Bad luck mate!
I - rather callously - used my Ghost team to tempt this sniper into showing himself. Moving my team from cover to cover, slowly, down a main street I flanked down a side alley coming up behind the sniper who had been harassing us. Good night Vienna!
This city map was full of ambushes and sniper nests. Often they would pop up only after you had passed their position, and then you suddenly found yourself being shot at from two directions.
This sort of slow - and some would say boring - methodical movement, punctuated by a few moments of frantic heart-pounding team co-ordination is why I like Ghost Recon and why I think it is much more realistic than games like Call of Duty 4.
All of a sudden you have to 'bark out commands' to your team to get to cover and return fire - while at the same time try your best not to get your own head shot off --- and with the Ghost Recon games it can be one shot one kill!
Luckily the team command system in this game is wonderfully intuitive.
(Note on graphics: To make the game play smoother and more efficient I turned down a lot of the more snazzy graphic effects, so this screen shot does not show the game in it's highest quality.)
