AYA has been left largely untouched and has been under the care of mother nature for as many as four years.
She's a radio controlled helicopter, a Kyosho Caliber 3.

This is the “HobbyKing Quadcopter Control Board V2 (Atmega168PA)” [QUAD-CON16K] board. It’s bases on the KK control board. It contains three Japanese Murata piezo gyros for roll, pitch and yaw that are meant to be less sensitive to vibration than other gyros. The board has an Atmega168PA micro controller.
The board is meant to stabilise the quadcopter during flight. While there is documentation and I understand some of it I’m still struggling with this board. Adjusting the pots for roll, pitch and yaw is proving difficult but may not be the cause of my failing to fly.

Controlled Chaos
In chaos theory, control of chaos is based on the fact that any chaotic attractor contains an infinite number of unstable periodic orbits. Chaotic dynamics then consists of a motion where the system state moves in the neighborhood of one of these orbits for a while, then falls close to a different unstable periodic orbit where it remains for a limited time, and so forth. This results in a complicated and unpredictable wandering over longer periods of time.
On the second to last day of my vacation, November 2, I went to the Morton Arboretum and found they were having a "Controlled Burn". Of course I had to park and take some pictures of this—something you don't see everyday at the Arb. I was thinking of naming them "Cheech and Chong Visit The Arboretum" but decided on the more conservative naming convention.

Graphic illustrates two main endpoints of damaged mitochondria in a cell. If detected by the cell’s quality control mechanisms, proteins signal the cell’s disposal system and the mitochondria is degraded. If not detected, the damage can lead to the ejection of mitochondrial DNA fragments that alert the cell’s system for detecting pathogens. These then trigger the inflammation cascade.
Cells have several quality control mechanisms to remove dysfunctional mitochondria. One important mechanism involves the proteins Parkin and PINK1. When a mitochondrion is damaged, PINK1 and Parkin recruit a phagophore, which engulfs the organelle and begins the process of degrading it. When such quality control systems fail, damaged mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) can escape from the mitochondria. (How this happens is still an open question, but it may exit via special pores or through ruptures in the mitochondrial membrane). Once released, mtDNA fragments can activate molecules such as cGas-STING or inflammasomes, both of which sense foreign DNA from viruses and other invaders. This, in turn, can increase production of cytokines and cause inflammation.

Yesterday it looked as if Mr Fox was destined to a future without material goods.

The alignment algorithm evidently knows to sacrifice those control points that it considers hopeless. This view indicates the discrepancy between the control points. Those that align well are shown as dots. Those that could not be aligned are connected with lines showing the residual distances.
This begs a question: why didn't I ditch the second frame? I tried. The result was even worse. However awkward its orientation seems to be, it helps to join the frames 1 and 3 where it matters most — at the skyline.
The distance view makes it easy to understand the orientation of the original frames. For example, it shows very clearly that point of view of the second frame (of which only a portion is visible) was a few steps away from the more-or-less shared point of view of the other frames.
This screenshot is best viewed in the original size because the dots and lines are one pixel wide. They vanish when the image is scaled down.
