28, 2016. The store was remodeled in September 2015 to have the current interior look and exterior signage. These photos were taken on the final day the store was open (January 28, 2016).
I will post more of these pictures at a later date. I have THOUSANDS of various photos I keep meaning to get posted on here. I want to get back to posting on a regular basis again.
