A laden container ship makes its way up the Firth of Clyde on a hazy summers evening between Arran and Little Cumbrae with the mull of kintyre in the background.
The modern intrusion on this ancient landscape provides some regular hard shapes within the softness of the evening hills and the natural cliffs on the southern end of little cumbrae, late enough in the evening to mute the colours and flatten the summer sky.
This arrangement was from my lesson this week, using flowers that match or are in the same tonal range as the container. I bought this great continer at Hinkley Pottery's spring sale this year, and used japanese maple, peach hypericum berries and bronze mums.l

Jai tapé le code à tout hasard et un clic plus tard, j'apprenais que le container a été chargé à Madagascar le 29 septembre, a été transbordé à Port-Louis (Ile Maurice) le 6 octobre, a été transbordé une nouvelle fois à Port Elizabeth (Afrique du Sud) le 5 novembre et a été déchargé à Anvers le 26 novembre... et je peux même vous dire que le bateau qui l'a amené de Port Elizabeth à Anvers fait actuellement route vers Caucedo en République dominicaine à une vitesse de 18 noeuds... Moi, ça me fait rêver, pas vous?

Passed the container ship Cosco Malaysia on our way into New York City on Sunday November 13th, 2022. Even on a rainy morning, the return to New York City is a sight to behold. Some nice views of ships, the Statue of Liberty (more tagged elsewhere), passing under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, and lighthouses in the harbor. On board the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas for the Seven Night Ladabee & Puerto Plata Cruise (November 6th through 13th, 2022). The cruise embarks from Cape Liberty (Bayone, NJ) with stops at Labadee, Haiti and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic before heading back to New York City. The itinerary changed after Hurricane Nicole canceled our planned stops.
