I Liked the contrast of the grass foreground and the dark trees, dense trees in the middle.

I was taking photo of that dog, all of a sudden the little girl at the background stretches her back holding an iPad on her hands looking up. The little girls funny gesture makes an interesting contrast to the dog that quietly looking straight at my camera.

This image was taken back in the early stage of autumn back in October at the woods near Stourhead.

I was fortunate to be able to capture the golden colours of autumn before Mother Nature decided wind and rain would be best.

The transition of colour was something that was noticeable. I wanted to capture this transition against the ever green forest or vice versa. To achieve this I adjusted the focal length to move further into the landscape and adjusting the composition.

The Transall C-160 is a military transport aircraft, produced as a joint venture between France and Germany. "Transall" is a German abbreviation of the manufacturing consortium Transporter Allianz, comprising the companies of MBB, Aerospatiale, and VFW-Fokker. It was initially developed to meet the requirements for a modern transport aircraft for the French and German Air Forces; export sales were also made to South Africa and to Turkey, as well as a small number to civilian operators.

In July 1977, France placed an order for 25 aircraft to be built to an improved standard. Production work for the new variant was split 50-50 between Aérospatiale (the successor to Nord) and MBB (which had absorbed VFW and HFB), with a single assembly line in Toulouse. The first second generation C-160 took flight in 1981. Aircraft produced in this batch included 29 for France (an additional four non-standard aircraft were constructed for special missions), and 6 for Indonesia.

The C-160 remains in service more than 60 years after the type's first flight in 1963. It has provided logistical support to overseas operations and has served in specialist roles such as an aerial refuelling tanker, electronic intelligence gathering, and as a communications platform.

The C-160 has been replaced in French and German service by the Airbus A400M Atlas, and by a small number of Lockheed-Martin C-130J Super Hercules operated in a multinational unit. More info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transall_C-160

and here: MBB, Nord Aviation and VFW formed the Transall group in 1959 for the development and production of the C-160 for the air forces of France, Germany, South Africa and Turkey. Production of the aircraft by the three companies ended in 1972, with 169 aircraft having been delivered. [Courtesy - www.airforce-technology.com/projects/transall/]

The Ricoh has a really great High Contrast BW Filter it is able to apply to JPEGS. Normally not an effect kind of shooter, but the look it gives is really unique. Tried mimicing the look, but decided to post a few with the effect on and some personal tweaks.

Enjoy!

The City of New York, often called New York City or simply New York, is the most populous city in the United States. Located at the southern tip of the State of New York, the city is the center of the New York metropolitan area, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world.

A global power city, New York City exerts a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. Home to the headquarters of the United Nations, New York is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world.

Situated on one of the world's largest natural harbors, New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a separate county of New York State. The five boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island – were consolidated into a single city in 1898.

New York City traces its origin to its 1624 founding in Lower Manhattan as a trading post by colonists of the Dutch Republic and was named New Amsterdam in 1626. The city and its surroundings came under English control in 1664. New York served as the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790. It has been the country's largest city since 1790.

We spent a week in New York City in May, aiming to explore the city beyond Manhattan and enjoy vibrant moods of this never-sleeping megalopolis.

Walking is arguably the best way to explore the city, and combined with large subway system one may spend weeks still not having visited and seen everything.

Here, typical Manhattan contrasts are shown - photographed from the Manhattan bridge.

I rather liked the juxtaposition between the cheery yellow flower and wall, and the razor wire. The blue sky added a bit of color contrast.

Two vests, two jackets, full gloves on the ride in this morning, in five degrees C and fog; tipping twenty degrees on the reverse route home. Stopped to smell the roses (was exactly the opposite of that olfactorial experience) and watch the farmer farm. For a day not a kick in arse off of October, this is most welcome indeed.

Part of the Azabudai Hills complex in Tokyo, Japan, this building showcases a refined approach to urban architecture. Its rounded vertical panels and golden-bronze facade create a striking interplay of light and shadow, adding depth and character to the structure. The building is seamlessly integrated into its surroundings, with a tiered base that connects to the pedestrian-friendly spaces of this mixed-use development. The metallic finish contrasts beautifully with the glass-and-steel skyscrapers nearby, emphasizing material diversity within Tokyo’s skyline.

Designed as a key element of Azabudai Hills, this structure reflects the complex’s emphasis on blending aesthetics with functionality. The accessible pathways and landscaped areas surrounding the building highlight a commitment to inclusive and thoughtful urban planning. The facade’s dynamic surface evolves throughout the day, capturing the essence of Tokyo’s ever-changing light and energy. As a part of one of the city’s newest and most ambitious redevelopment projects, this building exemplifies the forward-thinking design and attention to detail that define the Azabudai Hills complex.

I accidentally completely drained the battery of my camera. I was able to recharge it, but I didn't notice that ALL settings had reset to factory defaults... including file format settings. As a result, I didn't get any RAW files for this shoot. It was a bit of a shame, but then again this one didn't need all that much post processing.

I quite like the effect of the shadow lines that go right through the middle of the eyes.

Lighting: gridded speedlight fired from camera right, through an opening between two v-flats. A bare speedlight right next to the lens for fill.

We're Here - Contrast

a man driving an ox-pulled cart while texting his wife... what a contrast.

I had not thought of these as possible subject until I happened to see it. I think if given project, then makes you look out for possible subjects. Otherwise, I would probably just walked on by without hardly noticing or registering possible image

DailyShoot: Using contrast in your photography can give you very artistic shots. Make a color photo with high contrast today.

Contrasting textures and colors. It's a lemon...on a pillow. :)

I bought this camera from a fellow photographer here in Winnipeg for $50.00. It was a bargain as it included the 50mm lens. Anyways, I was cleaning the house one Saturday morning and I saw this rug. I knew that I can use this someday as a photo backdrop. That day came! The Black,Red and Silver colors really played nice to each other.
