A special project I've been working on for a local church depicting "being on fire", in reference to being on "fire" in the faith and being alive through the holy spirit! This isn't the final product, as you might see some wires still hanging around but I just wanted to show you guys what I've been up to! More stuff to be posted later!
This Osprey was consuming her catch.
All of sudden, Marlin flew over her head so close to harass.
She had no choice but duck down to such a awkward posture.
Båstnäs Car Cemetery, Sweden. Shot on film. Used an expired Kodak Portra 160NC (15 years old) and developed it with an expired Tetenal Colortec C 41 developer kit (about 3.5 years old). This junkyard or car cemetery was created by 2 brothers deep in the woods ( 25km from the main road) in Sweden.
I accidentally discovered this abandoned house when I was on my way to Tai O Heritage Hotel in Lantau Island. What intrigued me was the way the tree roots climbed on both sides of the building. That tells me this building must be pretty old. Incidentally, there are petroglyphs dated back to the Bronze Age near this area.

This photo holds the moment when the lines begin to move, not just across your skin, but into your spirit. They mesmerize, like whispers of a pattern you’ve known. It’s as if the light is sending a message to your future self, a quiet reminder to align, to be present, to flow with the rhythm of life. In these shadows and stripes, there’s order, there’s chaos, and there’s you, somewhere between, becoming whole.
blog. facebook. original & more in comments. inspired.
You cannot go back. You can only move forward.
This picture definitely means a lot to me because it really just sums up how i've been feeling for the past few months.
& this is my first time using a texture! I really love how this turned out. I'm definitely going to be using textures more often in my pictures now.
did you know - the regulations for tapwater are actually stricter than those for bottled water? and that between the creation of the plastic bottle and delivery of said bottle to your person, somewhere on the order of 4 ounces of oil are consumed? In the US alone, 500,000,000 bottles of water are consumed annually. yup, that's 49 million barrels of oil.
go tap folks.
When an animal is killed or dies in Yellowstone National Park, it is consumed by predators in less than a day. This coyote has seen or has smelled the downed Antelope and is on his way to join in.
IMMA June 24 : A recent addition to the series. The similarities in body angles in the frame and the viewer caught my eye, as of course did the vibrant colour of the wall
This is one of those places that blew my mind when I drove up to it, having no idea what to expect. I just wish the light was a little better that day. One place I will revisit very soon.
Another morning, another early morning destination within driving reach. Today, the destination was the cliffs south of the onkaparinga mouth. The water was not too cold but high tides, rocks and me = wet me while protecting camera.
I met Robin Chok for the shoot this morning - nice to shoot with another perspective.
This image is 2 shots taken as single exposures stitched manually in CS4 for the vertorama effect.

Blackberry bushes will eat anything... I think the whole city would look like this in about a month if we all left. That is the Fremont Bridge peeking into the upper right of the frame.
Again shot without the viewfinder because I wanted to use my new lens and the viewfinder wasn't here yet!
My new external hard drive took a spill and won't connect anymore... So I've been trying to recover as much crap off of all my cards as I can.
Haven't had much luck.
But I did find some old gems in some recovery folders I forgot about... Last year in August or something I accidentally formatted a memory card and had to recover, and apparently I haven't deleted the recovery folder =)
On a side note,
I've been doing so much thinking about photography, etc. in the past couple days...
I've been taking my 4x5 out around the backyard just to look through the ground glass and compose some mental photos... I sorta feel lost until I look through a viewfinder or some ground glass, once I do it feels like my head is clear and I'm focused.
I guess in all reality I am still completely connected to this art, there's no trying to deny that anymore.
I'm going to do everything I possibly can to buy a Nikon D3x and a couple lenses by this Fall.
I played with one at Mikes Camera yesterday...
Dumb idea if I had half a brain, but I don't, so I played with it anyways.
Now I must own one.
Pretty short hiatus huh?
My bad...
Small caterpillar fallen prey to a parasitic braconid wasp. The caterpillar is paralysed and the wasp lays eggs on to its body. Once hatched they enter the caterpillar and consume the animal from within.
I posted a photo a couple months ago of this place, wasn't too happy with it, so I went back and took some better pictures with much better available light.
A view across part of Attenborough nature reserve with Ratcliffe on Soar Power Station on the horizon, 8th March 2024.
In 1929 large-scale commercial gravel extraction began around Attenborough and would continue for the next ninety years. The extraction formed deep lagoons and as the extraction moved away from the works the gravel was transported by barge through the ever-expanding network of lagoons. In 1965, an application from the Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB) looked to fill the lagoons with ash from Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station. However, by this time, the pits were already well-known for their wildlife interest and extensively used by local fishermen and birdwatchers, with records starting around 1948. Due to the strength of local feeling the CEGB withdrew their application and the ash was taken to Fletton, Peterborough. Discussions then began with the site’s then owners, Trent Gravels Ltd, about the future for the lagoons and it was agreed to develop the site as a nature reserve in parallel with continued gravel extraction. The opening ceremony as a nature reserve was in 1966 and was performed by David Attenborough. Gravel extraction has now finished, and the works have been demolished, whilst the nature reserve now welcomes around 500,000 visitors per year and is regarded as one of the best sites in the UK to see kingfishers.
Ratcliffe on Soar 2116MW power station was built in the mid-1960s and opened in 1968 and is one of the biggest coal fired power stations built in the country. In 1981, the station was burning 5.5 million tonnes of coal a year, consuming 65% of the output of the south Nottinghamshire coalfield. Emissions of sulphur dioxide, which caused acid rain, were greatly reduced in 1993 when a flue gas desulphurisation system using a wet limestone-gypsum process became operational on the four boilers. Emissions of nitrogen oxides which also cause damage to the ozone layer, were reduced in 2004 when Ratcliffe became the first in the United Kingdom to be fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. One of the last coal fired power stations still in use it is due to close in 2025.
American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) Community Garden, Kelowna Rec Field, Kelowna, BC.
Part 2 of the big afternoon:
So how does a kestrel consume a vole?
You consume me!
Like a burning flame running through my veins,
You consume me, moving through me.
Anytime, anyplace, You invade my space,
You consume me.
