My First night at Zion.
Everything we are and everything in the universe and on Earth originated from stardust, and it continually floats through us even today. It directly connects us to the universe, rebuilding our bodies over and over again during our lifetimes.
This was shot along the watchman Trail, My original Plan was to shoot the MW on the other side of the Watchman formation, but I was running late and had to stop here and shoot. If I waited any longer I would lose the core off the right side of the composition, so when I saw this fence I knew that would help with the layering in the scene. I tried to get some light on the fence coming in from the left but not draw the eye away from the Milky Way and hoping to keep the brightness visible in the galactic core, so this time I had a couple of subway napkins over the front of my light panel to dim down the foreground(a tip I learned from Wayne) and somewhat layer the scene if you will. :)
If you have any questions about this photo or about photography in general, I will do my best to help, just post a comment or send me a Flickr mail and I will respond as quickly as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great weekend everyone :)
I just came across this old place on my travels and I was impressed with the light filtering through the trees and the colours of the foliage. I would love to live in it, given half a chance and Id say I wouldnt be the only one!
Do hope you like my effort and have a great weekend ahead!

Update; Hiya everybody! Im really delighted that so many people like this very simple photo. Maybe there`s a lesson there for us all really as it was only a quick snap and I wasnt going to bother putting it up here. I thought the angle of the house was a bit funny but I couldnt get back far enough to try and get more of a front on shot. I lay down on the road to try and get the leading lines to converge towards the turn in the lane which seems to have worked. I didnt think about it much really but I do think your eye improves with practice and after a while you find yourself composing photos fairly automatically before you even point the camera at the scene.
Of course, there are superb "artists" on here who continually break the standard rules of composition with stunning results [ have a look at "In Explore" ] and they are the true masters of their trade! So Ill struggle on and maybe someday!!!!!
Thanks to all my "Friends" here on Flickr for all your great Photos!!!!
Have a great weekend!!!

"LIFER"!
A PAIR seen near the Kotu Bridge were continually calling to one another, hence giving their position away every time, but they moved very quickly and kept mainly under mangrove leaf cover. Have images of both male above, and female I hope to show later, as she is quite different. A pure joy to see these and kept me busy for a long time. Zoom in for the lunchtime capture !!!

THANKYOU for your visit and friendship, look forward to seeing and commenting on your latest postings,

"LIFER"!
BEAUTIFUL females are grey and apricot-buff, completely different from the black and white males shown earlier. It was one of the highlights seeing the pair insect hunting but continually calling to each other, so glad I was in the right spot at the right time Kuto Gambia.

Let's Fast Forward to summer. Look who has popped up in my garden, waiting for further instructions :) My dog, Emmy, loves our time in the garden, although her best contribution to the garden chores is to "do no harm". Her favorite garden activity is to chase her friend Meowzer, the cat, and vice versa :)

AN ELEGANT BIRD, with a strikingly long tail that continually pumps up and down. The Grey Wagtail is invariably associated with fresh flowing water and often perches on mid-stream boulders or a floating leaf like above, looking for insects flying or struggling in the water. The only place I know in our area is Russell Gardens near Dover to find this Waggie, and on arrival, the whole area was full of workmen, digging the area up, they had a lottery grant, so was lucky when this one, put in a ten second appearance, not a good result, and a heavy crop, as a bit distant.

THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND, love reading your comments, they are always appreciated, and will return the visit to do the same.

OUR ANNUAL trip to The Gambia in Feb has been cancelled by the agent, the third holiday lost to the Covid epidemic.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2021.

Mine is. of course, seeing the back of Covid19.
Seeing family and Grandchildren.
Being able to sing and praise the LORD in church
Seeing people smile, not hiding behind a mask.
Going on holiday.
Open nature reserves and hides.
Enjoying a pint in a pub. And a good curry in an Indian Restaurant
WHATEVER you wish, I hope it is so !!!

Stay safe and well my dear friends, God bless..........Tomx
The thread looked neatly wound around these bobbins at first, but the bobbins continually toppled. I finally let threads dangle.
Almost 4cm/1.57 inches tall. These just look large because the Laowa lens lets me move the lens in almost touching the subject and then magnifies by two.
In January 2022 I asked a Flickr support hero to remove me from the Explore algorithm. I feel more relaxed and in the moment.
To me the sea is a continual miracle; The fishes that swim, the rocks, the motion of the waves, the ships with men in them. What stranger miracles are there? Thanks for your visit and comments, my friends.. I hope you're all staying safe and healthy):

Glaciar Perito Moreno

European Buzzard [Buteo buteo]
This youngster has been flying around my hill with his mum, for the past few weeks. They call to each other as, I assume, she is showing him how to hunt.
Here, he was sitting on a telegraph post, continually calling for his mum, who was very conspicuous in her absence. Maybe she had gone hunting by herself - or maybe she thought the time had come to loosen the apron strings and let junior get on with it by himself. Such a sad, sad sight. He was was still there, hours later, as I was returning home.
Poor wee soul!

Osprey with catch gets chased by Sea Gull.
The Osprey was continually harassed by this Seagull for quite some time as the Osprey rode the updrafts in order to get higher. I managed to get a couple of hundred shots of this encounter and after a while, the Osprey landed on a rock ledge where it finally devoured its meal in peace.
Moraine Lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until middle to late June. When it is full, it reflects a distinctive shade of azure blue. The unique colour is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis by surrounding glaciers.
PS The day we were there it was cold and started to snow! Yes, in Summer!
My local hills, the Galloway Hills were looking beautiful with their winter coats.
This image was taken the morning after the first snow fall giving it a crisp fresh look and was great to walk on, but quite deep making it a bit of a work out!
But a welcome change to the continual rain we have had here.
Rome is one of the most important cities in the history of mankind, exerting a unique influence on the development of the history and culture of Europeans for millennia and the construction of the Western Civilization. Its history spans more than 2500 years, since its legendary foundation in 753 BC. Rome is one of the oldest continually occupied cities in Europe and is known as "The Eternal City", an idea expressed by poets writers of Ancient Rome. In the ancient world, it was successively the capital of the Kingdom of Rome, the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire and is considered one of the cradles of Western civilization. (From Wikipedia)
This being my second visit to Rome, I made a point of not taking a guided tour this time, but simply letting the busy streets take me to the places previously visited, admiring and enchanting me with the unexpected architectural details.

Driftwood continually gets washed up and beached at the tip of Point Pelee National Park on Lake Erie. The beach tip is always littered with pieces of driftwood but visitors are not allowed to walk away with any of these treasures though.
In this large sea cave, a colony of Steller sea lions permanently resides and California sea lions also winter here. Waves from the open sea continually come splashing into the cave. The sea lions spend time here hauled out on rocks to rest and find shelter from winter storms. Many birds also inhabit the cave system.
An elevator has been built to take visitors down into the cave, where a single, carefully fenced-off viewpoint allows this incredible glimpse into another world! It is totally magical!
Between the crashing waves and the constant barking of the sea lions, the sound was deafening in this echoing cavern, and so whatever sound came from the human visitors was completely drowned out and became irrelevant. I was glad to come away with the impression that the wild sea lions really didn't seem bothered by the tourism activity.
I remember these in full and almost continual use some decades ago. Now they are neglected and I expect a very unpleasant experience should you be brave enough to open a door of one of these K6's!
Are they really worth keeping in this condition? As seen on a walk in Enfield - they are located in Little Park Gardens.
The Brighton Speed Trials is commonly held to be the oldest continually running motor race in the world.
The first race was held 19th–22nd July 1905 after Sir Harry Preston persuaded Brighton town council to tarmac the surface of the road adjacent to the beach between the Palace Pier and Black Rock to hold motor racing events, now known as Marine Parade...

This Great Blue Heron was out fishing for his evening meal.
Great Blue Herons have specialized feathers on their chest that continually grow and fray. The herons comb this “powder down” with a fringed claw on their middle toes, using the down like a washcloth to remove fish slime and other oils from their feathers as they preen.

Joshua tree has long, fascinated the scientific world as well as just a regular folks blown away by the Majestic beauty of the oddly formed rocks, and the Joshua trees and the energy of the land. Geologist believe the face of the landscape was born more than.100 million years ago. Molten liquid heated by. The continual movement of the Earths crust oozed upward and cooled well still below the earths surface. These plutonic intrusions. Are a giant rock. Called monzogranite. A cult like following believes created Joshua tree. Many have claimed to see UFOs and try to film them.
A Barred Owl enjoying a Cutthroat Trout early one morning.
I had decided to check the creek area for owls before settling down to document the hummingbird nest I found this year. While down by the creek in the first area the owls like to hang out in, I saw it 'bomb' by with something in it's talons. Taking note of where it went, I followed as quietly as possible. When I did see it, I was surprised by how close I found myself. Position and lighting weren't the best, but I was in heavy undergrowth at this point, and daren't move in fear of disturbing it. Off came the tripod for some hand-held shots of it enjoying a 'bed-time' snack before the day heated up.
This shot was taken three days after my upload of it eating a crayfish (Evening Mystery), and just shy of three months earlier than my previous upload.
The reason for my visit to this special place three months later, was because I was appalled to read in our local paper that there had been a bleach leak into the creek where this owl and it's sibling reside. The 'bleach leak' was massive. It killed everything in the creek for ~150 meters from where a storm drain empties into it. The clean-up crews recovered 318 dead cutthroat trout, 6 cohos, 13 sculpins and 11 sticklebacks.
The week following the report, I went to see if the owls had moved on to a new location to hunt, or were still there, as crayfish were a favourite snack that I have seen them enjoy on more than one occasion. I was relieved, therefore, when I came across one quite early in my walk, obviously in hunting mode, and hearing things of interest coming from the creek (previous upload). I then left it in peace, convinced that the creek had already started to recover from the bleaching event.
Suffice it to say I am continually appalled by how man treats the environment. This creek was already under massive restorative measures due to heavy metal contamination leached into its sediment from airport run-off. To think it was finally recovering nicely with a return of the fish to be so cavalierly poisoned again by, what? Someone emptying their hot tub down their driveway? It had to be a massive amount of bleach to affect so many meters of downstream life... When will we ever learn?
Please don't use this image on websites, blogs, etc. without my permission.
Water is to me, I confess, a phenomenon which continually awakens new feelings of wonder as often as I view it.

The windmill complex of Kinderdijk represents the courageous fight of the Dutch against the sea level. For many years, the windmills of Kinderdijk kept the land, which was continually threatened by floods and soil compaction, dry.
The Alblasserwaard – once an untamed and wet peatland – was eventually inhabited by humans, who built windmills in the area to drain the water. Besides Kinderdijk and its 19 iconic windmills, you can also visit the villages of Streefkerk and Oud-Alblas during your cycle trip. Cycle along canals and small rivers, take the ferry and enjoy the impressive views and charming farmhouses.
Australian Water Dragons are extremely shy in the wild, but readily adapt to continual human presence in suburban parks and gardens. They are fast runners and strong climbers. When faced with a potential predator, they seek cover in thick vegetation, or drop from an overhanging branch into water. They are able to swim totally submerged, and rest on the bottom of shallow creeks or lakes for up to 90 minutes to avoid detection.
This little fellow is one of three juveniles and several adults who live among the rocks at the edge of the local river. I love watching them, they're very fast and have loads of attitude.
Sometimes there are unexpected discoveries that happen when you least expect them. I was in the Vauxhall area of London recently and was wandering around the Oval cricket ground hoping to find something interesting to shoot. I never really did and I decided I'd had enough of the area and wanted to move on. The Oval tube station was nearby so that seemed a good place to make my escape from. Imagine my surprise when I passed through the barriers and came across these absolutely fabulous art deco styled uplighters gracing the escalators.
I am continually harassed by security guards these days so I knew it probably wouldn't be long before I was told to move on. But I did manage 5 or 6 shots. I would have hoped for a single person on one of the escalators but that never happened in the short time I was there. But as Arnie famously said - I'll be back!
