Norfolk Southern 10K is seeing crawling towards the Auburn Street Crossing located in the CP BURN Interlocking on April 4th, 2021 with NS SD70ACC #1814 in charge, NS D9-44CW #9588 trailing second and NS AC44C6M #4226 as the Mid-DPU
One of the easy tells over the radio to know if you've got the "push-pull" coming is the radio call "Diverging Clear - Approach Diverging". CN 8808 takes over the northbound responsibilities from the BCOL 4615 at Neenah North.
BNSF SD70ACe #9375 and CP ES44AC #8751 line up at Bryn Mawr with two northbound CP freights as they wait for a southbound coal to clear up. UP AC4400 #6692 is on the rear of the coal train.
We had just started shooting. This was probably the fifth picture of Irene I took. It was promising already, I'd say.
East Bernard was once a 8700' siding protected by former SP bowling ball trilights at each end. However, a PSR lengthening to nearly 15,000' has brought about the end of these 40+ year old signals. But back in 2015 they still stood fast and beckoned trains at this lowly siding on the Sunset Route west of Houston.

Weird red clouds build up over the Coburg Hills after sunset at the north switch of the Alford siding near Halsey, Oregon.
Southbound freight was waiting to head down the Cascade line but was too long delayed. The light was so pretty I thought I would post this even without a train. Dougren is south of Springfield and the first siding on the new alignment around the Lookout Point Reservoir.

As several batches of low clouds drop snow on the surrounding prairie, UP 8037 east eases up to the signals for Global 3 where the stack train will leave the mainline and conclude it's trip across northern Illinois. This unsettled spring day provided many types of weather as attested to by the frosted coating on the pilot.
