Site of an old Copper Mine.
Parys Mountain dominated the world's copper market during the 1780s, when the mine was the largest in Europe.
The Copper mine is very much older than that. It was mined for copper ore in the early Bronze Age, as shown by sub-surface debris nearly 4,000 years old revealed during excavations in 2002.

For the Macro Mondays challenge "Copper" (May 20th 2019)
A small section of a copper bracelet. The fine copper wire slides through the two twists so you can widen or close the bracelet to fit your wrist.
Texture: MixPixBox Natural sun overlays
There's a shot of the whole bracelet in the first comment field, along with the the size-guide I use for MM.
HMM to everyone, and have a great week ;o)

These are 2 small medals of landmarks: on the left you see the medal of the "Saalfelder Feengrotten". It's an old mine in the near of my home where alum was mined.
And the right one is from "Beelitz Heilstätten", an ex-sanatorium for consumptives.
At these places you can find small "machines", where you can coin these "coins" :-)
(Base: 5 Euro cent which are composed of copper-covered steel)
I wish you all a HMM!
Copper Basin Railway Tracks along the Gila River East of Florence Arizona. For you Dwight Yokum fans, A Thousand Miles from Nowhere. The mountain is called North Butte.
The leaves are wonderfully golden in winter, making the Copper beech my winter favourite as it adds colour to any winter day!
This sunny, windy day in January didn't look like midwinter - though it did feel like it ;o)
Shot with the Helios 44-2 lens
Textures my own and Jai Johnson "Expressions"
The map function seems to have totally failed - so the shot was taken at Fyvie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. In the grounds of Fyvie Castle there is a small loch, with a wooded loch-side walk.

Ran across this Copper-Tailed Skink while walking around the Walkabout Wildlife Park in Calga, Australia.
I spotted this mint conditioned Small Copper on the ground in a little opening through some vegetation. I couldn't get close enough to use the macro so had to use the 200-500mm instead, not the ideal lens for a small butterfly I know. However, after being cropped the result is pretty good I think.

Having seen the weather forecast which was for sunshine, I got up extra early (8:10am) and headed out to Westhay to catch the beardies... And failed. I did see eight in a group, but they vanished off into the middle of a vast reed bed never to be seen again. And once again I ended up in the car park at Catcott. Always tomorrow...
Last year at Shelter Cove.
Happy weekend! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.

Copper Canyon (Spanish: Barrancas del Cobre) is a group of six distinct canyons in the Sierra Madre Occidental in the southwestern part of the state of Chihuahua in northwestern Mexico that is 65,000 square kilometres (25,000 sq mi) in size. The canyons were formed by six rivers that drain the western side of the Sierra Tarahumara (a part of the Sierra Madre Occidental). All six rivers merge into the Rio Fuerte and empty into the Gulf of California. The walls of the canyon[1] are a copper/green color, which is the origin of the name. - Wikipedia
My father was born in Atlantic Mine in the northwest region of Michigan's Upper Peninsula here, native copper was mined from 1844 to 1967. We spent summer vacation visiting relatives in the region known as the Copper Country from 1959 to 1974. These six nuggets of native copper came from one of the mines in this region which I keep on display which keep me connected to family and our past.
I crafted the "grass" out of strands of 16ga electrical wire. I cut a small length of wire off and pulled the individual strands out. Then I bent them over in half. Once I had enough of them, I used a hot glue gun to keep the strands all together and make a small "plant." I then bent the strands over in a gentle shape. Then it was just a matter of applying the water drops in front of a reflective background and adding light.
Pretty simple, huh?
This is a 23 image photo stack using a new tool in my kit that I got for Christmas. A macro focusing rail or "slider." With it I can make very small adjustments to the focus by moving the entire camera forward ever so slightly. These are very small adjustments with this specialized tool.
Shot using a Canon FD 50mm f3.5 SSC Macro Lens, plus the 1:1 Canon FD 25 U extension tube. Shot at full 1:1 magnification. Each image was shot @ f4.
