The cooker, with a unit each side, will go on the right of this picture.. breakfast bar over the units you can see
you can't tell, but this is an action shot. made lentil soup last night in this, it took 40 minutes start to finish, I mean prep to a clean counter. today I cooked sweet potatoes in 5 minutes (added it to the leftover soup). mom hooked it up, she liked her old timer cooker and passed this more modern one along to me. I grew up with one of those jiggle-top cookers, it was like a rocket was on the stove and it was about to lift off. never did, but I bet a bunch of people have stories of peas on the ceiling.

My brother Rex is really into cooking. He got this rice cooker for his birthday many years ago and still makes rice at least once a week.

This is the space where the cooker will go in my new kitchen. It should be just wide enough for a standard 60cm unit and I'm intending to get an induction cooker. It may be necessary to move the cupboards across a bit to provide more wiggle room but I expect that should be reasonably easy to achieve (at least for some of my friends who know a bit more than me about DIY).
