This is just a proof of concept. I don't know if the metal will get too hot. But it's pretty and so smooth. I'm starting to enjoy sanding. Well, not so much the sanding but the result. Oh, and not all sanding has to be to a super high shine. This is just with 220. Since it's white, you can't see the scratches and if anything, they give some nifty surface texture. .

The orchids (which came from an event) did not last too long, so we left the heart green to echo some topiary hearts to be found in the grounds. A hedge of pink ranunculus in bud vases bring colour to the design.

These 'tree trunk' vases have been knocking around for ages. Finally I get to use them in the Stables Restaurant.

This goth "Queen of hearts" one of a kind statement necklace was created by hand.

The body of this collar necklace is needle felted wool (100% wool), fuchsia pink Czech beads and colorful embroidery thread.

My inspiration for this necklace comes from goth culture and "Alice in Wonderland Queen of Hearts".

My Home is where my heart is. Everyone may know me as a contemporary artist - I am, but this is where I spend the bulk of my time.

My partner David and I have transformed this place; tearing off half of it, adding on, filling it with the wonderful objects and art that inspire and bring more meaning to our lives.

I'm just playing around with the settings on my new camera for the most part. And having lots of fun doing it!

Even with my Architectural training I find it hard to like contemporary buildings like this that seem to have no relationship with their context. Sometimes they make good photos though.

Imagine my dismay when I broke one of only two vases that I have planned to use in Orrery for ages, once I had found the right flowers. It was the consequence of tiredness at the end of a 14 hour day and I had no choice to make both arrangements in a plain vase. This is one of those arrangements that look better in life than in a photograph and even better in the right vase(!)

Stems of Cymbidium will flop if not supported. I didn't want to add anything to detract from the flowers themselves, so I wired them to each other. I hope this technique will work!

An enormous shark sculpture dominates a modern gallery space, illuminated by daylight filtering through large windows.

This is the West Wing at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts located at 200 N Arthur Ashe Blvd, Richmond, VA.

This section of the Museum opened in 1985; it was designed by Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates and features some beautiful late Brutalist architecture.

The West Wing was sponsored significantly in part by Sydney and Frances Lewis, who owned BEST Products. Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates also designed the iconic headquarters building for BEST Products, located in neighboring Henrico County.

The cable ties become a decorative feature of the design.

To save time we kept the same vases and changed the Alliums to Scabiosa. The colour scheme was another request, as there are a lot of weddings and events at the Grove during Summer.
