At the first installment of the Back-to-Basics Boot Camp: Survival Skills for Sustainable City Living workshops, presented by ReadyMade and Socrates Sculpture Park, at Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, NYC.

I took an empty cardboard salt container and completely covered it with polymer clay. The lid is a cardboard duct tape roll that I also covered in clay. They fit together perfectly, like they were made for each other!
I nearly called this picture "Christmas is coming" as it reminded me of a news story a couple of autumns ago about the arrival of an enormous container ship in the UK which was full of toys and electrical goods from China. The headlines used by the papers were along the lines Christmas is delivered etc.

All of the onions you see here are from last year. I moved them to containers. We've already started eating them. I didn't know if they would be good, but they've been fine. The tomato plant is one I started from seed and is doing the best of all my pitiful tomato plants. The tree is from an acorn I *didn't* plant, but it started to grow in a place it would never survive, so I put it in a container and may try to plant it in the front yard later. Canby, Oregon.
