It's worth putting false nails on when I'm planning on three days of feminine living. After three days in these maybe I might just get the hang of them. Right now i'm feeling a bit clumsy.
Concentration.
I caught this guy catching waves at Town Beach in early August and he was great to observe as he had the ability to catch wave after wave.

Remembering my big brave boy - he came to live with me after he'd been ill-treated. I saw his photo on the rescue centre website & knew he was the cat I wanted, but was shocked how big he was when I saw him as I'd only had small cats before. Once settled with me he was a gentle giant. He loved this toy (designed for rabbits!). Happy Caturday.

Only a "snap" - but had to share this photo of Charlie. The ball contains tiny biscuits, hence the need for such concentration.
My grandson Ellias asked me to take him to the airport so that he could take photos of aeroplanes with his camera. As you can see he took it very seriously and as you can see, I'm not very good at applying sun cream!!!!
This is an example of rhythm, because the lights create a constant pattern toward the subject: Ruby’s. The people are constructed by the width and length of the pier, and fight to find space for themselves. I used a zoom lens to capture this from across the street, and the low angle created an aspect of more people on the pier than there really was. It was fun to shoot this image and see how much our environment really affects us.
The men on Tequile Island are master knitters. Women spin wool and use vegetables and minerals to dye the wool to be used by the community. Women are also the weavers of the Chumpis, the wide belts with woven designs worn by everyone in the community of Taquile.
Some interesting facts:
•The young men knit hats which when courting are inspected by the prospective mate, if the knitting meets with her approval the will live together. If the knitting isn’t up to her standards he will have to knit another until she accepts it. Once accepted the will co-habituate for two years. At the end of the two years if it is mutually agreeable they will get married. Once married it is for life as there are no divorces allowed on the island. The unmarried men’s hats are predominantly red with white decoration, after marriage the hats contain blue stripes.
•The un-married women have long hair which is worn uncovered. Once married her hair is cut and from that time on she wears a black head scarf. The cut hair is woven into a Chumpis (wide belt) in alternating hair and white wool in vertical stipes which is then worn by her husband.
•Taquileños are short in stature with most women under 152 cm. The men are slightly taller.
