In the kitchen of Monet's home in Giverny, against a backdrop of tiles from Rouen. Imagine the work to keep those copper pots shining!

Happy Monday! Take care and stay safe. Thanks for stopping by and for all of your support -- I deeply appreciate it.

This was taken on a short back road excursion close to home. That is Old Rag mountain in the background.... easy to see how The Blue Ridge mountains got their name! Loved the copper roofs on this farm house and barn!

One of my favorite birds from our trip to Trinidad this month was the Copper-rumped Hummingbird. To our delight there were many hanging around the Asa Wright Nature Centre showing off their beautiful colors. This particular individual was the first bird I photographed on the trip, what a great way to start!

We will be doing this trip again in spring of 2019, if you think you might be interested more information is available here: www.texastargetbirds.com/group-photo-trips/2019-trinidad/

For this weeks challenge "Monochrome One Color" I was having trouble finding something i liked until I saw the two copper bowls sitting on own counter.

Not great at naming butterflies. I'm happy to be corrected if I have it wrong!

A bunch of cattle either seem more interested in me or eating grass then seeing the Butte local roll by on its way north! Running under the ID of LMON2351 13I with MRL 4400 leading the way, the Butte local has left Deer Lodge and is now on the home stretch to Garrison where they meet up with the 3rd Subdivision.

The Small Copper is a fast flying butterfly that is unmistakable with its bright copper-coloured forewings. It is a widespread species and a familiar and welcome sight for many naturalists throughout the summer months. Though it remains a common and widespread species, the Small Copper declined throughout its range during the twentieth century.

Only a record shot but this was my first of the year and possibly my earliest ever. At Hankridge on the edge of Taunton.

Nobody will believe this, but as I was taking this shot two coppers 👮‍♀️👮 (and yes they were both small) came up behind me to ask if I'd seen a tent which they'd been sent to find. I thought about getting them to pose with the first small copper but by then it had flown :-(

Butterfly.

Species: Lycaena phlaeas.

Many thanks to people who view or comment on my photos.

A trip to photograph Brown Hairstreaks last week proved fruitless. However, this posing small copper made up for a lack of opportunities with the Brown's. Go large.

the macromonday theme for 5/20 is copper (bronze and brass are ok, too)...... "Bronze and brass are acceptable as is oxidized, tarnished or corroded metallic copper such as verdigris but copper-based chemicals such as copper sulfate or Schweizer's reagent are not."........ artistically this one might be the best but i think i'm going to go with the copper fly- oh, my
