This is part of series of photographs of the suitcase leading into Caixa Forum Madrid. Originally, I had envisioned the series as a set of monochrome images. However, when I first processed them I was so pleased with the colour versions that I decided that the monochrome versions could wait. All images of the Caixa Forum staircases, both colour and monochrome, are available here Caixa Forum Madrid.
Bilbao is the most fascinating example of urban renewal and reinvention. Phoenix rising from the ashes. The commission of the Guggenheim Museum to Frank O. Gehry was not only a huge gamble of city leaders that played out beautifully, but also what made Gehry the starchitect he has been ever since.

Aquest edifici es caracteritza per un espai central buit que és just el que es mostra en aquesta fotografia i que fixe l’entrada de la llum solar. La façanaestà coberta per cedre roig qur és bella i fa que l’obra no sembli pesada com el ciment.

Opened in 2006. It occupies 55,000 square meters built. It has a complex geometry, basically elliptical, with a perimeter structure sloping towards the sea, to adapt to the heights of the surrounding buildings. It is supported by 110 metal tensioners per floor, 40% of the structure is supported from the roof while the rest is maintained by concrete core cores. An empty central space is set up, which organizes the building internally, framing the sea views and regulating the entry of sunlight. % of the coating. The roof is occupied by solar panels for energy production.
Every time I visit Hong Kong harbour, I get overwhelmed by the skyline. Since we were a bit late I wasn't able to photograph it in the blue hour. But this "Gotham city"- approach is also worth watching.
Enjoy!
