The unbelievably colourful Burano, one of the islands in the Venice lagoon, where every house is painted a bright shade of blue, yellow, pink, purple. Put this with the washing flapping in the breeze, the window boxes of red geraniums, and the painted saints in their wall niches and you feel like you're at a permanent festival.

Granada, the oldest Spanish-built city in the isthmus, was once the jewel of Central America. Major restoration and repainting of the town in pastel colours mean Granada is now one of the most attractive town in Nicaragua.

Asahidake, a stratovolcano, is the tallest mountain in Hokkaidō, Japan. Part of the Daisetsuzan Volcanic Group of the Ishikari Mountains, it is located in the northern part of the Daisetsuzan National Park.
Once a Trabocco was a fishing machine apt to intercept the passing fishes. Nowadays this activity is no longer profitable. So many of these Trabocco were converted into fish restaurants as the Trabocco Sasso della Cajana in Rocca San Giovanni.
