'EDGE99', an E-4B of the 1st Airborne Command and Control Squadron, taxis for departure from RAF Mildenhall after the conclusion of Donald Trumps visit to France for the G7 summit - 26/08/19.
A small part of a huge (2-300) flock of avocet on the salt pans at Olhão. They were taking turns between feeding intently and flying in panic around the pans every time anything bigger than a sparrow flew over. A week on from this spectacle and there were maybe a dozen avocet on the pans. My conclusion was that the large flock were passage migrants refuelling.
People are in big confusion

Consecutive images in a 7 frame/sec burst. I started as the Snowy Egret Egretta thula, changed posture, thinking that it might be ready to take off in flight. Turns out it was more interested in making a deposit.

Llevo varias semanas probando varios degradados inversos de diversas marcas. En breve publicaré mis conclusiones en el blog.

Las manzanas Granny Smith son de color verde luminoso, aunque algunas pueden tener una piel rosada. Son crujientes, jugosas y ácidas, siendo excelentes tanto para cocinar como para comer crudas. También son fabulosas para las ensaladas porque las rebanadas no se oxidan tan rápido como otros tipos de manzana. Asimismo, tiene una textura más fuerte que la de otras manzanas verdes, provocando problemas a personas con dentaduras postizas.
En particular, es famosa por ser una de las manzanas más empleadas para la elaboración de tarta de manzana y en general en otros productos de panadería.

Jabi, analizando la imagen y los comentarios expresados, creo que hay dos tipos de conclusiones ineludibles.
En principio se trata de una captura de acertada y original composición. Adecuada proporción espacial; en una misma croma, pero variada en los aspectos relativos a la nitidez y sensación volumétrica.
Su luminosa y saturada coloración le otorga frescura y limpidez. Aligerando la sensación que percibe el espectador (en el plano representacional, no es una imagen pesada).
El segundo aspecto que me llama la atención, es el abstracto; el que se vincula a los componentes visuales que constituyendo un mensaje, impactan emocionalmente y hasta primitivamente (provocando sensaciones, en este caso kinestésicas y hasta gustativas). Tan presente en los comentarios.
Estas connotaciones no abundan en las fotografías, aunque es un recurso muy buscado y empleado en publicidad.
Aquí presente; evidentemente, remitiéndome a las pruebas.
Sólo me queda agregar que las imágenes simples, directas, reducidas a un mínimo casi erreductible, tienen la cualidad de alcanzar un plano abstracto y simbólico efectivo.
Conclusión: es una bella y simple imagen de gran impacto como mensaje visual y técnicamente correcta.

I created this particular shot with the idea of making something so mundane into something filled with wonder. I feel like It was a success!
This shot was taken in a small puddle of ditch water that has overflowed into the grassy area of our park after a recent rainstorm. It was a simple everyday location that kids and adults alike walked past or avoided. It just looked messy and muddy. I on the other hand got there at golden hour as the sun reached a low angle in the west. The reflections of the sun off the broken puddle made for a rich bokeh swirl.
This astronaut figure has been my favorite to shoot lately because it lends to a bit of wonder and mystery. I can create without any bounds to reality as we know it. I sloshed out a bit into the puddle and knelt down to setup the shot. I pushed the astronaut down and it kept floating so I had to take off the helmet and fill with water. I left one arm up reach through the water with the intention to turn the image 90 degrees for the shot you see above.
I then edited in a stark black & white with some blueish space hues. I’m really happy with the results. A simple everyday puddle has become a wondrous image to ponder over.

The poster for the final Hobbit movie, the Battle of the Five Armies, built in Lego!
Finally! After 2 months of work, hours of set up, buildings crashing/rebuilding, and adding lighting, it is finished!
I built the Hobbit Poster for the Final Hobbit movie in Lego (excluding Smaug). Poster link. I had tons of fun building this, probably my favorite (but most tedious) part of this is the water and fire effect with it. I hope you like it too!

Backstory:
My friend and I are doing a collab of this poster, and were going to enter it into the CCCXII. I was going to build Laketown in the picture, and he was going to build Smaug. I decided not to build the exact poster, but added my own artistic flare with the stone. Also, I don't have that much brown. :P What you see is basically everything, I have basically no more plates or tiles. I did have a ton of fun building and designing it however, which is most important. :)
Problem
Unfortunately, Smaug is not ready. We are going to take pictures of both sections together at a later date, but after the CCCXII is over.
However, I still wanted to enter into the CCCXII.
Conclusion
so after we talked about it, I took the photo of Laketown, excluding Smaug. So this is only HALF of the collab. We will take photos of that at a later date.
So this is my section, I hope you like it! In case you are wondering, this is what I have been working on for a while. :)

Hace un tiempo que venía dándole vueltas a mostrar el otro lado de “Héroes”, después de hacer el vídeo para presentar la novela -lo dejo por aquí por si alguien no lo ha visto vimeo.com/90270266, y las diferentes fotos para dar a conocer a los protagonistas, me quedé pensando que todo eso estaba muy bonito, ideal de la muerte, pero que no representaba a la historia, al menos no al cien por cien. Porque a ver, no todo es maravilloso y por supuesto ellos no son siempre fabulosos, Luis -el protagonista- es un puto jodido desastre de hombre, joder menuda santa paciencia hay que tener para aguantarlo.
Así que no, no todo es de color rosa, ni blanco, ni negro, ni amarillo, ni rojo. No es de colorines y hay más oscuridad que luz, bastante más. Pero por encima de eso lo que más abunda es la vida misma… las discusiones, las palabrotas, las risas, las lágrimas, los besos, las cervezas, el sexo, los puñetazos, las pajas, y un buen número de conversaciones repletas de lenguaje de la calle. Ellos no son maravillosos, ellos a veces son jodidamente primitivos, y me cago en la puta cómo les quiero por eso.
De modo que pensando en todo esto llegué a la conclusión que tenía que enseñar ese otro lado más canalla, y que qué mejor manera de hacerlo que mostrarlo a lo Bowie porque you know… "We can be heroes, just for one day".

As it's name suggest, the Trident family generally had three engines, but the 3B actually had four! It was fitted with an RB.162 booster engine which gave it a much needed extra 15% of thrust on take-off
117 Tridents were sold to a handful of operators where the type enjoyed reasonable success until new noise regulations dictated costly modifications
Inevitably the cost implications of such 'mods' were not viable and the Trident was retired from BEA in 1985 with the type finally retired from Chinese operations a decade later

On August 31st, in Lisbon, I concluded my year-long 365 Monochrome Project. My initial reactions were of relief, happiness and accomplishment. Relief in the way of being free for a bit from a daily task and now looking back at the work, I am feeling extremely accomplished and proud of the images that I made. From the streets of Poznan to my new home in Warsaw to concluding in Lisbon, the project followed me everywhere in all of the lovely seasons.

Actually you can take this both ways. I left the real scary stuff off this one and kind of left it up to the person looking at to come up with their own conclusion, is it scary or sad. But if you look hard between the two trees...see the old Lady watching ..
