The project brief was to refurbish and extend a 1920's cottage. The new extension acknowledges the proportion and form of the existing cottage. A "slipped" plan creates a serpentine arrangement of exterior spaces. A south west facing patio off the dining space creates an outdoor room to be enjoyed in the summertime. To the front of the house a low lying wall creates a welcoming entry courtyard on arrival. The windows in the dining space and living room have been placed carefully to allow the views across the valley to be enjoyed from within the house.
La proposition de projet impliquait de rénover et d'agrandir un chalet des années 1920. L’agrandissement du chalet respecte les proportions et la forme du chalet pré - existant. Un plan « glissé » crée une disposition serpentine des espaces extérieurs. Un patio orienté sud-ouest de la salle à manger propose une pièce extérieure appréciable en été. À l'avant de la maison, un muret permet de créer une cour d'entrée accueillante. Les fenêtres de la salle à manger et du salon ont été soigneusement placées pour permettre de profiter de la vue sur la vallée depuis la maison.
Ziel des Projekts war die Umgestaltung und Erweiterung eines Cottage, das in den 1920ern errichtet wurde. Der Anbau knüpft an die Proportionen und Gestalt des ursprünglichen Cottages an. Durch die parallele Verschiebung der Gebäudeteile entsteht eine serpentinartige Gliederung der Aussenbereiche. Eine vom Essbereich aus nach Südwest gewandte Terrasse dient als Außenraum, in dem sich die Sommertage genießen lassen. Vor dem Haus rahmt eine niedrige Mauer die Hofeinfahrt, wodurch eine einladende Atmosphäre entsteht. Die Fensteröffnungen im Ess- und Wohnbereich wurden sorgfältig angeordnet, dass der Blick vom Inneren des Haus aus über das ganze Tal schweifen kann.

Un plan “resbaladizo “crea una disposición serpentina de espacios exteriores. Un patio orientado al suroeste frente al comedor crea una habitación al aire libre para disfrutar en verano. Al frente de la casa un muro bajo crea un acogedor patio de entrada a la llegada. Las ventanas en el comedor y en el salón se han colocado cuidadosamente para permitir que las vistas del valle se disfruten desde dentro de la casa.
La summa del progetto è stata quello di rinnovare ed ampliare una casa del 1920. La nuova estensione riconosce la proporzione e la forma del concept esistente. Il piano si articola su una disposizione a serpentina di spazi esterni. A sud-ovest ci si affaccia con la presenza di un patio situato fuori la sala da pranzo che quindi crea una sala all'aperto da goderne nel periodo estivo. Per la parte anteriore della casa un muretto crea un accogliente cortile d'ingresso all'arrivo. Le finestre nella sala da pranzo e nel soggiorno sono state collocate con cura per consentire la vista su tutta la valle e quindi goderne da dentro la casa.

Contractor crews from Granite Construction have spent the spring preparing this stretch of highway - from Fruitdale Road/milepost 67 to the east Concrete city limits/milepost 91 - for resurfacing. They've repaved bridge decks, done deep road repair and done miles of crack sealing to prepare the road for preservation. This work needs to be done when dry and needs warm days to help dry as well.
