100x walks #35 & for Sliders Sunday
Coppers is a good mile walk from my front door and serves as a 'village' store, but also has a deli and sells dozens of different cask and bottled beer. I could live there. HSS!

Kleiner Feuerfalter (Lycaena Phaeas)
Lycaena phlaeas, the small copper, American copper, or common copper, is a butterfly of the Lycaenids or gossamer-winged butterfly family. According to Guppy and Shepard (2001), its specific name phlaeas is said to be derived either from the Greek phlego, "to burn up" or from the Latin floreo, "to flourish".

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on or fav my photo, it's very much appreciated! HMM
It was wonderful to catch this small copper on the freshly browned bracken for a real autumnal feel :)
For Macro Mondays - Copper
I tried a few images with copper wire but was not happy with them so raided the plumbing spares drawer in the shed.
Happy Macro Monday!
Scarce copper butterflies pack.
Bright gold-red on yellow flowers. Beautiful colors of nature on sunny day
Grassland Copper Butterfly (Lucia limbaria)
It was great to see good numbers of these in the Sneydes Rd. Paddock this morning.
A tree filled capture with wild stark grasses leading up to a line of trees and forests.
Just experimenting so my artistic approach to seasons with auburns, oranges and yellows in mind. Kind-off experimentation of autumn in spring if I may be indulged. Wasn't sure about this one as not 100% happy with the tree-lines which is bugging me (regret!) but hey ho its all about sharing & getting feedback on my journey to become a better amateur photographer.
One of the biggest challenges is coming up with an images title. I'll use this till something better comes to mind.
The seagulls were plentiful at this bridge over Alaska's Copper River, near Chitina. Sunset was waning and they were pretty aggressive. Some young were on the shoals below the bridge and they were being protective. I enjoyed their dive bombing stunts and angry calls. Wish they knew I wouldn't harm any critter or bird.
Thanks to your visit. Always appreciated!
Macro Monday theme - Copper
Some of my crushed penny collection from our travel adventures.
Happy Macro Monday!
Shot for Macro Mondays "The Periodic Table" theme. These are two threaded copper pipe fittings. I had originally shot a circuit board with a high amount of copper but on a trip to the home improvement store I walked past these copper pipe fittings. When next to each other, they seemed to glow. The two pieces side by side amplify the beautiful colour.
Thanks for viewing and happy Macro Monday!
Grassland Copper Butterfly (Lucia limbaria)
This is the third season that I have seen these beauties in the Sneydes Rd. Paddock. This one looks to be recently hatched as its white fringe on the wings is still developing. This time I wasn't worried about not having the macro lens with me, it is almost impossible to get withing 15 feet of them. They are similar in size to the Common Grass Blue.
Happy Wing Wednesday!
A small Copper was very approachable just before sunset.
33:52 Nature up close – This one is a macro. You can get down low and shoot what you see from the ground, or any flower, weed, leaf, water, or tree. Just not manmade….
