A striking long-exposure shot of the iconic Sluishuis building in Amsterdam’s IJburg district. This architectural masterpiece, designed by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) and Barcode Architects, blends geometric precision with modern urban elegance. Captured at sunset, the structure’s sharp angles, glass balconies, and the serene reflection on the IJ waterway highlight the fusion of nature and cutting-edge design. A symbol of contemporary Dutch architecture and sustainable living.
The National Museum of Roman Art in Mérida, inaugurated in 1986, represents the architectural vision of Rafael Moneo. The building, constructed in exposed brick, is a tribute to the grandeur of Roman architecture, with semicircular arches that evoke the monumental constructions of the time. Designed to reflect the Roman spirit and house a significant collection of art and artifacts from ancient Emerita Augusta, the museum integrates natural light through skylights, creating a dialogue between contemporary design and the construction techniques of Ancient Rome. The rooms and galleries display sculptures, mosaics, and other archaeological remains that bear witness to the life and organization of the Roman city. The museum also extends underground, where a crypt reveals archaeological ruins integrated into the visitor experience, directly linking the present to the city's Roman past.
At first sight of this structure, I was struck by the hypnotic pattern of parallel lines flowing through space. The contrast between light and dark, combined with the graceful curve, created an almost abstract composition. I chose black and white to emphasize the geometric purity of the design.
When I encountered this doorway, I was struck by its bold geometric simplicity and the strong interplay of colors. My goal was to capture the essence of modernist design principles through this seemingly simple entrance. I carefully composed the shot to emphasize the perfect symmetry of the white vertical bands against the green wall, while the rounded square frame creates a striking portal effect. I positioned myself to ensure the concrete steps at the bottom would ground the composition while maintaining the geometric harmony above. The soft, even lighting helped to preserve the subtle details and textures while maintaining the minimalist feel I was after. For me, this image represents the beautiful intersection of form and function in modern architecture, where even a simple doorway becomes a statement of design principles.

beneath the vast blue expanse of the madrid sky, one of the cuatro torres stands tall and imposing. the kpmg building pierces the sky, its reflective glass façade capturing the fleeting shapes of clouds. today, these clouds form ethereal shapes, reminiscent of ghostly figures swirling and dancing around the skyscraper, invoking memories of the spectral apparitions from ghostbusters. the interplay between the sleek, modern structure and the wispy, transient clouds creates a scene where the earthly meets the otherworldly, blending the solidity of human achievement with the ephemeral beauty of nature.
In capturing this architectural detail, I wanted to strip away all distractions and focus purely on the power of geometric form. Working in black and white allowed me to emphasize the stark contrast between light and shadow, creating a nearly abstract composition from a concrete architectural element. The diagonal positioning was intentional - I wanted to create a sense of upward movement, as if the structure was reaching toward the darkened sky. I carefully positioned myself to capture the repetitive pattern of the architectural fins, using them as leading lines to draw the viewer's eye through the frame. The moody sky and careful processing help create a sense of drama and scale. My goal was to transform what might be seen as a simple architectural detail into a striking geometric study that blurs the line between documentary and fine art photography. The interplay of light across the repeated elements was crucial in bringing depth and dimensionality to what could otherwise have been a flat pattern. This image represents my ongoing exploration of how architectural photography can transcend simple documentation to become abstract art while still maintaining its connection to the built environment.

Architect: ODA Architecture of New York (2019)
This, recently topped out, building is going to be one of the most exciting if not THE most exciting new designs in the Navy Yard neighborhood. ODA is doing first class job unboxing Washington, to paraphrase the title of their new book, Unboxing New York. Kudos to JBG Smith for having the foresight to work with some of the best local and out of town /country design firms.

In capturing this architectural structure, I aimed to reveal the poetry hidden within the functional elements of our urban environment. The black and white conversion emphasizes the strength of lines and contrasts, transforming this technical grid into an almost meditative abstract composition. My intention was to show how the repetition of a simple pattern can create fascinating visual complexity, inviting the viewer to lose themselves in this geometric maze. Through this particular angle of view, I seek to question our perception of functional architecture, revealing its often-ignored artistic dimension.
A stunning interplay of light, glass, and structure in Berlin’s contemporary architectural landscape. The juxtaposition of solid stone steps and transparent facades creates a striking contrast, embodying the essence of urban minimalism and modern design. A reflection of movement, order, and human interaction within the city’s ever-evolving skyline.
Situated on Grand Ave, across from MOCA designed by recent Pritzker prize recipient Arata Isozaki, as well as down the street from the Walt Disney Concert Hall designed Frank Gehry. Broad Contemporary was designed by the firm of Diller, Scofidio + Renfro, with its unique facade including the occulus! This non Euclidean geometric design is the concept for what its is known between architects, and designers the "veil and the vault"!
The Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, opened in 2014, is a striking contemporary building by Frank Gehry, designed as a "glass cloud" floating above the Bois de Boulogne. It features 12 curved glass "sails” supported by an intricate steel-and-wood framework that catch the light, reflect trees, and change with the weather and seasons. The building serves as a cultural hub for contemporary art, exhibitions, and performances. Its architecture is a symbol of innovation and engineering, blending seamlessly into the park while standing out with reflective surfaces and organic shapes.
I captured it in a wide panoramic shot using a 17:6 aspect ratio, emphasizing its horizontal extent.

a runner moves through the futuristic architecture of the ciudad de las artes y las ciencias in valencia, cutting through a landscape of lines and curves. the structures frame the human figure in dynamic contrast, as light and shadows carve out patterns in an urban symphony. there is a harmony in the chaos, a rhythm in the geometric interplay between concrete, glass, and steel, softened only by the delicate movements of a solitary runner.

Tbilisi is the capital and largest city of Georgia, situated in the eastern part of the country on the banks of the Kura River. With a rich history spanning over 1,500 years, Tbilisi has been shaped by numerous cultures and civilizations over the centuries. The old part of Tbilisi, known for its charming architecture and unique atmosphere, is one of the most captivating areas of the city. In contrast, the Peace Bridge is a strikingly modern architectural marvel and one of Tbilisi’s most recognizable landmarks. Completed in 2010, the bridge was designed by Italian architect Michele de Lucchi, with lighting by French designer Philippe Martinaud. It spans the Kura River, connecting the old town with the newer districts, and serves as an important pedestrian route and a symbol of the city. The bridge’s design is particularly remarkable, featuring a glass canopy that curves gracefully over the walkway. Often compared to a giant glass wave or a sea creature, the canopy is made of steel and glass and is illuminated at night by thousands of LED lights. These lights create a breathtaking visual display and are programmed to transmit messages in Morse code, conveying universal symbols of life and peace. The Bridge of Peace is not only a functional structure but also a symbolic monument. It embodies the connection between the old and modern parts of Tbilisi and serves as a metaphor for the city’s progress toward peace and unity. The bridge is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering stunning views of the city, including the nearby Narikala Fortress, the Presidential Palace and air balloon.
The Peace Bridge in Tbilisi, Georgia, is located in the heart of the city, spanning the Kura River. Its futuristic design stands in sharp contrast to the surrounding historic architecture, making it a powerful symbol of Tbilisi’s dynamic blend of tradition and modernity. The air balloon in Tbilisi offers a unique way to view the city from above, providing passengers with panoramic views of the capital's historic and modern districts. Located near Rike Park, the balloon ascends to a height of around 150 meters, offering an unforgettable experience and stunning perspectives of iconic landmarks like the Narikala Fortress and the Peace Bridge. It’s a popular attraction for both tourists and locals looking to experience the beauty of Tbilisi from the sky.
A moment suspended between motion and stillness - where artifical waterfalls meet urban rhythms. In this modern transit space, light dances through cascading water while life flows past in streaks of color and time. The future feels tangible here, illuminated in blue and gold.
A tower wrapped in living green, reaching upward as if nature and architecture made a quiet pact. Soft light, climbing leaves, and a skyline that feels calm from below.
