James Borrell is a UK based conservation biologist with a passion for expeditions and adventure having been involved in projects on four continents.

In early 2012 James led the scientific fieldwork of an expedition to the Empty Quarter and Dhofar Mountains of Oman. Here they undertook a wide range of research with a particular focus on establishing the presence of the critically endangered Arabian Leopard, a species thought to number less than 250 in the wild.

Films4Conservation are looking for funding for a documentary based in this village to serve several purposes:

1) Involve community in a film project and get their voices heard by a wider audience (We are seven hours walk into the jungle here from the nearest track).

2) Educate people around the park about the importance of tiger conservation and the importance of the forest to traditional people

3) Provide an example of best practice for conservationists to see the benefits of working with local people

4) To raise the profile of the Tiger Team to help secure more funding for their projects, including school building in the forest.

Only 400 Sumatran Tigers survive in the wild. We want to help local initiatives to save these animals and improve the livelihoods of those who share their forest home.

The quality of these pictures is not good, it was dark and wet and wolves don't tend to keep still. However, meeting wolves is not something you do everyday.
