A striking visual fusion in the heart of Zaragoza: the timeless beauty of La Seo Cathedral stands in bold contrast to the sleek, contemporary design of the Caesaraugusta Forum Museum entrance.
I photographed the Mann Island Buildings from a position that let the reflective water emphasise the angular glass forms of both structures. The black RIBA North building on the left and No.1 Mann Island on the right sit clearly in the frame with their modern surfaces contrasting against the older stone architecture behind them. The calm conditions allowed the reflections to appear sharp which gives a balanced view of the waterfront scene.
The photograph was taken in The Woodlands, Texas with an AstriHori 10mm lens on a Sony a6600 camera. It centers on a tall glass tower rising cleanly above the surrounding structures, its facade reduced to a grid of reflections and muted sky tones. Nearby buildings echo the same vocabulary of steel and glass, creating a compressed field of verticals and repeating surfaces. The overcast light softens the scene, allowing the architecture’s lines and proportions to take precedence over atmosphere. In the foreground, the roadway and barriers introduce a grounded horizontal counterpoint, anchoring the composition. Meandering through its high-ceilinged rooms and between great granite columns, you feel a bit like you're wandering in a stylized temple built to honor modernity.

The City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia, designed mainly by Valencian architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, is one of the largest cultural and scientific complexes in Europe. Inaugurated progressively between 1998 and 2005, the complex extends along the old bed of the Turia River, which was diverted after the devastating flood of 1957. In the image, the Hemisfèric stands out in the foreground, a building in the shape of a human eye that houses an IMAX theater, a planetarium, and a laser theater. On the right stands the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, dedicated to opera and the performing arts, with its 70 meters in height. On the left, you can see the structure of the Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe. The intense sunset, with shades of pink, orange, and violet, is reflected in the water mirrors that surround the buildings, the central landscape element of the complex. Calatrava's organic and futuristic architecture has transformed this area into a tourist and urban icon of Valencia.

I photographed Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral from a position that emphasised the strong vertical lines of its crown like structure rising above the entrance. The concrete facade with its large cross sits clearly in the centre of the frame and shows the geometric character of the building. The steps and open foreground provide an unobstructed view of the cathedral and its modernist design.

Tbilisi is the capital and largest city of Georgia, situated in the eastern part of the country on the banks of the Kura River. With a rich history spanning over 1,500 years, Tbilisi has been shaped by numerous cultures and civilizations over the centuries. The old part of Tbilisi, known for its charming architecture and unique atmosphere, is one of the most captivating areas of the city. In contrast, the Peace Bridge is a strikingly modern architectural marvel and one of Tbilisi’s most recognizable landmarks. Completed in 2010, the bridge was designed by Italian architect Michele de Lucchi, with lighting by French designer Philippe Martinaud. It spans the Kura River, connecting the old town with the newer districts, and serves as an important pedestrian route and a symbol of the city. The bridge’s design is particularly remarkable, featuring a glass canopy that curves gracefully over the walkway. Often compared to a giant glass wave or a sea creature, the canopy is made of steel and glass and is illuminated at night by thousands of LED lights. These lights create a breathtaking visual display and are programmed to transmit messages in Morse code, conveying universal symbols of life and peace. The Bridge of Peace is not only a functional structure but also a symbolic monument. The flowing drapery forms a temporary pavilion that softens the rigidity of the urban fabric, while the heritage tower behind it anchors the scene in the city’s architectural memory.
The result is a spatial moment where past and present overlap, modern expression layered over historical context, revealing how contemporary design can reinterpret and coexist with heritage rather than replace it.

In capturing this building from this particular angle, I sought to transcend mere architectural representation to reveal the graphic rhythm that animates our urban environment. My intention was to transform this facade into an almost abstract composition, where sharp white lines dialogue with the deep blues of the windows. I deliberately chose this diagonal perspective to create visual tension and give an impression of movement to this static structure. This tight framing eliminates any superfluous context, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in this pure geometric play. I wanted the eye to get lost in this rhythmic repetition, in this alternation of solids and voids, to offer a visual experience that transcends simple architectural documentation and becomes a meditation on the formal beauty that surrounds us daily.

While photographing the Da Lat Opera House, I wanted to capture the essence of this contemporary architecture standing against the Vietnamese sky. My intention was to highlight the purity of geometric lines through a black and white treatment that emphasizes the contrasts and graphic dimension of the structure.
I chose this particular angle to create a clean composition where triangular patterns draw a visual choreography on the curved surface of the dome. The dark sky in the background enhances the structure's brightness, while the black and white conversion sublimes the building's geometry by eliminating any chromatic distraction.
