Upon the closure of Isle Coaches in the summer, Stagecoach Scunthorpe acquired a tendered contract to keep formerly commercial route 399 alive on Saturdays, whilst Monday to Friday went to Hornsbys.
Seen here is a recent transfer to the Dart heavy depot of Scunthorpe from Lincoln, where it had been out of action for several months. Recent rumour suggests this, along with many other Darts in the fleet could soon be placed into reserve, with Enviro power coming to replace them. Worth getting if / whilst you can!
Seen here leaving Gallagher Retail Park, whilst nodding to the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II, is Dennis Dart 35149, which spent a lot of it's time in Hull as well as most recently Lincoln before its disappearance.

Selkent route 181: Lewisham Station - Grove Park, Bus Station
Approaching Longbridge Way.
Stagecoach London started a new contract to route 181 from their new Kangley Bridge Road (KB) base on 17 March 2018. New E20D MMCs, 33685-36699, completed the move away from Metrobus.
Route 181 zigzags across the A21 to provide access for residential areas off the main road. As a result, this route is longer than counterpart route 284. Pictured is 36697 starting off the "zigzaggy" process in an uncustomary comparison shot of bus type evolution - I prefer the originality and traffic-free scene of last year's photo here over this one, but there you go.

Cracking job, Peter Harris!
The thoroughfare now known as Waterworks Road was established as a track to Enoggera Reservoir, the first dam erected in Queensland and only the second in Australia. The track also serviced the scattered Enoggera diggings in the hills behind the Reservoir. The dam was completed in 1866. A cast iron pipeline was laid from the Reservoir to the service reservoirs on Wickham Terrace. The original pipeline intersects Waterworks Road at a number of points, one of which is at Walton Bridge, a dual arch bridge which was constructed at a similar time.
By the 1890s, the Reservoir had become a popular destination for picnics. Traffic increased on Waterworks Road and tramlines were extended into the Red Hill area between 1897-1904.
Ithaca Creek forms the border between Red Hill and Ashgrove and was named after the birthplace in Greece of Lady Bowen, wife of Queensland's first governor. Chinese market gardeners established their vegetable gardens on Ithaca Creek near aterworks Road before the turn of the century
The contract for erecting a bridge over Ithaca Creek was let in June 1899. The Brisbane Courier noted āThe new bridge will greatly improve the highway at this point, as the road as to be raised 11 ft., and the gradient, which is now very steep and awkward, will be reduced to 1 in 15.ā

Good morning everyone and I hope you had a nice weekend. Presented today is a short series on a new caterpillar for yours truly. Being what I'm pretty sure is a Contracted Datana Caterpillar (Datana contracta).
The reason I say I'm pretty sure is because there are two other caterpillars I found while doing a search that look very similar. An Angus's Datana Caterpillar (Datana angusii) and a Yellownecked Caterpillar (Datana ministra). So if anyone thinks I'm wrong, please don't hestitate to advise me accordingly as identifying many caterpillar species, especially moths, can be difficult unless you're an expert. Which I'm not. Thank you.
Strangely the host plants for all three species are oak, chestnut and walnut trees, as well as other assorted trees. Mainly fruit trees for some. Not rosa multiflora that the caterpillars in these pics are seen feeding on, which made it even more confusing.
One final note, the smaller orangey colored caterpillars with white stripes are earlier instars of the late stage black & white striped mature individual seen above.
As always, please don't forget to click on "view previous comments" if you don't see the two additional pics in the comment section. Even better, scroll to them by clicking on the arrow thingy to the right of the above pic. And if you want to view any picture in the comment section large all you have to do is click on it where you'll also find some text describing this pretty caterpillar.
Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you're have a truly great day and week.

Stagecoach Chesterfield ADL Enviro 200 SN63YPP (36991) seen as it climbs through Blackwell with the 11:07 Meadowhall-Buxton 65.
Stagecoach's Chesterfield depot began operating Peak District service 65 at the end of July, registering both the DCC-funded journeys plus additional journeys on a commercial basis to maintain the two-hourly frequency which has become standard on the 65. High Peak had handed back the funded journeys following nine months of operation, however retained their second commercially-operated vehicle duty which they had operated since taking over from TM Travel in March 2017. Although the routing of the High Peak journeys was altered to serve Wormhill rather than Blackwell and Litton, this did result in the two operators' vehicles running close by each other. This situation was evidently not commercially viable, as High Peak withdrew their journeys in November.
Stagecoach are operating the service using two Enviro 200s, with 36992 and 36993 carrying rudementary route branding. The majority of journeys have been extended beyond Sheffield city centre to serve Meadowhall, a link which existed until being removed in c.2009. The 65 has been operated by Stagecoach in the past, reaching the company following their purchase of Chesterfield Transport who in turn had inherited the route from Whites of Calver. As independent operators began undercutting the larger outfits on council contracts, rural work began to slip away from Chesterfield depot, and the 65 passed to TM Travel in October 2004.
This is one of my original lawn contracts. I've been maintaining this lawn since the mid 90's. We just power raked and top seeded this lawn three weeks ago so it will be a few more weeks until it's in it's best condition. I'll be fertilizing these lawns next week too. No photo editing on these photos either. I'm just really happy with how they are taking shape. š
I hope everyone has a great weekend as well.

This series is about discovering the truth so Iām about to hit a new level of honesty with you all. I hope youāre ready because man oh man, Iām not even sure if I am.
You can only run into a wall so many times before there is a break. Most people believe itās up to chance whether or not it is you who breaks or the wall. I believe I have smashed my head against the same wall for so long that it was when I said āthis hurtsā that the pain began. It was my choice to believe that. It was my choice to believe in the pain more than the healing. I wanted to sulk and pout. I wanted to dwell in my own self-pity because I blamed the wall for being thereā¦not myself for hitting it. I was exhausted and frustrated. Frustration started around my veins and weaved itself thickly through, making a net with itself. The lies I believed were getting caught in the nets and were clotting themselves. My blood couldnāt run through and slowly my life was failing.
What happened after?
How did I fix it?
I found the courage to sign the contract, dedicating my life to God. I made the choice to go under his knife so he could restore in me a new life. My heart was suddenly pumping with the blood that was once shed for meā¦all throughout my body. The clots could not stand against the purity, the strength or the mercy. I donāt think I could ever explain the feeling but what I can say is I watched the wall crumble. Yes, I watched it. I did nothing but watch as the power of God broke it down for me.
Iām not here to sugar coat anything and my bluntness has always been something some of you say you admire. So here it is.
The lie: When bad things happen, itās not of God. God only wants me to be happy.
The truth: In Ecclesiastes 3 it says there is a time for everything, for every purpose under heaven. āA time to weep, a time to laugh. A time to mourn and a time to dance. A time to cast stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing. A time to gain and a time to lose.ā Ecclesiastes 3: 4-6
Yeah hereās the deal. The Word is the truth. I believed a lie that God didnāt care about me or that he was angry at me because my life became difficult. I expected him to bless me and love me because I was told āGod is loveā. Yes, God is love but He is still GOD.
The question to ask yourself is, what lies have you been believing because you havenāt poured yourself into the Word? How can we truly know the truth or the lies that are holding us down if we are just āgetting byā as Christians?

Spanish postcard by Raker, no. 1096, 1964. Stella Stevens in The Nutty Professor (Jerry Lewis, 1963).
American comedienne Stella Stevens (1936) starred as a voluptuous platinum blonde with a deep sultry voice in many Hollywood films of the 1960s. During the decade she was one of the most photographed women in the world.
Stella Stevens was born Estelle Caro Eggleston in Yazoo City, Mississippi, in 1936. While attending Memphis State College, Stella became interested in acting and modelling. While performing in a college production of Bus Stop, Stevens was discovered and offered a contract with 20th Century Fox. Her film debut was a bit part in the musical Say One for Me (Frank Tashlin, 1959), but her appearance in Li'l Abner (Melvin Frank, 1959) as Appassionata Von Climax is the one that got her noticed. In 1960, she won the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year. Then her centerfold spread in Playboy was one of the most popular issues. The following years, she co-starred with Bobby Darin in Too Late Blues (John Cassavetes, 1961), Elvis Presley in Girls! Girls! Girls! (Norman Taurog, 1962), Glenn Ford in The Courtship of Eddie's Father (1963), Jerry Lewis in The Nutty Professor (Jerry Lewis, 1963), and Dean Martin in the Matt Helm spy spoof The Silencers (Phil Karlson, 1966). One of her best parts was as Glenn Ford's drum-playing girlfriend in The Courtship of Eddieās Father (Vincente Minnelli, 1962). On TV, she appeared in the series Surfside 6 (1960), Ben Casey (1961) and the soap opera General Hospital (1963).
By the late 1960s, Stella Stevens' career had leveled off and she was appearing in roles based on her looks. Hal Erickson at AllMovie: "Despite consistently good work, Stevens never achieved the full stardom that she deserved: When she posed again for Playboy in 1968, she admitted that it was purely to get people to attend her films." One of her best performances was opposite Jason Robards in Sam Peckinpah's The Ballad of Cable Hogue (1970), where she played Hildy, and showed that her talent was more than physical. In 1972 she starred in Irwin Allen's The Poseidon Adventure with Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Roddy McDowall, and Shelley Winters. Stevens played the role of Linda Rogo, the "refreshingly outspoken" ex-prostitute wife of Borgnine's character. She also starred in Blaxploitation films like Slaughter (Jack Starrett, 1972) with Jim Brown as a black Vietnam Veteran and Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold (Charles Bail, 1975) opposite Tamara Dobson. Notable is also the comedy Nickelodeon (Peter Bogdanovich, 1976), starring Ryan O'Neal. In the 1970s and 1980s, Stella became a fixture in movies made for television and appeared in a number of television series. Her big screen career slowed during that time, but she continued to appear in a number of straight-to-video films. Stevens produced and directed a documentary profiling a variety of women from many walks of life, entitled The American Heroine (1979). She also directed the inexpensive Canadian feature The Ranch (1989). On TV, she appeared in the critically acclaimed miniseries, In Cold Blood (Jonathan Kaplan, 1996), based on Truman Capote's book of the same name. Her television career continued into the 2000s when she appeared in an episode of the sitcom Twenty Good Years (2006). In 1954, the 16-years-old Stella Stevens had married electrician Noble Herman Stephens and the couple had a son, actor Andrew Stevens. They divorced in 1957 but Stella and her son retained a variation of her ex-husband's surname as their own professional surnames.

So, let me start by making posting the story of Valiant:
Valiant, an Ascendant Lord, built like a castle, with high defense, and average mobility,
It is feared by itās massive strength and usually, 1 hit from him is all that is needed to win.
Its pilot usually goes around with his son, who he is training to be the next pilot of Valiant. The Son, born blind, can only see when attached to the valiant, which makes this story even darker...
Valiant was seen as a threat, so Joker was contracted to eliminate it...which he did, but left the son alive, he does not kill if it is not on contract.
-- Build comment --
So, I got some new pieces, and I wanted to rebuild Valiant, but I got this idea of making a dynamic plot series, and this gave me the chance.
BTW, I did update the Jokerās design, Let me know if you want new photos of it.
Hope you like it.
T R Coaches of Treorchy was still operating two Bristol VRs on school contracts for Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC as late as 2012- ECW-bodied JMB 401T, new to Crosville, and former Cardiff Bus Alexander AL-bodied CTX 396V.
The latter had been acquired in 1999 and was to see service until 2014, whereupon she was sold to the Cardiff Transport Preservation Group. I believe that this was only for spares, though I'm happy to be corrected.
This shot from June 2012 shows her sedately leaving the depot on her way to Treorchy Comprehensive School to take up an afternoon run.
