Set against Little Barrier Island, the Container ship gives some scale to this massive island. Shipping is a rare sight here, unlike the English Channel. We were anchored in Abercrombie harbour Great Barrier when we saw this ship in the distance

This San Antonio guest house is designed by Poteet Architects — who were recently honored with the 2010 San Antonio AIA Design Award for the project. This is proof that any small space, no matter its origin, can be transformed into a very functional and chic home. The secret is in the planning and the details.

This is where the old used shipping containers go when they are no longer up to standards for the shipping compainies. These are what get loaded onto ships by the various sets of cranes that stand on the harbor's edge like gigantic imperial walkers.
These Containers have been all over the world and now they are stacked up in gigantic block sculptures where they hope to be sold as storage or living quarters, or maybe even as shipping containers again. I wonder if the people who stack them are aware of their role as structural artists.
