Yikes! This family were sitting quietly having a home made lunch and made the mistake of dropping a bit on the ground at the Japanese Garden in the Mt. Coot-tha ( pronounced Cootha) Botanic Gardens in Brisbane. The Eastern Water Dragon approached confidently, the family became less confident and it wasn't long, one or two hesitant moves before it moved in on the tasty morsels and they moved out fairly rapidly.
The water dragons are very populous around Brisbane parks, gardens and along the river and, unless you know them and their habits, can be quite confronting. They have "the look" to intimidate! But are harmless and fun to watch.

Kronstadt also spelled Kronshtadt, Cronstadt or Kronštádt (from German: Krone for "crown" and Stadt for "city"; Estonian: Kroonlinn) is an early 18th-century foundation which became an important international centre of commerce whose trade role was eclipsed by the growth of its strategic significance in the ensuing centuries as the primary maritime defence outpost of the former Russian capital. It is now the port city in Kronshtadtsky District of the federal city of Saint Petersburg, Russia, located on Kotlin Island, 30 kilometers (19 mi) west of Saint Petersburg, near the head of the Gulf of Finland. It is linked to the former Russian capital by a combination levee-causeway-seagate, the St Petersburg Dam, part of the city's flood defences, which also acts as road access to Kotlin island from the mainland. In March 1921, the island city was the site of the Kronstadt rebellion.

In the pause before battle, two classic opponents size each other up...
This started off as the bottom half of my Castle on a Cloud from Vignweek. Imagine that tiny castle on top of these ruins and you'll see why I took that a different direction. In retrospect, I wish I had gone this direction! Sometime I hope to give my ruins/cloud castle concept a second life but for now, I'm happy with the pair of fantasy vignettes I got out of it!
As for the dragon... I got some inspiration from these dragons and also from Nui-Long 2 (which I couldn't pin). Was fun to find another use for my dark red macaroni tiles! And those wings--been wanting to use them since Firstbourne a couple years ago, perfect opportunity!
I've always shied away from creature building, but the ones I've been doing lately haven't been as hard as I anticipated. Maybe I'll try more critters in the future. :D

Not the best of shots but a rare moment. Taken at distance on a dull day through glass. Two male Blackbirds. Like robins they are very territorial & seconds after this shot the one on the right saw the intruder off! Added a texture to soften next door`s ghastly garage. Note my nice new fence!
