I don't know what to say... my film cameras keep failing me one after the other. First the Canon AE-1 Program, then the Zenit ET, and now my "new" replacement AE-1 Program (after only 3 roles shot, mind you). Not lucky picking my cameras.
These two are from the last roll I shot with the Zenit ET, back in October. The mirror is stuck and won't move up on pushing the shutter release. I tried to find the source of this malfunction to repair this, but couldn't identify what's broken.
So, two abstract pictures. One should have been a pink sunset, the other must have been the curtain of my window.
Anyway.

MIRI. On the balcony with my cats waiting for the Sun to play its games with the clouds. This year there are many very particular sunsets and I am taking advantage of the situation.

Asahidake, a stratovolcano, is the tallest mountain in Hokkaidō, Japan. Part of the Daisetsuzan Volcanic Group of the Ishikari Mountains, it is located in the northern part of the Daisetsuzan National Park.
Hallstatt is only a small village that you can explore by walk within a few hours. Anyway I love to stay here again and again for taking this spot.

One of the things I love about Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) is the contrast between the volcanic rocks, the ocean and the cloudy sky. Aspects of nature that face each other in an endless embrace.

... Threatening cliffs rising high up from the lake. And there, high above the lake a hint of light flickered through the trees, momentarily disappearing, then showing up again. Then a screech, and all quiet again filling the air with suspense. What could it possibly be, such a strange sound? ... #etbtsy
... As it got darker yet a bit of chill arrived on the scene and it was increasingly difficult to keep warm. A slight breeze blew over the lake disturbing the total silence as the lake responded with a slight rocking motion adding a gentle hum. And then that sound again, stronger than before, yet even more mysterious ...

Dolichopodidae, the long-legged flies, are a large, cosmopolitan family of true flies with more than 7,000 described species in about 230 genera. The genus Dolichopus is the most speciose, with some 600 species.
Dolichopodidae generally are small flies with large, prominent eyes and a metallic cast to their appearance, though there is considerable variation among the species. Most have long legs, though some do not. In many species, the males have unusually large genitalia which are taxonomically useful in identifying species. Most adults are predatory on other small animals, though some may scavenge or act as kleptoparasites of spiders or other predators.
An expanded concept of the family (Dolichopodidae sensu lato) includes the subfamilies Parathalassiinae and Microphorinae. The latter of these was formerly placed in the Empididae, and was at one time considered a separate family (Microphoridae).[5] However, some authors propose instead that Dolichopodidae s.l. should be known as the epifamily Dolichopodoidae, containing Dolichopodidae, Microphoridae (restored as a family) and the subfamily Parathalassiinae.[6]

Dolichopodidae are a family of flies ranging in size from minute to medium-sized (1mm to 9mm). They have characteristically long and slender legs, though their leg length is not as striking as in families such as the Tipulidae. Their posture often is stilt-like standing high on their legs, with the body almost erect. In colour most species have a green-to-blue metallic lustre, but various other species are dull yellow, brown or black.
The frons in both sexes is broad. The eyes are separated on the frons of males, except in some species of Diaphorus and Chrysotus in which eyes touch above the antennal insertion.[7] On the heads of most species the ocellar bristles and outer vertical bristles are well developed.
