I am not complaining. This is the first time in my life I have seen continual snowfall all day long. I am from California, and now live in Washington state. This much snowfall is very unusual in the town I moved to. I can't believe it doesn't stop. It's so pretty. My Fuji can take this weather, but my Nikon cannot. I made them both go out in it this morning. The lens on this shot is a Helios 40-2, 85mm, l.5 with a Nikon mount. This is my ancient rose from China. It has huge thorns, some of which are two inches wide at the base.
A Grizzly Bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) walking along the coastal shores of the inlet in the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Reserve. It was continually looking back, possibly to see if it was being followed by another bear.
It was the breeding season and a large number of bears were observed over the days we were in the reserve.

The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one. hOPE everyone has a Bless week!
Three White-tailed Eagles circled over the Wetlands this morning. One of them was a young bird from last year that was continually chased by the older birds.
Seraph thy memory is to me
like some enchanted far-off isle
In some tumultuous sea -
Some ocean vexed as it may be
With storms; but where, meanwhile,
Serenest skies continually
Just o'er that one bright island smile.
For 'mid the earnest cares and woes
That crowd around my earthly path,
(Sad path, alas, where grows
Not even one lonely rose!)
My soul at least a solace hath
In dreams of thee; and therein knows
An Eden of bland repose.
By Edgar Allan Poe.
“For me, a landscape does not exist in its own right, since its appearance changes at every moment; but the surrounding atmosphere brings it to life ...... the light and the air which vary continually. For me, it is only the surrounding atmosphere which gives subjects their true value.” ~ Claude Monet.
Port Townsend is continually upgrading the town's infrastructure while honoring the Victorian heritage of its buildings.
We have these fuchsias, pink ones and purple ones, in a pot, reflowering from last year. I watched these for a day (not continually!) to capture this moment. Nature's bodyclock!
Purple verbena bonariensis in the flowerbed below provide the pale mauve-colour bokeh.

"Our happiness depends on the habit of mind we cultivate. So, practice happy thinking every day. Cultivate the merry heart, develop the happiness habit, and life will become a continual feast."

The façade where the altar is located faces south. An almost irrelevant fact if it were not for the fact that the heavy rains continually hit the walls of this church, which produced humidity and great deterioration in its structure. At the end of the 40s, the then Marquis of Riestra called a bricklayer from the town to find a solution to the problem that the chapel had been dragging on for almost four decades.
The bricklayer in question, Anselmo Millán, proposed a traditional technique to prevent water from penetrating the walls: covering the entire surface with scallop shells. This way, the water would slide down all of them without wetting the interior. This form of coverage was used for years in houses near the sea.
The Marquis of Riestra accepted the proposal and shortly after the façade was covered by these marine treasures. The Marquis liked the result so much that he ordered the entire church to be covered. Getting the image that the Chapel of San Caralampio has today took several years. The work, which had begun in the late 1940s, was not completed until the early 1950s.
You cannot hold on to anything good. You must be continually giving - and getting. You cannot hold on to your seed. You must sow it - and reap anew. You cannot hold on to riches. You must use them and get other riches in return. Robert Collier
~happy reaping fence friday~
Life isn't easy for grebe parents with two hungry youngsters who continually scream for food. It's quite a sight to observe them. Interesting to note that the parents work in shifts, switching the carrying for the fishing. Grebes know equality in parental life :-)

libertà, grande desiderio
dell’essere umano, sogno che
sembra irraggiungibile.
libertà. parola
di grande significato,
ma a volte rimane solo quello.
libertà di essere se stessi,
vivere senza condizioni
nel rispetto del Sé.
nessuno ce la può regalare
la libertà.
essa è una conquista.
sogno che diventa realtà
nel momento in cui ognuno
la trova dentro la sua anima.
una strada non facile da perseguire,
una strada piena di meraviglie.
ce la possono togliere
solo apparentemente
la libertà, se noi saremo
noi stessi nel centro del
nostro essere, ove
mai nessuno potrà
invadere la nostra intimità.
........................................................................................
freedom, a great desire
of the human being, that dream
seems unattainable.
freedom. word
of great significance,
but sometimes it remains just that.
freedom to be themselves,
live without conditions
in respect of the self.
nobody can give us the
freedom.
It is a conquest.
dream come true
when everyone
found inside his soul.
a road is not easy to achieve,
a street full of wonders.
she may remove
only apparently
freedom, where we will be
ourselves in the center of
our being, where
nobody can ever
invade our privacy.
On the southern edge of the Swabian Alb, the imposing Princely Castle of Sigmaringen stands on a rocky outcrop on the banks of the Danube.
The first castle complex was built here in the 11th century and has been continually expanded and rebuilt over hundreds of years of turbulent history, partly due to severe damage caused by various wars and sieges.
Sigmaringen Castle is the ancestral seat of the Princely Hohenzollern family and is still partly used as a family residence today. With more than 450 rooms, however, this isn't so tragic for visitors. There's still more than enough space for a museum, an armory, and an impressive library with more than 200,000 volumes.
"All the regulations of mankind are tuned to the end that the intense sensation of life is lost in continual distractions." - Friedrich Nietzsche
I used to use that quote to prep my students on field trips for a sensitization exercise before we'd start shooting. I hope my interventions helped some of them. Learning to see is a long, intense process; really, it takes a lifetime. Maybe more.
The morning I shot this, I wasn't getting anything. The fog was too thick to allow big landscape views, and the world was grey. Then the sun pushed its way up from the murk, and... transformation!
As for Nietzsche and his "continual distractions", I wonder what he would think of us and how we live today. I try to keep the distractions under control - I have a smart TV but only use it to watch movies. I no longer use Facebook. I watch hockey in season (just starting). Sometimes I go to YouTube. So I do spend too much time sitting passively and I'm not exactly a vessel of purity.
On the other hand, I moved to rural Saskatchewan 15 years ago to remove myself from the pace of modern life and be closer to the natural world, wherein my sanity resides. No regrets!

These lovely little waders are quite common on our northern upland streams and rivers and continually call if you encroach on their territory.I came across this one whilst walking alongside a small river in the Peak District this morning.
Do you feel sometimes divided?
I do feel this way almost every single day. And that´s what I do: When the fear comes, I wonder what it is asking for. When the urge to change, to consider my truth, assaults me, I stop and learn. No matter the moment of the day or my activity. I pay attention, this is my strategy. I promote integration, that´s my tactic. read more on my blog: myhealingmoments.blogspot.com.es/2014/04/day-523.html
Member of the family Leiothrichidae found in the Indian subcontinent, the Jungle Babblers are gregarious birds that forage in small groups of six to ten birds. Often seen in gardens within large cities as well as in forested areas. It is a noisy bird, and the presence of a flock may generally be known at some distance by the harsh mewing calls, continual chattering, squeaking and chirping produced by its members.
When we first arrived at our shooting location the light was continually changing and with some heavy cloud in the direction of the sun we were not sure how long the light on Suilven would last. Although I had chosen to climb a small hill from the path I wasn't particularly happy with the blanking of Fionn Loch by the mid-ground but decided to accept the compromise when I spotted this cloud approaching my composition. I was also happier with the location being further to the right of the higher ground in my previous post which left me more 'breathing room' to the left of the mountain and felt more balanced.
Photographed at Sierra Del Cristo, both the male and female were continually busy feeding their nest inside an old building, In the two hours I was watching them they returned so many times with different insects to feed the noisy chicks, see my third photograph for details
There is but one brush that has stood through time been with me from the beginning. I still continually use it to this day now old and ragged but there is something about it that I cant let go it brings the energy of paint to life, With its broken handle bent bristles it remains standing through time and space in the changing light bringing life to paint.
The hardwoods are starting to bud out with the advent of spring weather. This area's forests are diminishing rapidly as the developers' bulldozers continually make way for new houses. At some point, people are going to have to reckon with the facts that trees are essentially to our environment. Preserving forests and smaller woodlands is essential for a healthy planet.
Stonechat (Full frame)
1600.3.12.24.
I think some may have noticed my reduced postings on Flickr and Facebook over the last year. I had quite severe cateract and did not feel confident processing images. It also made watching birds problematic because my vision was substantially compromised. To make matters worse I was continually getting eye infections which could be painful and very problematic. The fact that I usually work with birds close up was a help because I could at least identify them and see where they were. I also had an operation on my throat so healthwise I have not been greatly motivated except looking after my Black Redstarts breeding in Manchester and a pair of Stonechats breeding north of Bury. Along the country path, which is about a mile long, there were 5 Stonechat pairs but only the pair I photographed were successful in breeding ( according to my observations). In time I was able to obtain the trust of the female seen in the image wheras before, getting within 30 yards was impossible. In terms of effort photographing two breeding species every day that were 12 miles apart involved a lot of travelling on public transport then a lot of walking and climbing carrying heavy gear plus being out for 12-15hrs a day. At the end of the season I was exhausted but I have never been more satisfied with anything I have done in my life.
This is the Rimondi fountain built in 1626 during the Venetian rule. Named after the Venetian governor of the period, A. Rimondi, it continually threw water from three springs that had the form of lion heads and provided an important water source for the inhabitants of the Old Town.
The Rough Legged Hawk posed for a few minutes as it was on morning food search, this was my first half decent picture of this beautiful hawk, he was continually harried by the Harriers

An abandoned ranch commands an alluring view of Drake's Bay along the Point Reyes Peninsula. There are many abandoned ranches along the Point Reyes coastline, many of them tracing their roots to the earliest days of California. Residing within a National Preserve, the old ranches are protected but not maintained--meaning they are subjected to the wear and tear of the harsh coastal climate without human intervention. This creates a real bonanza for photographers.
A trip to Point Reyes is always spiritually rewarding. Whether your fancy is scenery, wildlife, or historical structures, it's a place where the impermanence of life on earth continually takes front and center stage.
Happy Fence Friday everyone.

Milu certainly loves to pose for pictures and usually purrs continually throughout the session. Happy Furry Friday !
Huge thanks to everyone for the comments, favorites and invites. I am continually inspired by all of you!!

All through the park the street is fenced with a continual light string. Fall and Winter seems to be starting to clash now. A festive Fenced Friday shot as in temporary fence.
I noticed he continually left his branch and and maneuvered in the air and would catch a cicada in his beak. If you notice here, he not only has one in his beak, but in his talons as well. He kept loading up and transferring them to his talons and then flew into a tree across the street, where I presume the nest was, to feed the juvenile. Should know soon when the juvenile leaves the nest - in past years the juvenile hangs out on this same tree and waits for the adults to deliver and transfer cicadas to him!
From Ruby Beach yesterday to Rialto Beach today. Love these Washington state beaches.
Something different from the usual mountains, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and tree images I generally post.
Thank you for those of you who frequently grace my pages with your wonderful comments, faves and continual support. Much appreciated.
I'm going to be away for awhile. Road trip for some family time. Have a wonderful week.
To me the sea is a continual miracle; The fishes that swim, the rocks, the motion of the waves, the ships with men in them. What stranger miracles are there? (Walt Whitman)
...in Patagonia, sometimes without passing another vehicle for half an hour (especially at night); for someone who comes as I do from a densely populated area, it can be a source of continual wonder and (at times) concern.
Taken in Mana Pools National Park, near the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe.
This delightful little bird is Africa’s only wagtail. From its perch on the bank of the Zambezi River, with its tail continually bobbing up and down, it made frequent flights out to catch insects - quite unconcerned about us.
I watched eagles continually being harassed by crows and osprey for hours this afternoon.
As if they didn't have enough to keep them busy with 2 eaglets in the nest. They are growing so quickly...
I am continually fascinated with this bridge. From it's architecture, to its brilliant red paint, it's proximity to the city of San Francisco, and the fog that often adorns it, this is one of the more unique landmarks in California.
Divine love leads to an unceasing search for God, to continual labor for Him; it bears indefatigably all trials in union with Christ; it gives a true thirst for God; it makes us run rapidly toward Him; it gives us a holy boldness and an undaunted audacity; it attaches us inseparably to God; it burns and consumes us with a very sweet ardor for Him; finally, in heaven, it likens us completely to Him.
-Bernard of Clairvaux
This photo was a series of pictures of a continually developing sunset. It started out without much color but lavish and myriad of tones were forthcoming.
A colorful medium sized raptor found pretty much everywhere along the coasts across the country - though in varying frequency. This is an immature male I think based on the plumage. There were about 4-5 of them, all of them sitting on perches like this around 10 feet from each other in a lagoon on the Godavari river.
These kites were just resting after continuously harassing the small waders for a while. But then, an army of House Crows which were feeding on the crustaceans left over on the sandbar during the low tide didn't like the presence of these kites. So they continually mobbed them. 4-5 crows together mobbed each Brahminy kite at a time and in a span of 15-20 mins all of 4 of the kites flew away. The Kites briefly fought back, but it was each Kite for himself - the other kites didn't budge when their friend was mobbed. The crows though joined hands and fought the Kite - the groupism was so stark!
Thank you so much in advance for your views, feedback and faves.
