This view shows the configuration of the SX-70's viewfinder quite well. The first look into the SX-70's viewfinder is a little disconcerting, if not somewhat disorienting - the unusual optical system creates a real image that resides at a location in space about 20mm from the viewfinder eyepiece. This gives the SX-70's viewing system very good eye relief (i.e., it has a large exit pupil, so that one can see the image easily and naturally); another way of saying this is that the viewfinder isn't at all squinty. Using it, however, is an acquired skill - as a "real" image, the viewfinder's projection hovers at a very precise location in space, so locating it is kind of fiddly. But what it gives up in terms of user-friendliness it more than makes up for in quality.

A single Cube shows how the same space can form different configurations of shapes. When putting 4 together one can discover the unfolding of the cubic crystalline structure, one that is a basic and ever present building system of Nature. From the formation of Rock Salt Crystals to the arrangement of the Honeycombs in a Beehive. Again there are 5 or more major shapes that will „fall into place“. A nice add on is the possibility to explore the relationship between 2 cubes which in itself is a Full Set to explore.

This is the configuration I used to do the 165 second stability test of the Joby Gorillapod SLR_Zoom, with the camera in vertical position. Notice that the leg on the left is curled, so it touches the ground and goes back up to support the outside edge of the camera. It felt solid and safe, and took about 15 seconds to configure.

I used this configuration because the Gorillapod was difficult to configure in the traditional stance, with three (kind of) straightened legs; It took 90 seconds to configure, and did not feel safe and steady… however, I was able to get a 2 minute exposure without any blur.

I was also able to use vertical orientation with good results by removing the ballhead and Z-Finder bracket, But, I still prefer wrapping the leg up so it supports the camera body, even though the camera is an inch or two closer to the ground.

The tripod is rated to hold a camera that weighs 3 kg (6.6 lbs.). This is a Canon 5D mark II, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens, and the mounting bracket for a Zacuto Z-Finder Pro 3x. Total weight; about 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). The Z-finder bracket added about 30 g, and put the camera farther from the center of gravity of the Gorillapod, but, I wanted a worst-case-scenario.

This configuration can be used for 2 people, in the shower, at the same time! Ain't that sexy!

This is 4 different pictures I combined into one. The tern hovers against the on-shore breeze (top two pictures), wheeling around as necessary so that he can keep watch on a likely patch of shallow water right below - and then on spotting a likely morsel, he suddenly appears to fold his wings (bottom two pictures) and tip forward into a power dive into the water where he catches a bite to eat.

A basic introduction to IPv6 networking and security tools

-Reading some articles stating that IPv6 Project are starting off in Japan, China, etc... and the advent of UMTS projects using IPv6 backbone, it is inspired me to see if i could setup an IPv6 network myself and if indeed applications are available.
