Heroes of the Pacific is your typical console cross-over game - it's an arcade-sim with *very* forgiving flight controls (which are easy to control using a mouse or gamepad).
I actually had this game on the original XBox and enjoyed it - but on the PC both the gameplay and the graphics are well bellow par, particularly as the game has been out a few years now.
All the same, as a budget title (I paid just £3 for it!) it's an OK purchase if you want a game that you can grab a quick 10 or 20 minutes of no brainer action.
Disclaimer: Don't ask me how this happened, but taking a screen shot in the 'Reply' mode improves the look of the game ten fold! It doesn't look as good as this during normal play! (IMHO)...If it did it would be an OK game, instead of a crap one!
Me playing Zoe - my pathetic expression says it all! I fell off the roof and no one can help me!

Read my review of Heroes of the Pacific versus Battlestations: Pacific over at Milgeek.co.uk:
Everyone's a critic!
Above can be seen my range instructor, who - to be fair - was not as full-on 'Gung-Ho' and stereotyped as the 'Gunny' I had in Americas Army 3.
In fact, this early 'Boot Camp' section of ArmA2 - naturally - follows the same format as AA3's basic training, with the exception of vehicle training and a live fire exercise against fellow troops. (Though had ArmA2 been strict in it's adherence to 'realism' the live fire MOUT section should have been done with laser simulation equipment - that would have been a nice touch.)
As you can see, the level of detail here is superb and I'm not even running a brand new or highly spec'd PC. All this is on a 'medium' setting, and it ran very smoothly - unlike ArmA1!
I have written down some very brief initial thoughts about the game here: Milgeek's ArmA2 early impressions
Well here it is night before my surgery and I am bound to the house. Been drinking a Salty Cocktail (Laxative) since 4pm and now I am for sure NOT leaving the house. At least I have time to up my game a bit! Wooo Hoo!!

Photo-a-Day: Year 6, Day 317 – Total Days: 2,143
Launch day for a new World of WarCraft Expansion is always rather exciting. Oh to be a fly on the wall at Blizzard's offices on a day like this.
It probably took about two hours or so to finally get in to play the game. But once I was in, it was pretty awesome!
