Self Portrait #9, Collagraph on found newspaper, 12x16"
The thesis of my Concentration is based in self-portraiture, the varying ways an individual “sees” oneself over time, and how this affects representation. Changing physical traits will noticeably affect representation of one’s self over time, however this pales when compared to the remodeling of framing devices in locating one’s artistic voice. A recurring motif is the tension between stasis and change, and how even iterations of a repetitive printmaking process can reveal idiosyncrasies.

When both my kids concentrate they stick their tongues out... their mum's exactly the same.
It's something I really love to see in all of them and I can't help but smile. My wife thinks I tease her about it when I mention it, but it's one of the things I adore about her.

Took a quick 5 mins to have another play with reflectors, silver one this time. Was amazed at how much light is reflected back from it and was all I used when making this photo

An intense game of chess between Prakarsh Singh, best friend of mine from India (and a resident like me at Netherhall House, a student hall of accommodation in London) and Andrew Soane (a chess Master) left everyone captivated. In the photo, Prakarsh is the person with a turban; the others are all summer students staying at the hall for a month learning English. Everyone is deep in concentration...

10x9 digital photo. Ok so I've somewhat changed my concentration but not to the point where the previous photos don't apply. So here goes.
For my concentration I want to show the struggle for identity that many of us face.
In all my pieces so far I have not actually captured the face of the model. Also I have created different tones of lighting order to portray certain stages or feelings of identification.
I know my writing still sucks but we're starting to get somewhere I hope.

This beautiful little girl was watching other children play, as you can see it took a lot of concentration. This was taken in Guadamar.

Yes, this is me back in my high school days as the yearbook photographer. This is where my passion for photography all started. In case anyone is wondering, the camera I am using here is a Yashica Mat 635 Twin Lens Reflex camera. I have one of these in my vintage camera collection if you care to look in my camera set on my stream. The flash unit is a Honeywell strobe and a very good one for back then.
I am not going to tell you the year that this was taken, because it would date me. Anyone care to guess... LOL..
