the "present a consistent brand" challenge.

Challenge

When British Aerospace rebranded as BAE Systems, the company needed an agency that could handle a wide range of projects, with the ability to communicate complex information and operate as a ‘Brand Guardian’. With so many people within BAE Systems commissioning work, it was vital that ICG could help support and protect the integrity of the corporate brand.

Discuss

Since day one of our relationship with BAE Systems, ICG recognised that even the best guidelines are open to interpretation - so we talked to as many people as possible to ensure that our designs would shine as examples of good practise.

Solution

ICG established a dedicated account team to develop short lines of communication with our client, and we trained all our staff on the brand guidelines - so no matter what the deadline, there’s always someone who can help. We have also been given official access to their intranet style guide, so that we can double-check a design layout at any time.

Result

The projects that BAE Systems continue to commission are the result of a 15-year old relationship based on trust and quality of service. We have been consistently singled out for introducing creativity without compromising brand guidelines.

Zoogeografia

Praia do Amado beach is popular with surfers and tourists alike. Consistent NW swells make Amado beach an ideal place for surfing. In the middle of the beach lies Pedra do Cavaleiro (Knight's Rock) which is a great place for fishing when the conditions are right. In Portuguese the word "amado" means "beloved" and it's easy to see why it's such a popular place.

October 22, 2021: even though I just had the #flu, I got my #SeasonalFluShot at the 49th Parallel #Pharmacy & #Medical #Clinic in @CityOfWhiteRock … so now I’m feeling like I could #sleep for a #week & I did nap after #dinner. I had a big #salad & a #burger loaded with greens from @earlsrestaurant. I also had some #fruit for desert, along with a yummy chocolate chip pecan #cookie from @lauras_coffee_corner (so good!).

I’ve had my #flushot most years over the last two decades. More so when my #allergies were really bad, before I went on #shots for a few years just over a decade ago. I’ve never had adverse reactions to it, & I’ve largely avoided the flu over the years with the exception of getting very #sick in January/February 2020, which may have been #COVID_19.

I’ve done some #cleaning tonight, so I feel good about that. I’m listening about #depression through a @udemy course by psychologist Dr Randy Paterson. This course focuses on the #RiskFactors for depression.

I’m still struggling as I’ve not been #consistent still with getting stuff done. Old patterns are back: I’ve slept in a lot, stayed up late, & stopped #meditating & #journaling. I’ve not called back community support services that have left so many messages now & seems to have given up on trying to call again. This is what would hook me up with group therapy. I don’t know why I end up like this - unable to fix the causes behind the messes in my life. It’s one of the key associations Dr @jordan.b.peterson lists as possibly connected to being borderline, & I know I can’t diagnose myself but in a July 27, 2017 @bitesizedphilosophy YouTube video, “Jordan Peterson - Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)” he explained how: “1 of the things that’s interesting about people with BPD is that they’re often quite intelligent, & you see in the person with BPD, something like the waste or squandering of tremendous potential. They seem capable of thinking through the nature of their problems, & analyzing them & discussing it, but not capable whatsoever of implementing any solutions” (2m 45s). That’s been me to a T for years now. So that’s something to explore with the psychologist I see in December.

TIDE POOLIN'

Leo Carrillo beach in Malibu is consistently one of my favorite places to visit and photograph. I just love climbing around the rocks and investigating the tide pool. There are several ways to get there, but I usually take the 101 North to Malibu Canyon, head south over to Pacific Coast Highway, then West (a right turn) on PCH approximately 25 miles until you hit Leo Carrillo. From the Valley to Leo it's about a 45 minute to hour drive each way. The tide pool is just in front of the #3 lifeguard tower (and incidentally, dogs are allowed on leash from this tower and continuing west up the beach). I just google low tide Malibu to find out the best time to go there and check out the tide pool. Usually there's a several hour window about an hour before to an hour after low tide that's good. If you go after that, the waves usually are just hitting the rocks too hard and it can be dangerous to stand there. I always see tons of starfish (many different colors including orange, light blue, and purple), sea anemones (they are really fun to touch), mussels, crabs (little teeny black ones and bigger red ones), and even little fish swimming in the watery crags and crevices of the tide pool rocks. And I've spotted dolphins and whales from this beach. After an outing at Leo Carrillo, I always stop at this little food shack called Malibu Seafood, located just before you find yourself back at Malibu Canyon. It's totally no frills - you order food inside, wait for your number to be called, and find an open bench to sit down. My fave meals there are swordfish with rice pilaf and salad (the ranch is really good), fish and chips, clam chowder, or a pot of steamed clams in a nice broth.

ODC-Cool

Taken out the living room window this morning. It's cool out there this morning. Only in the 30's. We got snow over night again :) I love love love it! It makes this brown desert look so pretty. This is probably the most consistent winter I've ever seen in the 13 plus years I have lived here!

After several months of consistent rain and poor weather, the final landscaping and site amenities are complete at the new concrete skatepark in Junction City, Oregon. That means the park is officially open for shredding! Shout out to Benson from Tactics Board Shop for the great photos of one of our latest design/build projects.

Smallish "wren-like" sparrow with a narrow forked-tip tail that was often cocked up like a wren's tail. Field marks seemed consistent with a Nelson's. I tried to take several photos, but only one seemed to be kind of diagnostic. It's a fuzzy photo of the bird taking flight from a foxtail stem. The narrow fork-tipped tail is fairly clear in the photo. I'm interested to hear what others might think:

We consistently overlook peoples who is important in our life, especially our loved ones(lover, family and friends).. was sharing with another 2 friends, sometimes being in love is merely being presence for them..taking great care of them physically and spiritually, when they are sick we are there to nurse, when rain fall, we are here to offer sunshine, every little things and moments seem heavenly and touching the miracles of being in selfless love..2 become 1 and even a simple teh tarik taste extremely great..yes its possible to live happily in the here and now. So many conditions of happiness are available as long as we are content, we are happy with the hands we are holding years after years, sitting next to each other and never get bore with what ordinary life has to offer..we don't have to run to nice scenic places to enjoy the miracle of genuine love..simply be present simply be here...cause we have each other hands to hold, body(thin or fat) to hugs and gentle soothing voice to listen too:) Happy Valentines Day in advance! Big Hugs from Enrick

being consistently adorable is not helping! But I'm thinking a wig like this in brown.

Defensive behavior. Interstingly, every time I flipped it over, it would panic, right itself, do this for a couple of seconds, then run again. Very consistent.

the "consistent UK delivery of a global brand" challenge.

Challenge

Sodexo Land Technology a division of global food and facilities management provider Sodexo is a leading supplier of grounds maintenance services. The division needed an agency that could deliver ongoing projects from exhibition stands, brochures to news stories tailored to promote its services whilst retaining clear global corporate branding and core quality messages.

Discuss

ICG was able to draw upon its previous experience in this sector and of working with global brands such as BAE Systems. Our team ensured that we had all the available design and copy guidelines from the onset and engaged in regular dialogue with the client through each project so that the highest levels of creativity were achieved within the brand umbrella.

Solution

ICG established a core team of ICG 'Sodexo experts' across the design and PR disciplines to support the achievement of synergy between the creative graphics and copy required for all work produced. In addition, short lines of communication between ICG and our client supports the speedy and efficient completion of projects.

Result

ICG has worked with Sodexo for four years and requests for support has grown to encompass wider ranging projects – from the design and writing of newsletters and customer surveys to corporate presentations and commissioning photographers.

Saying that Delaware has made consistent progress in reducing its infant mortality rate, Governor Carney told the Delaware Maternal and Child Health Summit on April 17 that the goal is that “every child in Delaware is born healthy” and has the opportunity to be successful in his or her life.

“I’m optimistic that we can address all of these challenges,” the Governor said in figuring out new and innovative ways to bring down the state’s infant mortality rate from its current 7.5 deaths per 1,000 live births to match or fall below the national average rate of 5.9. Delaware’s infant mortality rate has declined from a high of 9.3 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2005. The Delaware Healthy Mothers and Infants Consortium was created in 2005 to address Delaware’s high rate of infant deaths.

“The fact that some segments in our state already have birth outcomes that are better than the national average is a clear indication that we can get there together,” DHSS Secretary Dr. Kara Odom Walker said of the state’s white infant mortality rate that is at 5.1 deaths per 1,000 live births. The black infant mortality rate in Delaware is 12.5. “For the families who experience this terrible nightmare, we can do better,” Secretary Walker said. “That’s what gets me up every day, knowing we can do better.”

Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, a registered nurse, also applauded the progress made to reduce infant mortality in the state, but said the measure is a public health indicator of a state’s overall health.

Attorney General Matt Denn said the increasing number of substance-exposed infants in the state indicates that “the opioid crisis is a healthy infants crisis as well.”

Kenn Harris of New Haven Healthy Start, one of the summit’s keynote speakers, has devoted his career to child and maternal health after he and his wife lost their second son as a baby. “There is no single fix for this issue of infant mortality … It takes innovation,” he said in encouraging the more than 300 attendees at the Chase Center to listen to and engage their communities. “We have to work on our listening.”

World’s Best Surfers Ignite Aproador to Complete Round 1 of Billabong Rio Pro

APROADOR, Rio de Janeiro/Brazil (Tuesday, May 17, 2011) – After a week of lay-days, the world’s best surfers tore into consistently changing conditions at the lefthand pointbreak of Aproador to complete Round 1 of the Billabong Rio Pro.

Stop No. 3 of 11 on the ASP World Title Series, the opening day of men’s competition saw ASP Dream Tour veterans earn the day’s top scores while defending event winner Jadson Andre (BRA), 21, made an impressive entrance in the Billabong Rio Pro’s opening round.

Kelly Slater (USA), 39, reigning 10-time ASP World Champion, got off to a strong start to open his Billabong Rio Pro campaign. Slater unleashed two furious tail-drifting backhand turns to notch the day’s highest single-wave score of a 9.00 (out of 10) midway through his bout to overtake ASP World Tour rookie Julian Wilson (AUS), 22, and event wildcard Peterson Crisanto (BRA), 18, after nearly missing the start of his heat.

“That 9 felt good,” Slater said. “I went down to grab my jersey and there was some confusion. By the time I got out, the heat had already started and Julian got that first one. It wasn’t a good start. I knew there were going to be some good ones and I just had to be patient. That one good wave actually let me bottom turn and hit the lip, most of the waves were soft and had a lot of horizontals.”

Slater, who finished runner-up at the Billabong Pro last year, was also quick to admit that several goofy-footers will be tough to beat at the lefthander of Aproador and noted that the natural-footers will need to be especially selective in their wave choice at the Billabong Rio Pro.

“A little left like this is going to play well for goofy footers,” Slater said. “Owen (Wright) and Jadson (Andre) are probably frothing on it and licking their chops ready to go. We (natural footers) have been on our frontside at Snapper and Bells and now it’s their turn. We’ve just got to try and be smart. Mick (Fanning) looked good and there are waves out there to do it, you’ve just got to be smart.”

Taj Burrow (AUS), 32, opened his Billabong Rio Pro campaign with a sharp backhand attack by belting two Arpoador lefthanders to the tune of a 16.83 (out of 20) on his first two waves to earn the highest heat-total of the day. The Australian veteran notched his Round 1 heat win over dangerous Brazilian rookie Alejo Muniz (BRA), 21, and event wildcard Ricardo Santos (BRA), 20.

“It was kind of scary for a second there, right when they decided to start the competition the wind started howling, but then it cleaned up heaps,” Burrow said. “I got two fun ones at the start so I’m happy.”

Jadson Andre, defending event winner, reveled in Aproador’s lefthanders with a combination of aggressive carves and snaps to take a convincing Round 1 heat victory with the support of the Brazilian crowd behind him.

“I’m so happy to be here competing in Brazil and I love Aproador, I feel like a local,” Andre said. “I’ve competed here several times before and have friends here. I know everyone says I should feel pressure as defending champion, but I’m not worried about it. I’m just thinking about the next heat. That’s what I did last year.”

Mick Fanning (AUS), 29, two-time ASP World Champion, slowly built momentum in his opening Billabong Rio Pro heat, eventually igniting two lefthanders by combining a series of seamless backhand turns to notch a 15.07 heat total to advance directly through to Round 3.

“It was tricky trying to find the right one out there, but I watched the heat before and noticed that guys that were doing turns back-to-back were getting scores, so I tried to concentrate on that,” Fanning said. “They weren’t the biggest waves, but they just allowed three turns straight away.”

The Australian talent also expressed the importance of advancing directly through to Round 3 with Brazil’s ever-changing conditions.

“It’s really good to skip as many rounds as possible, especially here in Brazil where it can be really unpredictable,” Fanning said. “I’m stoked to get through Round 1 and I’ll go back and assess what’s going on and hopefully keep going.”

Billabong Rio Pro event organizers will reconvene at Aproador at 7am local time tomorrow morning for a possible Round 2 start.

Consistent and quick. Two adjectives that rarely associate themselves directly with Dodge Neons. This guy proves that it's 90% driver ability.

To consistently control the speed and direction of the cue ball, I put boards next to each other, with the far end raised about six inches, and changed the width of the crack between two boards to control direction, and further control the speed. I racked it a little loose, to get a little more action and strange directions. The cue ball wasn't moving very fast, so the one second exposure worked out very nicely. 50mm lens.

No one can doubt the beauty and appeal of Ka`anapali Beach. It consistently ranks among the best beaches in the world, often topping the list.

But I have some very mixed feelings about Ka`anapali. I love the place; I go there to be part of the experience and to enjoy the waters there. Here's the catch: Ka`anapali Beach Resort didn't exist until 50 years ago when it was the first proposed by a group of investors, American Factors, Inc. (Amfac) as the world's first fully master-planned destination resort. It's magnificent. There are now seven major resorts, two condominium complexes, and an upscale shopping area along this mile of beach. The idea was a good one, because changes in the sugar cane industry left this area unused at that time, and an influx of part of the burgeoning tourist industry could help.

However, cultural insensitivity was and remains rampant. That black rock outcropping in the distance, known in English as "Black Rock," is Pu`u Keka`a, a sacred place to native Hawaiians that legend says was placed there by the demigod Maui. It was believed to be the place that the spirits of the dead left the earth to join their ancestors.

When the Sheraton Corporation was invited to be one of the prime developers of the resort area, they were given the area around Pu`u Keka`a. That's the Sheraton that now sits on top, around, and into the rock.

Most tourists never get to know the Hawaiian people, their culture, their language, and their history. The luaus they experience are the packaged ones offered by the resorts, and many people have no idea how ingrained into the present culture that song and hula continue to be. Tourists come for the sun and the sand, and many never leave this very well-planned and very complete resort area. That is such a loss!

Perhaps, though, the ancient mana (spiritual power or essence) remains; it was a couple of years ago while snorkeling along the wall of that sacred black rock that, as I was swimming with honu (sea turtles), I first heard the song of the whales from underwater.

VIP #35-50. A hunt with such consistently great stuff makes it hard for me to pick out for critique, but I certainly don't mind that. Ithink what's more frustrating is that since nearly everything is good, nothing stands out. I hope these pics are thus eclectic enough to provide their own type of amusement. I can say that the item I'm least likely to wear (based on my own style) is the female gift from Sassy Kitty (#37), which is somewhat revealing in the under-bust (and depending on what top you wear, the nipple) area. The ones I'm most likely to wear are these boots from Virus Co (#49) and the sneakers from Shinji @ Fukmi (#43). And good news, men: both are resize scripted. The store I'm most likely to spend money at is the one I already bought something from while hunting: LiNe (#39), where I got a great set of hair for a very nice price.

Millard Fillmore (January 7, 1800 – March 8, 1874) was the 13th President of the United States (1850–1853) and the last member of the Whig Party to hold the office of president. As Zachary Taylor's Vice President, he assumed the presidency after Taylor's death.

Fillmore opposed the proposal to keep slavery out of the territories annexed during the Mexican–American War in order to appease the South. He supported the Compromise of 1850, which he signed, including the Fugitive Slave Act ("Bloodhound Law") which was part of the compromise.

After his presidency, he joined the Know-Nothing movement; throughout the Civil War, he opposed President Abraham Lincoln and during Reconstruction supported President Andrew Johnson.

He is consistently included in the bottom 10 of historical rankings of Presidents of the United States.

Fillmore was born in a log cabin in Moravia, Cayuga County, in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, on January 7, 1800, to Nathaniel Fillmore and Phoebe Millard, as the second of nine children and the eldest son.

His father apprenticed him to cloth maker Benjamin Hungerford in Sparta, New York, at age fourteen to learn the cloth-making trade. He struggled to obtain an education living on the frontier and attended New Hope Academy for six months in 1819. Later that year, he began to clerk for Judge Walter Wood of Montville, New York, under whom Fillmore began to study law.

He fell in love with Abigail Powers, who ws one of his teachers at New Hope Academy; they married on February 5, 1826. The couple had two children, Millard Powers Fillmore and Mary Abigail Fillmore.

After leaving Wood and buying out his apprenticeship, Fillmore moved to Buffalo, where he continued his studies in the law office of Asa Rice and Joseph Clary. He was admitted to the bar in 1823 and began his law practice in East Aurora where, in 1825, he built a house for his new bride.

In 1828, Fillmore was elected to the New York State Assembly on the Anti-Masonic ticket, serving three one-year terms, from 1829 to 1831. In his final term he chaired a special legislative committee to enact a new bankruptcy law that eliminated debtors' prison. He later won election as a Whig (having followed his mentor Thurlow Weed into the party) to the 23rd Congress in 1832, serving from 1833 to 1835. He was reelected in 1836 to the 25th Congress, to the 26th and to the 27th Congresses serving from 1837 to 1843, declining to be a candidate for re-nomination in 1842.

In Congress, he opposed admitting Texas as a slave territory, he advocated internal improvements and a protective tariff, he supported John Quincy Adams by voting to receive anti-slavery petitions, he advocated the prohibition by Congress of the slave trade between the states, and he favored the exclusion of slavery from the District of Columbia.

In 1834, he formed a law partnership, Fillmore and Hall, with close friend Nathan K. Hall (who would later serve in his cabinet as Postmaster General)..

In 1846, he founded the private University of Buffalo, which today is the public University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, the largest school in the New York state university system.

Zachary Taylor received the Whig nomination for President in 1848. Fillmore was chosen as the Vice Presidential nominee. After Taylor died suddenly on July 9, 1850, Fillmore became president. When Fillmore took office, the entire cabinet offered their resignations. Fillmore accepted them all and appointed men who, except for Treasury Secretary Thomas Corwin, favored the Compromise of 1850. When the compromise finally came before both Houses of Congress, it was very watered down. As a result, Fillmore urged Congress to pass the original bill. This move only provoked an enormous battle where "forces for and against slavery fought over every word of the bill." To Fillmore's disappointment the bitter battle over the bill crushed public support. At this critical juncture, President Fillmore announced his support of the Compromise of 1850.

Some northern Whigs remained irreconcilable, refusing to forgive Fillmore for having signed the Fugitive Slave Act. They helped deprive him of the Presidential nomination in 1852.

Three weeks after he left office in March 1853, his wife, Abigail, died of pneumonia. After the sudden death from cholera of his daughter Mary in 1854, Fillmore went abroad.

By 1856, Fillmore's Whig Party had ceased to exist, having fallen apart due to dissension over the slavery issue, and especially the Kansas–Nebraska Act of 1854. Fillmore refused to join the new Republican Party, where many former Whigs, including Abraham Lincoln, had found refuge. Instead, Fillmore joined the anti-immigrant, anti-Catholic American Party, the political organ of the Know-Nothing movement.

He ran in the election of 1856 as the party's presidential candidate, attempting to win a nonconsecutive second term as President (a feat accomplished only once in American politics, by Grover Cleveland). His running mate was Andrew Jackson Donelson, nephew of former president Andrew Jackson. Fillmore and Donelson finished third, carrying only the state of Maryland and its eight electoral votes; but he won 21.6% of the popular vote, one of the best showings ever by a Presidential third-party candidate.

On February 10, 1858, Fillmore married Caroline McIntosh, a wealthy widow. Their combined wealth allowed them to purchase a big house in Buffalo, New York. The house became the center of hospitality for visitors, until the health of Fillmore's wife began to decline in the 1860s.

Throughout the Civil War, Fillmore opposed President Lincoln and during Reconstruction supported President Johnson.

He died at 11:10 pm on March 8, 1874, of the aftereffects of a stroke. His last words were alleged to be, upon being fed some soup, "the nourishment is palatable."

He was buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo.

A consistent favorite in both style and glaze combination. Cobalt blue and brown seem to go with everything!

In many fantasies, particularly in very popular YA fantasy series, magic seems…well…magical. Things happen, for no reason beyond the quick application of a magic wand. Is it possible to make magic systems consistent? Who are some authors who’ve managed to achieve this?

L.E. Modesitt Jr., Tim Powers, Pat Rothfuss, Jo Walton (m), Gregory A. Wilson

Consistent with my (improving) state of health, here's another ropey shot.
