We had an hour to kill, so we went to a little beach park in town and cooked up some hot dogs for the kids while they played.
This universal lid has a wide black rim that does an excellent job of toasting the buns in about 5-10 minutes.
Here's the rice cooker I used to cook the eggs. I think they are best when they are just cooked, not actually boiled. It leaves the whites much more tender and the yolks keep their bright yellow color without getting the green tinge around the edges.

Met up with Flickr member krstl_blu in Robbinsdale for a cold afternoon shoot, this is the old beehive cooker seen in Graeser Park, one of only two left along Highway 100 in Minnesota. The other beehive is in St.Louis Park and has been completely restored and can no longer be used to cook, as seen in photo below.

This was an interesting one because I thought it was a lost cause. The end of the film broke off the spool and I wasn’t able to rewind. Somehow, when this happens I end up with a light leak affecting the last few frames on the roll. This was the very last frame and badly light leaked with a huge reddish purpley gradient across it. I managed to resolve this with a gradient layer of an opposite colour. You can still see the light leak near the top but most of the image looks fairly natural. I suppose this simultaneously exposes a strength and a weakness of chemical film capture.

It was time to retire my little Aroma and trade it in for a bigger one. I make my Quinoa in this and it turns out great. My little Aroma is still good so I'll be making Black Garlic in that very soon. I love that stuff! I'm planning on starting some Kimchi in this one very soon!
Rice cookers are the greatest. I couldn't live without mine. Just set it and forget it until the button pops.
Put some teri chicken in the funnel cooker at 2:45 and it was done an hour later. Two marinated boneless, skinless chiken breasts with garlic and ginger spread on top.
The thermometer needle is partially obscurred by the circular design in the glass lid but shows just over 225F.
Here is some corn that I bought at the farmers market, and cooked up in my solar cooker.
I used a home made Cookit, with a granite ware pan and coooking bag.
It took about two hours and was perfectly done!
Met up with some friends at the beach and brought along two cookers.
Were able to cook up enough hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets and taquitos to feed 5 kids and 4 adults.
I can't remember the last time I had hot, perfectly crunchy taquitos at the beach.
The nice thing is that you can go for a swim and not have to worry about burning the food.

An Induction Cooktop - In an induction cooker, a coil of copper wire is placed underneath the cooking pot. An alternating electric current flows through the coil, which produces an oscillating magnetic field. This field induces an electric current in the pot. Current flowing in the metal pot produces resistive heating which heats the food. While the current is large, it is produced by a low voltage.
An induction cooker is faster and more energy-efficient than a traditional electric cooking surface. It allows instant control of cooking energy similar to gas burners. Other cooking methods use flames or red-hot heating elements; induction heating heats only the pot. Because the surface of the cook top is heated only by contact with the vessel, the possibility of burn injury is significantly less than with other methods. The induction effect does not directly heat the air around the vessel, resulting in further energy efficiencies. Cooling air is blown through the electronics but emerges only a little warmer than ambient temperature.
