Live animals, hands-on exhibits & forest trails connect guests with the Adirondacks.
There is a lot of information ranging from different types of fungus to the life of an otter. Along the tree top excursion you can continually be educated about the surrounding environment. Ground trails are well maintained and are clearly marked when trails outside of the center intersect them. The parking lot is spacious and hard topped; easy to traverse. 1002

Communication is a continual balancing act, juggling the conflicting needs for intimacy and independence. To survive in the world, we have to act in concert with others, but to survive as ourselves, rather than simply as cogs in a wheel, we have to act alone. - Deborah Tannen
I see that the path of progress has never taken a straight line, but has always been a zigzag course amid the conflicting forces of right and wrong, truth and error, justice and injustice, cruelty and mercy. - Kelly Miller
Let us return, however, to the League of Nations. To create an organization which is in a position to protect peace in this world of conflicting interests and egotistic wills is a frighteningly difficult task. - Hjalmar Branting
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜
Silverback gorillas live high in the mountains in two protected parks in Africa. They are also referred to as mountain gorillas. Silverback gorillas continually wander through their home ranges of 10 to 15 square miles, feeding and resting throughout the day. Because gorillas are nomadic, they build new nests each day at dusk, constructing them out of bent branches in a tree or of grasses on the ground. Silverback gorillas have long black hair and their thick, shaggy coats help to keep them warm in cold climates. Adult male mountain gorillas are called Silverbacks because of the silver saddle of hair on their backs. Mountain gorillas have a stocky build, with a broad chest, long, muscular arms and wide feet and hands. Their arms are longer than their legs. Gorillas live in groups. Each gorilla family has a silverback as leader who scares away other animals by standing erect on its hind legs, tearing up and throwing plants, drumming on the chest with its hands or fists, stamping its feet, striking the ground with its palms and galloping in a mock attack on all fours!
Silverback Gorillas are around six feet tall – about the height of an adult male – while females are around five feet tall. Silverback gorillas weigh approximately 350 pounds- about twice the weight of normal adult man. Gorillas are herbivores, and eat only plants. They spend most of their day foraging for food and eating bamboo and leafy plants
Silverback gorillas were not even known to exist until 1902.Today, their habitat is being destroyed when people use the land for farming and the trees for fuel. Gorillas are also killed by poachers and sometimes get caught in poacher’s snares meant for other animals. The Silverback Gorilla is the most endangered species of Gorilla.
Is anyone else having trouble with Flickr? On google it posts all older versions of Flickr. Google says its Flickr and Flickr says its Google. Not sure what the problem is.
I believe the path along the shore to be just visible in my photo, very uneven and full of stones of various sizes, necessary to watch one's feet continually - as well as keeping an eye out for possible photos!
It was a blustery day with scudding clouds, other walkers to greet along the way and coffee and a bacon sandwich waiting at Banana Wharf at the Marina.

I managed nearly 5 miles this day and yesterday, 2 days later, exactly 5 miles, still astonishing to me!
To me the sea is a continual miracle; The fishes that swim, the rocks, the motion of the waves, the ships with men in them. What stranger miracles are there? (Walt Whitman)
Wrocław’s dwarfs (Polish: krasnale, krasnoludki) are small figurines (20-30 cm) that first appeared in the streets of Wrocław, Poland, in 2005. Since then, their numbers have been continually growing, and today they are considered a tourist attraction: those who would like to combine sight-seeing in Wrocław with "Hunting for dwarfs" are offered special brochures with a map[1] and mobile application software for smartphones.[2] As of 2015, there are over 350 dwarfs spread all over the city. Six of them are located outside the city at the LG plant in Biskupice Podgórne.
Some places have a way of leaving us in awe, even days and years after we visited. I have a strong feeling that this will be one of those places. The beauty of this place is hard to comprehend. The marks of His perfect and intentional craftsmanship are all over this place. He has allowed the forces of nature, which He reigns in perfect sovereignty over, to continually shape the beauty of this place. This can be a hard concept to comprehend as we often lean to two sides of the spectrum. We need to be in control of everything, or no one is control of anything and the world is rapidly and chaotically spinning to its own destruction unless we do something to stop it. Yes, it is true we are called to steward the earth that we have been given; however, we must remember that we are not the ones in total control of what happens to it. Since the fall, God has not stepped down from His throne to let the world self destruct, otherwise it already would have. He is still sovereignly involved. The fall does still have a continued impact very clearly, but nothing happens without God letting it pass. We stand in awe because we still see Him making beauty from ashes and majesty from storms. We have hope knowing that on the Great and Terrible Day that all sin and the evil affects of it will be done away with and the new heaven and earth will come that are not tainted by the destructive affects of sin. He is continually redeeming all things to Himself and one day the groaning of creation will be over as we stand in the presence of our King in all of His glory!
Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again.

The UK is presently experiencing a rare heatwave with unrelenting clear blue skies, harsh light and an imminent thunder storm prediction. So while i wait patiently for it, i've dug out one from earlier this year, when a dawn rise was not such a daunting prospect and sunshine scarce.

South Boulder Creek flows through Eldorado Canyon, on its way out to the plains. Here, in virtually continual shade in winter, much of the water pauses as ice and snow.
Canyon de Chelly National Monument is a vast park in northeastern Arizona on Navajo tribal lands. It is recognized as one of the longest continually inhabited landscapes in North America, with pueblo ruins built between 350 and 1300 AD, as well as a contemporary Navajo community that still inhabits the canyon floor, herding sheep during the summer months.

Had a few ideas for this theme but couldn't really get inspired and kept coming back to this shell as I liked the textures, I placed it on a net so that's what the strands coming from the shell are. HMM
One of the things I've always enjoyed in living here is when the setting sun creates a perfect band of gold highlighting the opposite shoreline in the late afternoon. Not a rare phenomenon, it need only be sunny, but one which continually draws my attention for its limited duration.

Returning home after a great couple of hours down at Ogmore by sea, and a soaking wet camera bag. no need to explain is by Augustines. No need to explain, as I'm always losing my games with the big waves. It was a big sea running, and i was having fun dashing in and out between the waves. the camera bag was about ten feet higher up the beach, but when I saw a really big wave coming it was too late to save it, and the tripod. Luckily the zips were closed. Nothing new, it didn't help that I was also distracted by continually checking on the Roma Liverpool score.
One of the few Prince's I've ever found perched. This is our biggest baskettail and our only Summer one - they continually fly around lake edges. Her eyes will turn green. @ Vogel State Park in the Georgia mountains
Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, Texas
It's sad to see the Baker Hotel continually vandalized. This historic old beauty was really something in her day. Inside you find ballrooms, grand staircases, and a place called the "Cloud Room" on the top floor. No expense was spared in the tile work and decorative treatments. Mr. Baker...the gentleman who built this hotel, had quarters built on the top floor as well...unbelievable place.

But beyond all that, the question that is continually begged is why isn't America leading the way toward total abolition of nuclear weapons.
Dennis Kucinich
We must eliminate all nuclear weapons in order to eliminate the grave risk they pose to our world. This will require persistent efforts by all countries and peoples. A nuclear war would affect everyone, and all have a stake in preventing this nightmare.
Ban Ki-moon
Although September 11 was horrible, it didn't threaten the survival of the human race, like nuclear weapons do.
Stephen Hawking
All mankind is now learning that these nuclear weapons can only serve to destroy, never become beneficial.
Alva Myrdal
For the United States to recommit itself to the obligation that we undertook in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty that many other states undertook, which was to work towards disarmament and the eventual elimination of nuclear weapons, is something that manifestly serves our national security interests.
Susan Rice
The message from national security experts and citizens around the world is clear: The only way to eliminate the global nuclear danger is to eliminate all nuclear weapons.

Moraine Lake is a glacially-fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6,183 feet (1,885 m). The lake has a surface area of .5 square kilometres (0.19 sq mi).
The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. When it is full, it reflects a distinct shade of blue. The colour is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis
This is about the only place in Portland that still has any beauty. Between COVID and the continual riots Downtown is a scary and sad semblance of what it used to be.
A big thank you to Victor Von Salza for letting us all know when to go. Every year he keeps a carful watch on these to let all us Portland Photogs know when to go. Thank you Victor!

“When I was fifteen, all I wanted was to go off to some other world, a place beyond anybody’s reach. A place beyond the flow of time.”
- But there’s no place like that in this world.
- Exactly. Which is why I’m living here, in this world where things are continually damaged, where the heart is fickle, where time flows past without a break.”

Three otters were photographed while playing along the banks of a river in the park. It had been snowing earlier in the day. The temperature was between 28 to 34 degrees.
The North American river otter (Lontra canadensis), also known as the northern river otter or the common otter, is a semiaquatic mammal endemic to the North American continent found in and along its waterways and coasts. The river otter is protected and insulated by a thick, water-repellent coat of fur.
The river otter, a member of the subfamily Lutrinae in the weasel family (Mustelidae), is equally versatile in the water and on land. It establishes a burrow close to the water's edge in river, lake, swamp, coastal shoreline, tidal flat, or estuary ecosystems.
North American river otters, like most predators, prey upon the most readily accessible species. Fish is a favored food among the otters, but they also consume various amphibians (such as salamanders and frogs), freshwater clams, mussels, snails, small turtles and crayfish.
The range of the North American river otter has been significantly reduced by habitat loss, beginning with the European colonization of North America. In some regions, though, their population is controlled to allow the trapping and harvesting of otters for their pelts. River otters are very susceptible to the effects of environmental pollution, which is a likely factor in the continued decline of their numbers. Several reintroduction projects have been initiated to help stabilize the reduction in the overall population. – Wikipedia

The Wadsworth Atheneum is an art museum located in Hartford, Connecticut. The Wadsworth is noted for its collections of European Baroque art, French and American Impressionist paintings, Hudson River School landscapes, modernist masterpieces and contemporary works, as well as collections of early American furniture and decorative arts.
Founded in 1842 and opened in 1844, it is the oldest continually operating public art museum in the United States.
[edit]
The Wadsworth, as it is most commonly known, was constructed on the site of the family home of Daniel Wadsworth in the heart of downtown Hartford. Its architects were Alexander Jackson Davis and Ithiel Town, who designed the "castle" that is the Atheneum's oldest building. Construction began in 1842 after the museum was incorporated on June 1 of that year. The museum opened on July 31, 1844 and has operated continuously since then.

Everyone knows me now as the person who continually lives in the 80s at Le Chateau, but did you know that I'm a History nerd who studied it in college? Here's a view inside my secret palace inspired by the late 19th-century/early 20th century decors.
These images demonstrated a fusion of indigenous and colonial beliefs and styles. For years, new compositions were painted one on top of the other. The last layer of this continually evolving work was painted in 1802 by Tadeo Escalante, an artist of both Incan and European descent.

According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, “Great Blue Herons have specialized feathers on their chest that continually grow and fray. The herons comb this “powder down” with a fringed claw on their middle toes, using the down like a washcloth to remove fish slime and other oils from their feathers as they preen. Applying the powder to their underparts protects their feathers against the slime and oils of swamps.” Great Blue Herons hunt from shallow water, moving slowly and searching the water under the surface. They will eat whatever they can catch including frogs, snakes, crayfish, fish, small mammals and even other birds. They will snag smaller prey with their strong mandibles or can use their sharp, dagger-like bills to impale larger creatures.
The Decatur County Courthouse in Greensburg is known for a tree which grows from the top of the Courthouse Tower, giving Greensburg its nickname, "Tree City".
There have been one or more trees growing continually since the first tree was noticed in the early 1870s. Later, other small trees appeared on the clock tower.

Historical evidence shows that the Grand Harbour was used as a main port since at least the Roman period. Medieval times in Malta were characterised by continual conflicts at sea, with Malta changing its feudal lords quite often. Foreign overlords had their own ships which visited the Grand Harbour on a regular basis.

The Golden Eagle is one of the largest, fastest, nimblest raptors. Beautiful gold feathers gleam on the back of its head and neck if you are lucky to get it back lit (waiting 5 hours in -19C)
It's very powerful beak and talons advertise its hunting prowess.
Golden Eagles are found throughout the northern hemisphere, from Japan to Russia, across Europe and in North America. Sometimes seen attacking large mammals, or fighting off coyotes or bears or birds in defense of its prey and young, the Golden Eagle has long inspired both reverence and fear.
A joy to watch and photograph this magnificent bird.
