Conclusions to my testing coming soon, sorry for the delay!

When I stumbled upon this idyllic spot I was convinced I had found the fountain of the gods. From the looks of that old wooden flue, others must have come to the same conclusion. They were obviously drinking the nectar somewhere downstream, as the flue was actively carrying water away from the creek. Maybe that's where all the goddesses and gods were living.

Fortress in Kamieniec Podolski, (formerly known as the bulwark of Christianity or the gateway to the Polish) - guarded headland leading to the Old Town.

Originally strengthen existed in prehistoric times. Brick castle was built in the second half of the 14th century, and since 1432 permanently was in the Polish Kingdom.

In 1672, during the Polish-Turkish War, was first time occupied by the Turks.

After the conclusion of a peace treaty in Karłowice in 1699, the castle returned to Polish. It has been expanded and strengthened.

As a result of the second partition of Polish in 1793 Kamieniec became a part of Russia, and never returned to Poland border.

Został rozbudowany i umocniony.

W wyniku II rozbioru Polski w 1793 r.

Señores de Flickr no se puede ser tan purista para una cosa y para otras no, la hipocresía es mala compañera y ahora explico estas palabras;

A few of the Cormorant sculptures on the seafront at Morecambe captured at sunset as I made my way back to my car. The Lake District fells can be seen silhouetted in the background across Morecambe Bay.

It was amazing I captured this shot as I squelched back in my wellies having immersed myself in the sea in an attempt to wash off the mud I had accumulated in a close encounter with the notorious quicksand mud of Morecambe Bay!

Luckily my gear survived the ordeal and I live to fight another day!

During our holiday in Italy, we also made a day trip and visited the lovely city of Verona.

While Verona is widely known for being the set of William Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet" and Juliet's balcony at "Casa di Giulietta" (Juliet’s House - it's said she lived there), I came across some other very intriguing photo spots - being happy, not to be one of hundreds of tourists in a queue. One of these spots was this car park.

I really liked the color and the mood in the car park, side lit by the late afternoon sun, supporting the yellow and friendly tones. And the light was exactly right to support the leading lines. So I asked my partner to walk the line :)

A few minutes before, the park ticket vending machine simply kept a few Euros of the change - which made me upset for a moment. But after capturing the image and thinking about it a few minutes, I came to the conclusion, that it might be the fee for the photo :D

I hope you like the photo, too :)

A wonderful experience using the D300. In my opinion much better than my new DSLR and Mirrorless. Was able to shoot for two days with one battery charge. And the details at 100% view are the same as the images from my full-frame 24MP camera. In other words, most cameras old or new are the same, all you need are good lenses and good camera techniques. Megapixels is only for the print size and any other extra feature is only for ease of use. BTW was able to print one image in 16X20 size with excellent details.

Before you draw your conclusions about this image, please read the description.

The sky and foreground were captured back to back at the same focal length and with the same equipment from a single tripod position.

The camera position was roughly 2 miles away from the mountain station, and the telescope/camera combination has an extremely narrow field of view of only 1.5° x 2°. The resulting telephoto compression makes the otherwise tiny Orion Nebula appear huge.

Two years ago, I had already captured a similar deepscape, but I was never really satisfied with it. The problem was lacking data for my sky, especially in the green channel, as clouds moved in towards the end of the imaging session.

Of course, I could have recaptured the missing data or the entire Orion Nebula from a different place, but that's not my style. After waiting two years for an opportunity to reshoot the image, I finally got my chance this February.

The weather this time was perfect, which made capturing the sky pretty straightforward, but otherwise, the conditions were still as demanding as 2 years ago.

Getting the foreground in focus with a monochrome micro 4/3rd astro-cam and RGB filters through a 500mm f/5.6 telescope is a real pain. Furthermore, snowcats grooming the slopes caused constantly changing, extremely bright illumination. Considering this, I am quite happy that I was able to capture a usable foreground.

Marie Lou and her friend talk while walking back through a flower field before night fall

Friend : Did you ever wondered what we are for ?

Marie Lou : Hmmm... ?

Friend : Yeah, I mean why do we exist, why does anything exist in the first place...

Marie Lou : I don't know... All I know is that we have to fulfill our goals and dreams about what we currently know about the world

Friend : Totally, to go forward in our world, we need to accomplish goal, but are they real ? Or are we just a bit of imaginary ?

Marie Lou : I think we are all imaginary, our minds, our reality, our perception, nothing could be real. All locked behinf the curtain of stimulus of mind

Friend : Right...

Marie Lou : *sigh* Don't be troubled (Marie Lou smiled gently), let just our false reality be replaced by our dreams

Friend : (smile back at Marie Lou) Yeah, maybe one day we will figure it out

Marie Lou : That would be great ! Or at least I hope so. Do you wish to look at the stars with me ?

Friend : You bet !

what a day!

woke up with a headache after a long night of partying, after 3-5 coffees I turned on the dishwasher, but unfortunately I discovered that it was broken, I then spent hours trying to find a repairman. He came, but unfortunately he wasn't very competent and flooded our kitchen... after a lot of back and forth he finally managed to get the machine working again, I was relieved, but also at the end of my tether... Conclusion... technology is a blessing and a curse ;-)

The conclusion of the series from the Eremo Gaudio hotel viewpoint over Varenna, sorry to repeat on the same subject for multiple uploads, but the sky was amazing, and it kept changing, I couldn't decide which was best.

A shot from this mornings foggy start in a graveyard in Sunderland . Thanks for looking

As said, I'm surprised how much IR characteristic there is on / with this mixed wavelength situation, in that sense I suppose I shouldn't be surprised anymore that it translates well to b&w also, ..yet I am.

This is actually a test panorama, the light was not really great, late afternoon, soft and muted, sky was nice though.

Now, looking at it a bit longer (when stitching and developing this stuff one aquires bit a blindness almost, that's why I think it's best to let things rest for a day or two and go at it a 2nd time, fresh), the landscape, trees etc. could very well be from a pure visible photo, it doesn't have the 720nm+ Wood effect going as much; the sky however looks like deep infrared. Interesting. But maybe it's just this particular lighting situation?

Source here is a 30 piece mercator projection, trimmed to 27953 x 14365px, ~401,6MP, and this is just a partial panorama.

I never thought I would sink so low, and utter such a heretic thing, but it appears that there could be the possibility that there is such a thing as too much resolution! Going 360° with this setup usually results in like ~850MP panoramas; that is nuts! But I won't jump to conclusions, and let things play out on a practical level and then see what happens I guess.
